Our practice is built on the core values of honest work, open communication, and patient satisfaction. We want all of our patients to feel welcome when they walk through the doors, and we always go the extra mile to make sure every patient feels comfortable and informed.

Our mission is to provide patients with reliable solutions to oral health problems while implementing new and leading technologies in a state-of-the-art environment. Our techniques and treatments rise above the standard of dental healthcare, and we are dedicated to improving the lives of those in our community.

Dr. Graves, Dr. Wilkinson, and Dr. Gonzalez Aguilar each share the common goal of providing exceptional patient care. Our doctors have each completed many years of extensive, hands-on training, and continuously learn about the latest advancements in technology as well as surgical approaches.

Originally, Dr. Graves was interested in dentistry but eventually discovered that oral surgery was more enjoyable and rewarding for him. He liked the idea that oral surgery was a mix of medicine and dentistry, and he could treat a wider range of patients in need.

Since he began practicing full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2008, Dr. Graves has enjoyed every day of his job. His patient philosophy focuses on patient comfort, and he is always willing to go out of his way to ensure that every patients experience is comfortable and positive. He finds his work so enjoyable and rewarding that he doesnt consider it a job. He came to Amarillo because he saw a need for an oral surgeon, and he felt that he could change lives within the Amarillo community.

Dr. Graves completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky, where he earned a bachelors degree in biology. He attended dental school at the University of Louisville, where he graduated in 2004 with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree.

Before being able to practice, oral surgeons must complete a minimum 4-year residency. Dr. Graves completed his oral and maxillofacial surgical residency at the University of TennesseeMemphis. During this residency, Dr. Graves received instruction from and trained beside surgeons and anesthesiologists to learn all about the safe practices of oral surgery and anesthesia administration. He is the highest qualified dental professional in administering sedation in an office setting, and he has extensive hands-on experience treating a wide range of oral and facial afflictions.

One of Dr. Graves favorite hobbies is traveling. He has a passion for travel and is always looking for new places to explore. He has been as far as Hong Kong, Dubai, and Paris, but also enjoys visiting places closer to home.

Dr. Paul Wilkinsons exploration of various fields began when he decided to follow in the footsteps of his auntan anesthesiologistand volunteer at the childrens hospital. While there, Dr. Wilkinson observed a range of different specialties, but he ultimately connected the most with oral surgeons. During his volunteering experience, he learned from the oral surgeons about what they do and how their field combined his two interests: anesthesia and surgery.

Dr. Wilkinson has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery since 2010, and he joined Dr. Graveshis friend since dental schoolat Amarillo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Dental Implants in 2011. The most rewarding part of Dr. Wilkinsons job is making people happy. Dr. Wilkinson often sees patients who have suffered for a long time; when he can identify and solve their oral health problems, he gets the most satisfaction from seeing their happiness and gratitude.

Dr. Wilkinson attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he majored in biology and minored in chemistry. He received his bachelors degree in 1998 and then continued onto the University of Louisville for dental school. In 2004, Dr. Wilkinson completed dental school and received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree. After dental school, Dr. Wilkinson felt that attending medical school would further improve his knowledge and skills and help him provide the highest quality care to his patients. In 2007, he graduated from Texas Tech with his MD.

In 2010, after medical school, Dr. Wilkinson completed a 4-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. During his time at Baylor, Dr. Wilkinson gained hands-on experience treating a range of oral and facial conditions. He worked alongside other surgeons and licensed anesthesiologists so that he could learn various treatment techniques and safe administration of anesthesia.

Dr. Wilkinson is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). In order to achieve this certification, a surgeon must undergo a rigorous peer evaluation process and demonstrate requisite knowledge, training, and experience in the field.

Outside of work, Dr. Wilkinson enjoys a wide variety of hobbies. He is largely interested in all things carshe loves learning about them, building them, admiring them, and he even participates in sanctioned street racing. He also enjoys various outdoor activities like fishing and hunting and loves traveling to his hunting lodge in South America, where he enjoys sport-shooting, shooting clays, and participating in winery tours.

When looking for a practice to join, Dr. Gonzalez Aguilar knew that he wanted to work at a practice that offered many surgical options to patients. He feels honored to be a part of the skilled and accomplished team at Amarillo Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Dental Implants. Dr. Luis Gonzalez Aguilar is especially interested in orthognathic surgery as well as facial cosmetic and oral surgical procedures.

Dr. Gonzalez Aguilar finds it rewarding to interact with his patients and get to know them on a deeper level. He enjoys being able to comfort nervous patients by offering anxiety or sedation options as well as talking with them about the details of their treatment.

Dr Graves is a good surgeon, but his office staff is up to some shady business practices. Charged me nearly $600 and double billed my insurance. After 4 months & countless phone calls it's finally been resolved.

Walked through it all and told me what they were doing it so I knew. They took care of me. Don't recall being this taken care of. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Thank y'all so much!!! Paul basically saved my life. Time to tackle to road of recovery!!! God blessed me with laying everything out like he did from waking up till now. Can't thank y'all enough!!! On Tuesday May 10th I went in for a consultation to remove a wisdom tooth. It just happened that they went ahead and removed it then, which was great to not have to make another trip. Dr. Lake did a great job extracting the tooth. Around 9:30 p.m. that evening I called the 24 hour number to get some answers as to why I was still bleeding pretty good. I waited on the phone for over 10 minutes and finally hung up and called a friend that is a dentist. I never received a call back showing any type of concern. I then called the office during business hours the next couple of days to get answers to some questions which your staff answering the phone is not very familiar with the questions. I then had to make another call after the 5th day to see if I was suppose to receive a syringe to flush out the area. Of course, I was told yes and was told that I could go back and get a free one or go buy one. This was by far the worst experience I have every run into with a post procedure. At that time, I mentioned to the young lady that I spoke with about my experience, She put me on hold and said she was going to let me speak to her manager. When she came back she informed me that her manager Edwina would get back with me as she was in a meeting. This call was made on Monday May 16th. As of today May 18th I have yet to receive that call from Edwina(the manager). In my opinion, this is very unprofessional. I would of liked to share a good review but this wasn't the case for me.

Referred for wisdom teeth removal. They were able to quickly fit me in for a consultation and schedule the procedure. After the procedure I was still groggy from anesthesia and the explained everything about my post-op care thoroughly to my husband. Friendly staff!

I've had work done from both Dr. Graves and Dr. Wilkinson. They are both amazing doctors with incredible bedside manner. Coming from someone who doesn't exactly love dental work- it's important to make the patient feel at ease and comfortable. They do just that. Highly recommend them! AOMS is a great company and Amarillo is lucky to have them!

Dr Wilkinson and his assistant Evelyn very friendly. Kept me informed the whole time during my procedure. Very professional. Also, a big thanks to Lauren Hodges the patient Advocate . She kept me informed on my cost, the process of the procedure, and any questions I asked she promptly replied to my text. Great office. Staff up front also very kind believe his name was Brandon. Would highly recommend this office.

My oral surgery endeavor began on a Monday afternoon with an extensive and friendly consultation. I scheduled my appointment by phone that same day and they squeezed me in. I checked in at the front desk and filled out a few forms about my dental and overall health. I wasn't overwhelmed by the amount of paperwork so that is good. I didn't have to wait long at all before I was called back to being my appointment. The consultation was done very thoroughly and straightforward with X-rays and CT scans in which some very high tech equipment was implemented, followed by an extensive mouth examination and lastly the options regarding treatment were discussed. I agreed to put my trust in the AOMS staff and follow trough with my surgery. They did a conformation phone call a few days later to confirm my surgery appointment and answered a few more of my questions. 7 days later was my scheduled day for surgery. I arrived about 15 minutes early and upon entering the facility I was treated like royalty and was placed in a seating area. I was called back faster than I expected and was escorted to the operating room. I was nervous and they completely understood. I climbed onto the operating table where an IV was placed into my arm and I was administered some calm mixture of gas trough a mask over my face while blankets were placed on my upper body close to my head. I had always wanted to count down how long it takes to go to sleep from the anesthesia and I started from 10,9,8,7,6,5 and one slight glimpse of the light that was above the operating table on the ceiling and I was asleep. The next thing I remember was waking up and hearing music "Take it to the Limit" by the Eagles I was mesmerized by the music and that's all I could think about because I like that song!! Then I remember a nurse helping me into a chair in a nicely equipped recovery room. I began regaining my cognitive recognition of reality once I nestled in the recovery chair and my ride home was brought in the room with me which made it comfortable and relaxing. My IV was gently removed and my surgery debriefing and post operation procedures were explained. I was sent home with a care package and detailed instructions for post operation care and emergency information. The nurse then helped me out of the chair and assisted me all the way to the vehicle and even helped me buckle up. That deserves appreciation in itself. I had "11" Teeth including my Wisdom teeth removed in less than 1 hour and I didn't feel or remember anything about the surgery. The recovery wasn't particularly terribly painful, but more like uncomfortable for about 5 days which was to be expected given the extent of my operation. I have extreme Dental Anxiety and I can tell you that I am not afraid anymore. Dr. Graves and the AOMS Staff highly exceeded my expectations!!! 8 days after my operation and I am free of the toothaches, headaches and my sinuses have improved tremendously!!! Just talk to them about your oral health and concerns and you will have the best experience! Thank you AOMS you really are Great!!! Corey
