Infection control in our office is also very important to us. Dr. Raposo has been practicing Oral Surgery in Boulder County since 1999. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery specialty training at Denver General Hospital in 1999. He is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dentistry. He graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Raposo is certified in Basic Life Support (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He is a diplomat of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and maintains his Board certification with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He currently maintains privileges at Avista Adventist Hospital and Childrens Hospital Colorado. Dr. Raposos clinical interest include dentoalveolar surgery, including removal of wisdom teeth, dental and facial trauma, general anesthesia and IV sedation, oral pathology, dental implants, and bone grafting.
He was born in Portugal and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. Dr Raposo has been married to his beautiful wife Tara for over 25 years who is a teacher in the Boulder school system. Dr Raposo and his staff are extremely competent, friendly and efficient. The office energy is great, and the doctor and staff work together seamlessly. We waited a little too long for wisdom teeth removal for my daughter due to Covid. Her teeth were enormous, but they were able to fit her in, in short order, and surgery went smoothly. My daughter also has quite a bit of anxiety surrounding medical procedures, but the office and staff were welcoming, going above and beyond expectations for before and after surgery, to help her understand the procedure and ease her into things. For me, they were very helpful in assisting with scheduling, and insurance coverage verification, quickly clearing up a mistake on our insurance side. Despite a later-date wisdom tooth extraction, my daughter required no narcotics due to a post surgery treatment offered for this purpose. Dr Raposo answered all of our questions and follow-up calls promptly, and eagerly saw her several times after the surgery to allay concerns and provide treatment for any post surgery discomfort. I've had two previous children who have had wisdom teeth extractions and we saw three different area surgeons. This was by far the best experience and I'd recommend Dr Raposo for any oral surgery needs.

Dr Raposo is AMAZING!! He did my implant 15 years ago and it is still fabulous! He has worked on extractions for my kiddo and it was a great experience! We send everyone we know to Dr Raposo! His Staff is also wonderful - helpful, kind and very professional!

I was so impressed with my experience at Alpine Valley Oral Surgery. I had my upper wisdom teeth extracted, and the whole process was so much faster and comfortable than I expected. The staff and doctors answered every question I had and took such good care of me. I was awake during the extraction and I can guarantee they are very professional. If I need more oral surgery in the future I would go back here, no questions asked!!

The Alpine Valley Oral Surgery staff were amazing and did a wonderful job! They are very caring for their patients and treat them extremely well. I had two lower wisdom teeth removed and was in no pain during or after the operation. Dr. Raposo followed up with me after the operation to make sure everything was going well. Dr. Reposo and his staff are consummate professional. They are incredibly thorough and organized and able to complete procedures with a minimum of pain. Dr. Repoza personally followed up with me after my tooth extraction and implant. The entire experience was incredibly positive. I recommend them highly.

I practiced general dentistry for a more than a dozen years in Boulder County and have been a professor at the CU School of Dental Medicine for over six years now. Recently I referred my sons to Dr. Raposo for extraction of their third molars. Although I haven't had the opportunity to refer many patients to him recently as I'm not practicing in Boulder Valley anymore, there was nowhere else I would have considered sending my boys. In all the time I practiced and referred to Dr. Raposo, I never heard one complaint from a patient who underwent procedures in his office. This includes hundreds of patient referrals if not more. His staff has always been very pleasant, helpful and attentive before, during and after the procedures. Dr. Raposo stays current on pain control and surgical techniques and I have not met his equal for surgical skill. My boys both had challenging extractions, but were in and out quickly and experienced zero post operative complications. Outstanding oral surgeon.

Dr. Raposo, his dental staff and front office staff are amazing. A few years ago I had a very bad infection in my jaw. It involved multiple surgeries with multiple dental professionals. Dr. Raposo told me early in the process that it would be a long and difficult road and he was not wrong. The care he and his staff provided over a multi-year period cannot be given high enough praise. They are excellent at their jobs, skilled, kind and compassionate. I saw them so often that I actually miss them these days. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Raposo.

I was referred to Dr. Raposo by my regular dentist in order to get some wisdom teeth extracted. Even though the partially impacted teeth's roots had curled around the nerve, the surgery was incredibly successful and painless. The staff were incredibly kind, worked with me to determine my best course of action in terms of insurance, and made the experience a remarkably positive one. Dr. Raposo is a personable and highly skilled oral surgeon whom I would certainly recommend to anyone in need or oral surgery. At all steps of the way - initial consultation, prep, surgery, and post-operative care/follow-up - I feel I received the best care possible. The availability of his staff and the fact that they make all of their pre- and post-operative care instructions readily available online is evidence of how well they treat their patients. Despite the horror stories I had heard from friends and family about wisdom teeth extractions and the recovery process, especially getting this done as an adult, I had an incredibly positive experience at Alpine Valley Oral Surgery and my recovery period seemed to be less than a day.
