My daughters both adore this office. The staff always remember them and are very patient with my special needs daughter with sensory issues. Doc is amazing at talking my girls through the process and makes them feel confident while in the chair. Over all we always have a pleasant visit here

I was skeptical after reading the reviews because I don't do well with holding my tongue when people talk down to me. I had to get my son into the dentist for an emergency and chose the closest one that chose my insurance. Every single person I encountered was polite, friendly, informative and very understanding. Dr. Shultz himself is such a nice man! He just takes his profession seriously and genuinely cares about your children's oral health. I can understand where people are coming from when they claim him to be "belittling, condescending, rude, out of line" or whatever it is you called him. He did say a couple things in a slight passive aggressive manor, but you people need to get out of your feelings! He finds the nicest and most professional way to basically tell you "you're the parent, the teacher and you need to help them because they can't do some things themselves" I felt he handled things with good tact and very informative with sincerity. So, I recommend! You can trust that they will do everything they can to help your child have healthy teeth!

Dr. Shults and his team are great!!! We go in with my 4 year old and almost 2 year old. My 4 year old recently went in for 6 cavities 1 being a root canal. Dr. Schults did such a great job taking care of them and teaching me ways to better my sons oral health. Now I have confidence to create better habits with my youngest son. Thank you Dr. Schults and your amazing staff!!!

My family and I have moved out of state few years ago now and I still have not been able to replace the experience and expertise from Dr Shults. He is an outstanding doctor. There are some parents that I understand want that very overwhelming kindness for their children. As a parent though I prefer the honest truth with the best available care for my children's dental health. Thank you Dr. Shults and your amazing team we surely miss your office. Helllo from NY

Unfortunately, my experience matches a few other negative reviews. THE STAFF IS INCREDIBLE and I want to make sure they know that. HOWEVER, Dr Shults has ZERO bedside manner. He had me questioning my parenting skills within seconds of meeting him. Luckily, he was nice to my cavity free child but forget manners when it comes to the parents. If you are a perfect parent, and your child consumes zero sugar EVER...then sure, go here! You 2 will be best friends!

I have a child with special needs and we have been coming to Dr. Shults for several years. He and his team are always kind, respectful and patient with my child. He takes his time and explains what's going on and what the next steps, if any, should be. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Schultz helped my son when he fell off his bike and hit his front teeth on the asphalt. We were seen right away and the calm bedside manner helped reassure my son so that everything could be cleaned out and stitched back up. His tooth had actually punctured his lip and needed 3 stitches. It healed so nicely and you wouldn't know that anything happened (aside from a small chip that Dr. Schultz said was cosmetic and we could take care of later). So glad that everything worked out so well!

We took my daughter Angelina here 3 years ago in June. They recommended to put her (our 2 year old daughter) to sleep so they could fix a few cavities. This was scary to us because she was still vary little, didn't talk great yet, and we didn't know if she was having any pain.. So we looked into it (look for yourself) and there is no reason to put a child that small under anesthetics unless in extreme circumstances or if the child is in severe pain. Reminding you we initially took her here for a cleaning. This was 3 years ago and Angelina speaks fluent and clear now, has had no work done on her teeth, and has never said anything ever about any teeth hurting. To me they are taking unnecessary risks with my child's life just to take my money. Please find a different place to take your little ones.

I am shocked google has such a high rating for this Dental Clinic. I believe Yelp better reflects the issues I have been having with this place. I will not bring my son back here. Dr. Schultz severally lacks bedside manner, and is quite frankly, rude. As others have stated, his staff (specifically Dental Assistants, not so much the front desk) are great. They are personable and kind. But Dr. Schultz's rude persona results in me giving this place 1 star. He treated and talked to me as if I was UNEDUCATED. Which, like him, I also have a graduate degree. But even if I WAS uneducated, his demeanor was uncalled for. He essentially stated that my son had 6 cavities or so, and that he'll either need to be "put under" for fillings, or if I let it progress, he'll need a metal cap. Now, in all honesty, I admitted we are not flossing his teeth as we should, and I have adjusted my sons diet after this, but his delivery is terrible. He told me I could "promise," to do better, but he says a lot of people don't. Something rubbed me the wrong way about me "promising" anything to a grown man. It just seemed childish, but I ignored it. He then told me that we haven't been in in 9 MONTHS, and that I have basically let the problem get worse because I haven't brought my child in. Let's think about that yall. A few months ago DENTAL CLINICS WERE SHUT DOWN DUE TO COVID 19. When my son was scheduled to go in MAY, they called and said he couldn't come in due to the pandemic. Ok, I get it, totally fine. NO ONE from this office called me back. THEY FORGOT ABOUT MY CHILD, and then blamed me for not bringing him in! I set up the appointment because my child's health is important to me. Dr, Schultz, you have some nerve to ever insinuate my child's health is not important to me. You belittled me in front of my child and your staff. They had me sign a bunch of paperwork for something about my son potentially needing fillings, and I felt uncomfortable. I felt like I should've followed my attorney husband's advice and not sign anything. I don't recommend this place. I'm sure his advice was fine, but I'm having my Dentist review everything before I make a decision. And if she does believe the advice is sound, my son will be getting fillings from someone who isn't rude. EDIT 5/10/21 - My son received new X-Rays from a different dentist and she said my son does NOT need a metal cap! Absolutely ridiculous that this advice was given for a then 4 year old when it wasn't needed! EDIT AGAIN 6/9/21 - Dr. Schultz called me AGAIN. As soon as I pick up the phone he immediately just starts talking about how he "wants to improve," but neither time did he ask if it was a good time for me to talk. He is not concerned about doing better as he tried to dispute my edit above with me. If you were truly concerned about my son then you would give accurate information and APOLOGIZE for being condescending. Then he told me my son's new Dr. should keep the records for when he inevitably needs help Dr. Schultz, she is ALSO a Dr. who is more than capable of taking her own X-rays. So condescending. We literally moved right by this facility and I rather drive my son to North Scottsdale to get dental help.

Brought my 7 month old to Dr. Shultz for the first and last time. As a new parent and first time patient, it would have been nice if he would have explained what he was doing before hand and asked my permission to do unnecessary fluoride treatment on my son. I saw him rub white stuff on my sons gums and I asked what it was, he said Fluoride. I have my own beliefs about fluoride and certainly didn't want that for my baby. Shame on him for not asking before hand.I was so angry when I left that I was shaking. However; he did call and apologize.

All three of my kids have been going to Dr. Larry Shults since they were little. His staff and him have been wonderful, especially with my Special Needs daughter. They have been very patient with her, especially when she was younger and she wouldn't cooperate. My oldest will be 18 next year and I'm sad she'll have to leave him.

Amazing people and amazing care! there are many dentists in the valley, and making the right one can be very hard. I'm here to say and make that choice a little easier. We are dedicated to making sure everyone knows that if they are looking for a place to ensure the best in care they should make sure to make Dr. Shults and his staff their 1st choice. Thank you Dr. Shults!

The office staff is amazing!! As for Larry Shultz himself not so much. He likes to belittle you and talk down to you like you are a child. If you happen to have any Community plan of insurance he will definitely make you feel beneath him. He has recommended that two children of mine needed braces. Before Covid happened and again today. He made the comment of my daughter getting braces but if I couldn't afford them then she can do it when she gets older and pay for them herself. At that moment I felt offended because of the manner of his comment but I just let it roll off as he was examining her teeth. I took my younger children out to the car as I waited for my oldest to be done with his appointment. When my son came into the car he told me the reason why he can't get braces is because Dr. Shultz told him that his mother couldn't afford them. That is not something that you discuss with a 13-year-old boy!! Larry Shultz has a way of making you feel like you are beneath him and not a good parent. He is very unprofessional and if you like to be talked down upon then by all means be a patient of this man but one thing is for sure I will NOT be taking my four children back to this man.
