Dr. Dave is of Indian origin, born in Uganda, East Africa. Due to political situation, he and his family moved to India in 1969 where he studied Dentistry. He graduated as Dentist in 1975. He went to Nairobi, Kenya. Where he did his Internship and obtained license to practice Dentistry in Kenya. He moved to U.S.A in 1977 and joined the U.S. Army for 6 years. While in the army, he passed Tennessee Dental Boards. He received an Honorable Discharge after which he moved to Memphis in 1982.
After 11 years as an Associate Dentist in Memphis he established his own practice on Park Avenue. In 2019 Dr. Dave merged his Park Avenue practice, Dr. Dave's General Dentistry, with American Family Dentistry at Kirby and Quence Road.

I didn't get my tooth pulled out and I only got antibiotics and I'm in sever pain and my face is swollen and I have tried over the counter medication and nothing else works for me and can't sleep.

I was made appointment by their call center at another location which I was told didn't take my insurance. You think the call center would have know before making the appointment for! I was told by that location that I had to go to the Kirby location where they take my insurance! I then made another appointment at their location a week later sat there for over an hour waiting for my appointment finally went up and asked how much longer it would be when they said they were trying to get my insurance verified? That seems strange when I already had it verified through my insurance company? They said they would call me once they find out, which I have still never heard from them a couple days later. I've since made another dentist appointment with a different dentist hopefully this one will work out.!

My first time visiting this dentist. The staff was very friendly. I didn't have to wait long to be seen. Gave me a complete exam and a treatment plan. Gave me an appointment the next day to start my treatment plan. Don't usually say this about a dentist office but I am looking forward to starting my treatment plan tomorrow.

My son and I have had excellent experiences with AFD, Dr Ballard and his dental staff. My son is a young adult with Down syndrome and they made him completely comfortable. Nothing to say but good things about this dental practice!!

Excellent Service, as always!!! I took my adult son with autism to have his teeth cleaned, and Ms. Teneshia was very patient with him. She did a really great job with cleaning his teeth and educating him on maintenance, along with Dr. Ballard. Thanks so much AFD at Kirby!!!

It was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! I have a fear of drilling and being numbed. Dr. Ballard and Mrs. Hattie took very good care of me. They listened to my concerns and made sure there was very little pain. I went back for my crown and had a wonderful experience. I can truly say, they will not do procedures if it's not needed. Also, my hygienist Tanisha is GREAT, she makes sure I get my cleanings on time. GREAT OFFICE STAFF!!
