Altitude Oral and Facial Surgery - General dentist in Denver, CO

When it comes to finding a Denver oral surgeon you can trust, many patients simply rely on their general dentists to provide a referral. This is an excellent option and good oral surgeons receive the majority of their patients through referrals. However, its important that you understand the oral surgeon your dentist refers you to is just one of your many options.

At Altitude Oral Maxillofacial Implant Center, you are working with proven, highly-skilled surgeons. Were honored to receive so many referrals from so many talented dentists. We take that hand off as a huge token of trust and we work diligently to ensure every patient receives world-class care.

Dr. Fangman achieved both his undergraduate degree and his doctorate from Ohio State University before going on to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY. Today, he has been working in this challenging and rewarding field for seven years so far. He enjoys all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a particular interest in dental implant surgery, wisdom tooth removal, treating facial trauma, reconstructive surgery, and cleft lip/palate surgery. He is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Colorado State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Metro Denver Dental Society, and the American Association of Dental Anesthesiology.

What Dr. Fangman enjoys most about his job is being able to make an uncomfortable situation pleasant and fulfilling for patients in need! Today, he and his wife Lilian have twin sons. In his spare time, the doctor enjoys cycling with his family. He is also fluent in Spanish and regularly volunteers both here in Denver and on mission trips to other countries in order to provide cleft lip and palate surgery to young patients in need.

Dr. Ivey enjoys all aspects of oral surgery but has particular interests in facial trauma, nutrition, and whole health approaches to surgery, bone grafting, and regenerative medicine within dentistry. He enjoys fly fishing, skiing, and college sports. You will often see him in the clinic wearing Jordan basketball shoes, which he says are great for standing long hours but we really know its for his college team.

Dr. Ivey grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. He attended undergraduate college and dental school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, becoming an avid UNC fan over the course of the decade, completing his doctorate of dental surgery. He later moved to Texas and attended Texas Tech for Medical School where he earned his MD. While in medical school, he worked full time as a general dentist in Lubbock, Texas (while simultaneously enrolled in medical school) for 2 years and values this insight into his peers and the field of dentistry.

After Medical School, Dr. Ivey completed a residency internship in General Surgery and Trauma at JPS Fort Worth and Baylor Hospital. This was a unique experience providing insight and knowledge into total health, medicine, and complex medical patients and issues as well as life-threatening injuries and disease. His anesthesiology training was completed at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

Returning to dentistry and oral surgery, Dr. Ivey attended Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and the Texas A&M College of Dentistry for OMFS training. Here, he trained in facial trauma, reconstructive jaw surgeries, TMJ, and the full scope of dental surgery. He is a published author in implant dentistry, and also served as an editor for an Internal Medicine textbook for medical students. In Denver, he is a member of the Colorado Dental Associate, Metro Denver Dental Society, the ADA, AAOMS, and the Colorado Association of Oral Surgery.

I had such a great experience with Altitude. I had major tooth pain and decide to finally get my wisdom teeth out. I called the office and they got me in the next day! With the optiod available like stem cell replacement and exparel to numb the jaw, I'm on day 2 of recovery and feeling virtually pain free!!! So grateful to the staff, and how simple the process way. Highly recommend Altitude!

My partner and I both had our wisdom teeth removed as adults by Dr. Fangman, and we had the best experience! All the staff and doctors here really know what they're doing and treat you like family. After our experience, I have referred all of my friends to Altitude and they also had nothing but incredible things to say about Dr. Fangman and Dr. Ivey. As a 28 year old getting wisdom teeth out, it can be so difficult and scary. But they make sure you are informed and truly taken care of. This place ACTUALLY cares! 10/10 would recommend!

I first my consultation with Dr Anderson who took me through the surgery and my Xray expertly, explaining everything I needed to know, she really calmed my nerves and prepared me. Today I had three teeth removed painlessly. I'm impressed by the whole team and appreciate all of their hard work and patience. Couldn't recommend them more.

Fantastic, caring, reasonable prices, and best surgeons! My two sons had wisdom teeth extraction. Call the office and ask for Stephanie and she will discuss reasonable pricing etcetera! We paid out of pocket because our insurance didn't cover wisdom teeth extraction.

I was excited because I had been in tooth pain for almost a month, and my nieces have had good experiences. Plus they take Medicaid. Well excitement didn't last long. Paid $120 for sedation not complaining about price. However, I woke up DURING the procedure. They cut my lip and broke my other tooth with their tools I'm guessing... probably when I woke up crying. Anyway what a TERRIBLE experience and my face is bruised and swollen, l will never return

I am beyond impressed with my experience at this clinic! I am not sure if I thanked Dr. Fangman and his wonderful team profusely enough for making my first ever surgical procedure a positive one. Yesterday I had all four of my impacted wisdom teeth removed; I was extremely nervous about going under anesthesia/just the thought of surgery in general but both the team members and Dr. Fangman took the time to assuage my fears and make me feel comfortable. I was in and out of the office before I knew it. The friendly front desk staff also deserves a shout out! Additionally, the price I was quoted at my consultation was exactly what I paid, I appreciate that there were no surprise fees. Thank you to everyone at the 44th office for making an anxiety-inducing situation into a positive one! If I ever need more work done I would feel confident working with this team again and plan to recommend them to my friends and family.

I understand this is just my experience, and they absolutely did make it right. However, I wouldn't come back to this practice. Everyone was very friendly, but when a patient gets no notification that they moved their appointment to two hours later (and makes them sit around waiting to see if they get in), there's an issue. There was a complete and total breakdown of communication on their end (which they admitted, so some credit to them) but still, as someone who was going in to get work done for the first time ever, it made the process 10x more stressful than it should've been. Would give two stars, especially considering their borderline angry response to the other review here (that won't get you far, I really hope you edit that since it's the only view potential customers have of you on here!). But since they made it right, 3 stars...but wouldn't recommend and will be questioning any referrals from my personal dentist from here on out!

When I set my appointment I wrote down the address, time, and date. I repeated back to the rep that my appointment would be at 8:45 am (because I get paranoid of ever being late I repeat one or two times to be safe)and she agreed with me. The day before my surgery I got a text saying my appointment was at 8:15, I spoke to someone an hour before my appointment and they agreed it was at 8:15. So little bit of miscommunication there, as well as I had to remind them while waiting that the text asked me to give them my dental card which they did not ask for so I had to bring it up to give to them. From there the staff was nice, Dr. Fangman kept calling me bud which I was fine with, I told him I completely trusted his opinion on my extra tooth I hard that I shouldn't have it removed. It was not a secret that I was nervous because 1) I hate needles and 2) when waking of from being sedated I get scared because you just black out. I warned the nurse I may cry. I have anxiety it's understandable.... however where I am getting at is when I woke up, the first thing I remember is Dr. Fangman telling me, "You're an adult, stop crying." Very unprofessional on that regard. If you see a patient is anxious, understand you do mot know them and you don't know what it is exactly they are anxious about you dont know if they have had a bad experience previously or are just terrified of surgery's. I hate leaving bad reviews overall because you should tell some ASAP if they did a good job because it feels good and may make that person's day. When you go to leave a complaint, however, you should sit back and think if this is worth the time and if it really was them or if it was you having a bad day and finding your scapegoat. So this complaint is because I fear others may have the same experience. Also, when it comes to doctors and the messed up videos I have seen online, doctors need to understand that even though you think they wont remember, they just might. And unfortunately this is not the first time I have heard this told to someone too because the samething was said to my grandmother, however we are unsure if it was the same doctor for her, but it was the same location. Also, one thing I was not comfortable with is that the rep took my card to make my payment and I told the doctor and nurse I wanted my card back first, however the doctor just responded saying "Dont worry she isnt going shopping." And sedated me. I did not get my card before being sedated and when I came to wallet was back in my pocket with my card. I was not at all comfortable with this and did voice my concerns.

Dr. Brian is hands down the best oral surgeon I've ever experienced. I've spent over 26k in my lifetime on my teeth and wish every cent went to this clinic. SUPER friendly, efficient and intelligent staff. I'll be switching my insurance solely because of my experience with an oral extraction today from Altitude Oral and Facial Surgery. Straight up. Thank you Dr Brian!!! YOU ARE THE MAN

My experience with AOFS has been exceptional and I highly recommend Dr. Fangman to anyone who needs the best maxillofacial surgeon in the State. I had double jaw surgery one month ago and was expecting a very difficult recovery, judging from everything I had read. However, due to Dr. Fangman's precision and skill I had very little bruising and no nerve damage. He and his team were professional and compassionate throughout my entire treatment process, and I could not be happier with my result. Furthermore they were successful in getting my insurance to pay for this very expensive surgery, even though I had been denied coverage previously. I am so thankful for the way I was treated during this emotional and draining experience. I was treated with respect from everybody, and I felt completely secure in their care.
