Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Alvarez graduated from Colegio San Jose, in 1984. He received his bachelors degree in biology from King's College in 1988. Dr. Alvarez earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery bycompleting four years of training at the University of Maryland School ofDentistry, graduating fifth in his class. He graduated magna cum laude with several honors, including induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society and the Gorgas Dental Honor Society. Dr. Alvarez also was awarded the Williams and Wilkins Anatomy Award. Dr. Alvarez completed three years of specialty training in orthodontics during his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
In every facet of his life, Dr. Alvarez has worked hard to be the very best, and he is committed to continuing to do so by bringing you the very best in orthodontic care. Dr. Alvarez has three sons: John Luis, Christopher, and Dylan. He and his wife Christine consider them to be their proudest achievements.
In order to provide our patients with the highest level of care available today, continuing education is an ongoing top priority for Dr. Alvarez and his staff. Dr. Alvarez regularly attends local and national meetings. He stays current with all leading publications, including the Journal of the American Dental Association, the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.
As you will see below, many of us have years and years of experience in the dental and orthodontic field. In addition to this experience, we feel what really distinguishes our team and makes us so special is our commitment to making sure each and every one of our patients is treated individually with respect, compassion and gentleness. I have been a receptionist at Alvarez Orthodontics since 1999, and also handle the insurance for the office. It is a pleasure to come to work every day and really enjoy your job, your boss, and the people you come in contact with each day. It is fun to talk with the patients and find out what they are up to with school and their activities.
I am a Treatment Coordinator here at Alvarez Orthodontics, so I have the pleasure ofmeetingnew patients and makingthem feel at ease. I have been in the orthodontic field since 2002 and have proudly worked with Alvarez Orthodontics since 2007. Dr. Alvarez is professional and caring to our patients and staff. We have an amazing team and it makes it so enjoyable to come to work.
Born in Massachusetts, I now reside in Center Valley with my husband and two children. My children keep us busy with the multiple sports they play throughout the year. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, gardening, taking care of my chickens, as well as the outdoors, with hiking and kayaking. I look forward to meeting you soon to help you get started withyour orthodontic care!
I enjoy meeting new patients and welcoming them to our practice. Its a pleasure to watch how our patients smiles are transformed, along with the joy they express when their braces are removed. I have been working in orthodontics for thirteen years, all of which have been here at Alvarez Orthodontics. I have a bachelors degree in education and have had formal training as a dental and orthodontic assistant.
My wonderful husband and I have four beautiful children and threeprecious grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my grandchildrenand working out with my husband. I look forward to helping shape your smile for a sparkling future.
I have been working with the Alvarez Orthodontics team for more than six years. I am a receptionist here at Alvarez Orthodontics. I have worked in the dental field since 1982, and with Dr. Alvarez since 2000. I enjoy the opportunity to get to know our patients over the course of their treatment and see them finish with a beautiful smile.
It has always been my ambition to make someone smile. For over 12 years, I have enjoyed working in the orthodontic field. I consider myself to be a versatile person which allows me to be able to work with patients of all age groups and personalities with ease. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with a caring and professional team. I enjoy playing and/or watching any type of sport; hanging out with my husband, friends and family; teaching our cat Sputnik new tricks; and, of course, eating all types of food!
I began working as a receptionist at Alvare Orthodontics over a year ago and it has been a pleasure getting to know our patients. Everyone here is like extended family. We all work well together tokeep the schedulerunning smoothly. I look forward to coming to work each day because my colleagues are so nice and we have fun together. My husband Hugh and I have four children, Alex, Nick, Jack and Kaylee. We also have a dog named Buddy.
I have been an orthodontic assistant for more than tenyears. My favorite part of my job is getting to know all of the patients and seeing their beautiful smiles when they are all finished with treatment.

I am in training as a clinical assistant and have been with Alvarez Orthodontics for five years. I make sure both offices are compliant with OSHA regulations. Not only do I help our clinical staff, but I also work on marketing. I graduated with an associates degree in graphic design so Ido all the contest flyers as well as Facebook and Instagram.
I have been a mascot of Alvarez Orthodontics for overnine years! I love to hang out with the staff and meet people when we visit festivals and community days.In my free time, I like to sleep, play with my toys, and eat (eating foods that are good for your TEETHis my favorite). I especially love eggs, wild salmon and apples!
I am the newest member of the Alvarez Orthoteam, having joined this lastFebruary. At first I was a little shy meeting our patients at our Girl Scout event, but I am becoming much more social. If you pet me or give me a treat, I will be your friend forever! I really like making people SMILE!
At Alvarez Orthodontics, our patients are happy with both their new smiles and the overall treatment experience. Each one of our patients is special. We feel it is important to make them feel comfortable to ask questions at any time.

My husband, son and myself all have seen Dr. Alvarez for our orthodontic treatment. The staff is always friendly and courteous, provide options all options and do not pressure you into a decision. I have nothing but great things to say! They treat you as apart of the family, my husband was last seen about 2 years ago and they continue to ask how he is doing and remember things that make you feel more than just a patient. If your in need of orthodontic treatment come here!!

We've had a wonderful experience with my son the past year and a half and I plan on bringing my other kids here once the need arises (not having the need arise would be even better!). We are always in and out promptly and they've made it fun and interactive for the kids! The get tickets each time they come in, for prize drawings. There's always a guess how many game going on and there is even a game filled with video games for them to play. The entire staff is always very friendly and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend this office for your orthodontic needs!

I appreciate that when I had an issue with Alvarez Orthodontics and expressed my frustration to staff on the phone, Dr. Alvarez called me promptly, apologized, and worked to resolve the issue. I respect fellow business owners who maintain high standards and take a personal interest in seeing customers taken care of.

When we joined this practice over 2 years ago I thought very highly of the staff and their service but now they have greedily taken on far more patients than they can actually support and the service is awful. You cannot ever get appointments as they are just fully booked with no time for existing patients. I would not recommend this practice for that reason.

I would not recommend. I came to Dr. Alvarez practice asking practically begging for his help and he pretty much told me there was nothing he can do for me. I had a bad experience with a previous orthodontist and wanted to move forward with from what I thought was a more reputable knowledgeable orthodontist. He labeled me as a class II bite with crowding. He knew I had a bad bite yet told me to seek a TMJ specialist instead because he THOUGHT that's where the pain was coming from. After looking at someone's bite and realizing that it's bad you should know that's why they are possible experiencing pain. Having a bad bite throws off everything including TMJ. So I went and got diagnosed by the the TMJ specialist and the TMJ specialist said its not your TMJ, your bite is off and not proper which I already knew. But Dr. Alvarez wanted to just throw me off to somebody else not caring that I have an infant kid and pleaded for his help to fix my bite. After he received the report from the TMJ specialist he still didn't consider treatment for me and basically just left me in the dessert no referrals, no recommendations nothing. Poor service poor professionalism poor practice. With that being said I did find a more reputable orthodontist and will begin treatment next Thursday and can finally put this nightmare behind me. God just knew that Dr. Alvarez wasn't a good fit for me and that is why I am being treated by someone else.
