Dr. Daryl Byrd is a graduate of Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry and has been in the private practice of General Dentistry for over thirty four years. His treatments includes cosmetic dentistry, oral conscious sedation, oral surgery and orthodontics. Dr. Byrd has published two books and is an awarding winning bestselling author for the book,'The Diamond from Within'. Dr.Byrd has lectured professionally in the United States and Canada for four years on Digital Radiography for Kodak Dental Systems.

I have found a new dentist!! Dr. Byrd is just great! I broke a tooth mid day and called my regular dentist and they couldn't see me for 4 days. American Family Dentistry took me right away. Dr. Byrd did just what I wanted and didn't try to talk me into a bunch of things. He pulled the tooth fast with no pain; he is so friendly and awesome!!!

The staff is super nice, which helps me not to be as anxious. I appreciate that so much. They all do a good job as well. I've never had any issue or concern with the dental work either.

Just had my 3 month check up and has been my experience in my past visits; the staff is knowledgeable, very experienced and friendly. They make it a point to educate you about your teeth and the preventative measures you can take to keep your teeth healthy. They go to great lengths to make sure procedures are painless or near painless.

The receptionist, Brenda, was very personable and professional and explained everything very well. Dr.Daryl was the same and made me feel comfortable about going forth with my wisdom tooth surgery. Overall, excellent care and would recommend for anyone!

I recently started going to this practice after moving from out of state and I've recommended American Family Dentistry to all my friends and family in the Cool Springs area! The entire team from Tori at reception to Dr. Byrd and his assistants provide thorough, efficient, attentive, and friendly dental care. That's not even the best part, Dr. Byrd has administered numbing shots twice now with no pain at all! When they recommend procedures/corrective action they are very positive and do not make me feel guilty for not having a perfect dental regimen. In the past with other practices, this guilty feeling is a prominent reason I've dreaded going to the dentist. Instead, they are encouraging and create a welcoming environment to improve dental health.

I now have a dental office to go to! I just moved to Franklin, TN in April 2019. It's always a challenge to find a new dental office because there's so many out there. After researching, I decided on AFD Cool Springs and I'm glad I did! The front desk staff are very friendly and approachable. My new hygienist, La Toya, is also very friendly and went over everything with me. She was thorough. She even went over costs and I was very appreciative of this! She was gentle with the cleaning and this is a plus for me since I have anxiety. Dr. Bozeman was great. He didn't judge and was encouraging. Thank you everyone! [UPDATE] It's now May 2022 and I'm still going to AFD Cool Springs! The only thing that has changed is that the staff is even friendlier! This helps my nerves because I suffer from anxiety. My hygienist, Cassandra, was great! She was gentle and lets me know what she's doing every step of the way. If work needs to be done, the front desk lets you know how much my insurance will pay. This is so helpful to know how much I need to pay out-of-pocket. There are no surprises. And I'm not being told I need this and that work done. What work needs to be done is needed. I don't feel they sell me things so that they can profit. Thank you AFD Cool Springs for caring and understanding my anxiety therefore taking your time with me!

Since the arrival of Dr Byrd I have experienced a 1000% improvement. He is a phenomenal dentist, very personable and puts you at ease right away. I recently had some major and complicated dental work done. He spoke me through the process, took his time reassuring me throughout the procedure, and completed the whole thing without me having experienced any real discomfort and no pain. I can't more highly recommend Dr Byrd.

Do yourself a favor- DO NOT GO here...... Cleaning lady is all about your money and treats your mouth worse than a TOILET BOWL. Doctor doesn't remember anything about your last visits and highly argumentative on simple things. Waited 1.5 hour when I arrived on time for a simple appointment and no apology but rather "we have other patients to attend to" No sense of urgency with things irrespective of what patient is going thorough. Doctors assistant treats you like a number and don't care about even calling you by name. Simple gripe about 2 hours delay and needed to hurry was responded as "we have other patients to attend". Guess what- my 5 year old will be now waiting outside school with no one to pickup.. Office manger is having hard time finding good doctors and staff and constant changes in staff Only person in would keep was the front receptionist and fire ALL including Doctor, assistant, cleaning old lady and manger. Be careful about all FAKE reviews bcos it's easy to do on google and Fb but check - yelp and Trip Advisor and you will get the real picture.. My review is real and I had all my family go there bcos it was convenient to our daily chores and no one really had any big issue - until now when these guys messed up simple filling (wasn't even needed I feel)

Had my first visit with AFD this week. I have to say it was the most pleasant and less stressful dental visit I have ever had. Everyone I was involved with had excellent " bedside manners" Highly recommend for everyone I know!
