But youll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as youre wearing braces.
When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and teeth may be tender to biting pressures for three to five days. This can be relieved by rinsing your mouth with a warm saltwater mouthwash. Dissolve one teaspoonful of salt in 8 ounces of warm water and rinse your mouth vigorously. If the tenderness is severe, take whatever you normally take for headache or similar pain. The lips, cheeks, and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become accustomed to the surface of the braces. You can put wax on the braces to lessen this. To successfully complete the treatment plan, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands, headgear, or other appliances as prescribed. Damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time.
Its more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces so the teeth and gums are healthy after orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment.

I had a great experience today at Amboy Orthodontics. The staff were all very helpful and patient. I went for a consultation and the doctor was very honest. I am having a retainer made for my teeth, and the staff was very accommodating and cognizant of my needs. I truly recommend them!

Just walked out of my last visit with Dr. Seth and I couldn't be happier with my teeth! His staff worked so well with their patients that including me. The visits always went smoothly and the whole team, including the doctor, were very careful and sure of what they were doing. Just listen to the directions given and you'll have a great smile in no time! Overall, my experience was outstanding that I even brought in my younger brother to get his braces done here lol. My daughter and I love the Dr and his staff but the girl at the front desk Ariana is very unprofessional. Whenever we come in for my ddaughters appointment she is always seems to be on a personal call or has AirPods in her ear. If you ask me, she's not providing good customer service.

Dr Margulies and the whole staff are wonderful. They are always willing to accommodate your schedule and do their best to resolve any type of issues. The office Manager, Diane, genuinely looks out for the best interest of the patient and handles all the insurance inquiries... rather the battles in dealing with these insurance providers. I have been coming to this wonderful place since I started high school which was 3 years ago. While I was here I was always treated kindly and the doctors always remembered my name. It was very nice because I found myself never dreading coming here unlike other doctors appointments I've had. They always made sure that I was comfortable and the place is very clean and homey. They even gave me and my mother merchandise t-shirts which was very kind of them. They had flexible hours of which allowed me to come after school. They also never showed me any hostility or anger of any kind even when I had accidentally disconnected one of the braces, they had advised me to be careful but even after it happened they were kind and patient with me and simply asked me to be more careful. Everything was very clean and comfortable. They also had soft soothing music that on my first visit made my nerves fade and after experiencing their kindness and professionalism ultimately disappeared. After all this time I'm so happy that was the place I had went to get my teeth fixed and I can't wait till I have my next appointment.

I've wanted to get bracers for a longggggg time. I searched everywhere. I love the environment! I didn't give a five star beacuse I just got my bracers on today. I'm sure I will. i'm trying to get an appointment for this dentist. i try calling them no response. i heard about this place sounds very pleasing. also wanted to get braces. i tried going on a day that was open. doors closed. even went on a saturday at 10am. doors are closed. i also saw a person inside. didn't let me in. sooo what time are you guys really open. i really need to get my teeth fixed. i've been trying to get a hold of this place for MONTHS ( almost a year ).
