Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Alvarez graduated from Colegio San Jose, in 1984. He received his bachelors degree in biology from King's College in 1988. Dr. Alvarez earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery bycompleting four years of training at the University of Maryland School ofDentistry, graduating fifth in his class. He graduated magna cum laude with several honors, including induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society and the Gorgas Dental Honor Society. Dr. Alvarez also was awarded the Williams and Wilkins Anatomy Award. Dr. Alvarez completed three years of specialty training in orthodontics during his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
In every facet of his life, Dr. Alvarez has worked hard to be the very best, and he is committed to continuing to do so by bringing you the very best in orthodontic care. Dr. Alvarez has three sons: John Luis, Christopher, and Dylan. He and his wife Christine consider them to be their proudest achievements.
In order to provide our patients with the highest level of care available today, continuing education is an ongoing top priority for Dr. Alvarez and his staff. Dr. Alvarez regularly attends local and national meetings. He stays current with all leading publications, including the Journal of the American Dental Association, the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.
As you will see below, many of us have years and years of experience in the dental and orthodontic field. In addition to this experience, we feel what really distinguishes our team and makes us so special is our commitment to making sure each and every one of our patients is treated individually with respect, compassion and gentleness. I have been a receptionist at Alvarez Orthodontics since 1999, and also handle the insurance for the office. It is a pleasure to come to work every day and really enjoy your job, your boss, and the people you come in contact with each day. It is fun to talk with the patients and find out what they are up to with school and their activities.
I am a Treatment Coordinator here at Alvarez Orthodontics, so I have the pleasure ofmeetingnew patients and makingthem feel at ease. I have been in the orthodontic field since 2002 and have proudly worked with Alvarez Orthodontics since 2007. Dr. Alvarez is professional and caring to our patients and staff. We have an amazing team and it makes it so enjoyable to come to work.
Born in Massachusetts, I now reside in Center Valley with my husband and two children. My children keep us busy with the multiple sports they play throughout the year. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, gardening, taking care of my chickens, as well as the outdoors, with hiking and kayaking. I look forward to meeting you soon to help you get started withyour orthodontic care!
I enjoy meeting new patients and welcoming them to our practice. Its a pleasure to watch how our patients smiles are transformed, along with the joy they express when their braces are removed. I have been working in orthodontics for thirteen years, all of which have been here at Alvarez Orthodontics. I have a bachelors degree in education and have had formal training as a dental and orthodontic assistant.
My wonderful husband and I have four beautiful children and threeprecious grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my grandchildrenand working out with my husband. I look forward to helping shape your smile for a sparkling future.
I have been working with the Alvarez Orthodontics team for more than six years. I am a receptionist here at Alvarez Orthodontics. I have worked in the dental field since 1982, and with Dr. Alvarez since 2000. I enjoy the opportunity to get to know our patients over the course of their treatment and see them finish with a beautiful smile.
It has always been my ambition to make someone smile. For over 12 years, I have enjoyed working in the orthodontic field. I consider myself to be a versatile person which allows me to be able to work with patients of all age groups and personalities with ease. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with a caring and professional team. I enjoy playing and/or watching any type of sport; hanging out with my husband, friends and family; teaching our cat Sputnik new tricks; and, of course, eating all types of food!
I began working as a receptionist at Alvare Orthodontics over a year ago and it has been a pleasure getting to know our patients. Everyone here is like extended family. We all work well together tokeep the schedulerunning smoothly. I look forward to coming to work each day because my colleagues are so nice and we have fun together. My husband Hugh and I have four children, Alex, Nick, Jack and Kaylee. We also have a dog named Buddy.
I have been an orthodontic assistant for more than tenyears. My favorite part of my job is getting to know all of the patients and seeing their beautiful smiles when they are all finished with treatment.

I am in training as a clinical assistant and have been with Alvarez Orthodontics for five years. I make sure both offices are compliant with OSHA regulations. Not only do I help our clinical staff, but I also work on marketing. I graduated with an associates degree in graphic design so Ido all the contest flyers as well as Facebook and Instagram.
I have been a mascot of Alvarez Orthodontics for overnine years! I love to hang out with the staff and meet people when we visit festivals and community days.In my free time, I like to sleep, play with my toys, and eat (eating foods that are good for your TEETHis my favorite). I especially love eggs, wild salmon and apples!
I am the newest member of the Alvarez Orthoteam, having joined this lastFebruary. At first I was a little shy meeting our patients at our Girl Scout event, but I am becoming much more social. If you pet me or give me a treat, I will be your friend forever! I really like making people SMILE!

This place is adorable and so clean! The staff are very kind, I was helped by Amber and she was so wonderful! She was gentle, not rushed, patient and answered any questions. Front desk staff are great and Dr. Alvarez is just the best. Always a pleasure to go here.

Throughout the time I spent getting my braces adjusted here, I have never had a poor experience. Dr. Alvarez and his staff were always friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and did not hesitate to help with any of my needs. The work that is done is efficient and effective, I highly recommend getting work done here!

Got my braces done here and I would highly recommend. Dr. Alvarez is a great and friendly guy and all of the ortho techs are nice! My teeth are nice and straight and have been for years now thanks to Alvarez!

Stay away! My daughter was a patient here for almost two years. They put her in braces following an expansion and prior to her permanent teeth coming in. They charge sky high pricing for a cheaply made product and claim it to be the best on the market. When the product breaks they blame your child and your at home care even though you follow their instructions verbatim. After expressing my dissatisfaction on several occasions with the staff I received a letter stating they will no longer treat my child, not once did Dr. Alvarez reach out to me personally regarding my concerns. Due to the poor ortho plan provided by their office my daughter will need oral surgery to correct misalignment that is causing her canine teeth to grow in over permanent teeth and will also need another set of braces for 30 months. Dr. Alvarez's main concern is not your child but, rather how much money he can squeeze out of you, even when it means creating serious damage. Do yourself a favor and stay away, there are plenty of other orthodontist in this area willing to hold off until the right time instead of misaligning teeth so they can keep you coming back.

All four of my children were patients of Alvarez Orthodontics. Recently, my college student needed her retainer repaired. The office could not have more helpful. It was if we never left. Once a patient always a patient. They treated us like family.
