Dentistry is an excellent opportunity for me to connect with people and build trusting relationships. I am passionate about empowering patients to be good stewards of their oral health as an important part of their overall health.
My childhood hometown of Methuen is just down Rt. 93 and across the MA border. My college education began at Bates with a degree in Biology. I quickly realized that blending science with helping people was my calling. After shadowing many healthcare professionals, I was motivated by the patient interaction and ability to work with my hands that dentistry allows. The pursuit of a career in dentistry led me to Tufts University where I received my Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). I completed my Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at the Togus Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Augusta, ME.
After 7 great years of treating patients in Rochester, NH, I decided to pursue my dream of owning a dental practice and was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Aviza and learn about our shared philosophies on patient treatment and this wonderful practice.
I am excited to be your dentist and look forward to meeting each of you and learning your personal stories and discussing your dental treatment. My basic philosophy on dental treatment can be boiled down to a simple statement I will treat you as if you were family. We will work together to identify any challenges, review the treatment options, and complete the option of your choosing together.
Having been voted a Top Dentist in NH by my peers for the past 4 years and as past president of the Seacoast Dental Society, I am committed to providing patients with the best treatment and advancing the science of dentistry.
My wife, Erica, and I have three wonderful children. With a newborn, 4-year old and 6-year old we are enjoying the adventures of parenthood. As a family, we enjoy being outside hiking, biking, and playing at the park. My personal downtime includes reading, cycling and triathlon, volleyball, and the company of close friends and family.

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. Our son is a nervous wreck when going to the dentist. He's always had an extreme phobia of needles, but with extremely soft teeth he has to see the dentist pretty regularly throughout the year. Dr Ambra and his staff were hands down fantastic (we've switched dentists a few times over the past 13 years because our son had poor experiences). They offered him nitrous to help him relax but he didn't wind up needing it as before they even gave him a shot to numb his mouth for a cavity repair they managed to 1) Make him feel super comfortable by talking with him and 2) Took their time going slow with some prenumbing solution. After his appt was finished he came out to the waiting room with a smile on his face and exclaimed that he 'didn't even feel the needle whatsoever' and that this is the 'only dentist I (he) will ever go to in the future'! Amazing! The office staff are wonderful, office is great, and Dr. Ambra is a gem. Thank you to Dr. Ambra and his team for providing us such excellent care and patience with our 13 year old son's phobia!

I've been going to Ambra Dental Care for years - and honestly I can't imagine going anywhere else. The staff are very friendly and courteous, the place is clean and inviting, and most importantly Dr. Ambra is professional and very knowledgeable. I've struggled with Dental anxiety for years and Dr. Ambra goes above and beyond to make sure I'm are comfortable in the chair before and throughout any work.

I am a pretty anxious patient and Dr Ambra and his team, the front office and clinical staff, are always very patient, professional and kind. I've had some extensive treatment needs over the last year and I have been more than satisfied with the quality of work and the overall experience. I highly recommend Dr Ambra if you are looking for a general dentist!

I have been going to the dental practice for years and I love it! I feel very taken care of when I'm here. Everyone is very kind and attentive. Many years ago at another dental practice I was told I needed seven cavities filled, but under the care of Dr Ambra and his team I have been able to stop and even reverse the damage and not needed any of those cavities filled! Special shout out to hygienist Sue and Jon at reception who are truly amazing!!

DDS Ambra is remarkable. He was able to fit me in during an emergency. Then he created the most beautiful gold crown. I feel as if I have a piece of art work in my mouth. You are treated like a queen by everyone in the office.

Dr Ambra is absolutely wonderful! I am 63 years old and have seen my share of dentists over the years. What a great experience and a wonderful delight going to Dr. Ambra. He was gentle and soft-spoken and made sure I was always comfortable while working on my teeth. I saw parents with their children in the waiting room, I can understand why he could be a favorite among children who usually fear going to a dentist. Dr Ambra's did an outstanding job on my tooth. The main reason for my visit was that I had badly chipped a tooth in the front of my mouth that was very visible. He fixed it in a way that you would never ever know that my tooth was ever chipped in the first place! It was awesome The office staff are also totally awesome people! They are all very sweet and kind. I can't say enough about my first ever visit to Dr Ambra's dental office. I highly recommend Dr Ambra to anyone that wants a wonderful experience when going to a dentist. Oh! Did I mention he is also very reasonably priced which was also a wonderful surprise when I checked out of the office!!! It's very clear Dr. Ambra loves his job and that taking care of his clients is his top priority. It's a great feeling..... I have gone to this office for years. Under new ownership but same staff. Now it seems "family like". Before it seemed so serious and sterile personalities. It's nice to joke and smile at the dentist.. isn't that what we go to the dentist for is to smile. Very clean and professional and they take the time to explain issues you may have with your teeth and mouth. I like the text reminders of appointments also. Just had a filling replaced was comfortable and painless. Thanks again Ambra Dental. 5 team for sure!
