From a young age, Dr. Marquez was fascinated by dentistry. During summer vacations, she would shadow her local dentist and help out at the clinic. Her interest in dentistry eventually led her to Meharry Medical College where she earned her DDS. She then went on to complete her General Practice Residency with the VA.Before opening her own practice here in Naples, Dr. Marquez gained years of valuable experience working in other dental offices. At these larger practices, she was able to treat patients and help them maintain their smiles, but she began to see that people were often treated as numbers rather than being given the proper time and attention they deserved during their visits and treatment.Now that she has a practice of her own, Dr. Marquez can focus on individualized care, always taking the time to get to know her patients and educating them on their treatment plans. At Altamar Dental Studio, the entire team strives to create an environment where every patient feels like a friend and where communication is prioritized.
Born and raised in a family of health professionals, Dr. Marino was always intrigued by how beauty and health intertwined and showed an inclination for the visual arts such as portrait sketching, painting, and photography.
Dr. Marino graduated with a bachelors degree in biology from Florida International University in Miami, Florida before going into dental school. Julio C. Marino, DDS is a graduate from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry where he also completed a General Practice Residency and had stints at the Tennessee Valley Veteran Affairs System. Dr. Marino has a proven track record and has served the Naples community for 4 years and now is ready to come home to Altamar Dental Studio.Dr. Marino is passionate about full-mouth rehabilitations. He has worked on over 2,000 complete dentures. He is a member of the prestigious American Academy of Clear Aligners and an Invisalign provider. He also completed the Digital Smile Design Residency 1 with a focus in facially driven designed smiles.Outside of the office, Dr. Marino enjoys quality family time with his daughter and wife. He is an avid pickleball player and watch enthusiast. He also just picked up paddleboarding.

Jessica Johnson is my front desk administrator, she likes us to call her 'Ecka'. She is originally from the Philippines. Ecka is also a trained chef. She started working in the Dentistry field in Colorado and from there, it has become a passion to serve the patients. Ecka loves the Naples community, and she is very excited to work at Altamar Dental Studio. She has a beautiful daughter, and in her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Jazmine Valenzuela is my dental assistant. Jazmine was born and raised in Naples. She is very passionate about Dentistry, and serving her community. She loves dancing, horse riding and spending time with friends and family. She is very lively and enthusiastic, and she loves to eat everything that Ecka cooks. Yamila moved to Naples when she was only 6 years old. She is very detail oriented with a lot of experience in Dentures. Before joining Altamar Dental Studio she worked with Dr. Marino for years, so seeing them work together makes you think that they can read each others minds. She has two beautiful children and enjoys spending time with them. Success isnt always about greatness, It is about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success, greatness will come.
Established in Collier County, Wounded Warriors of Collier County is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. The mission of Wounded Warriors of Collier County is to assist with the needs of Veterans and their families, with the focus on education, housing, and mental health. The vision of Wounded Warriors of Collier County is to see that No Veteran is Left Behind in our county. Through our work and efforts, the community will rally around our Veterans by providing and coordination resources to meet the unique needs of Veterans.
Altamar Dental Studio provides free dental services to Veterans through the Wounded Warriors of Collier County. We have also participated in the 2020 homeless Veteran count, providing dental screenings to the homeless population in Collier County.

Caring, warm, professional Dentist, Dr Marquez. Hygenist is top notch- so gentle! I'm on the Perio plan. Got a quote for a crown, and will get a 20% discount - that even at full price seems very affordable. They have all the latest technology & show you pictures of areas they are concerned about! Highly recommended.

This is the best dentist office I've ever been to! Dr. Shirley is absolutely amazing. I've always had a fear of the dentist and she takes her time to make sure I'm comfortable and frequently checks if I'm doing okay during procedures. She always explains what she's doing and assures everything will be fine. I can't forget the amazing hygienist who did my cleaning after I haven't had one in years. She was also very sweet during the cleaning and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The office really takes their time with their patients and they go above and beyond to make sure your experience is a positive one. By far the most comfortable I've felt at any dentist office. I'll definitely be recommending them to everyone in need of a dentist.

Dr. Marquez is great! I had a bad toothache and she was able to take me in that same morning and took care of the problem. She did my crown and some fillings before as well. She's very friendly and efficient.

Dr. Shirley Marquez is not only extremely professional, she is sweet and kind, and always makes you feel comfortable and welcome. She listens to make sure she understands your needs. She is very gentle, and always explains what she is doing. She checks in with you often to ask how you are doing. She loves what she does and it shows in every interaction and in all her work. She is exceptionally talented! She is also very genuine! I trust her expertise with any dental concern. I would highly recommend her to friends, family or co-workers. She is wonderful!!!!!

I love Altamar Dental. Everyone is friendly and kind. Their office is a beautiful spa like color and they play very calming music. We bought their dental plan and it has been a great deal for us. I highly recommend them. I see Dr. Marino....he is great!
