Broke off a tooth and was in pain, so called this dentist office. Person that answered the phone seemed quite uncaring and said unless I was an established patient, she couldn't help me. When I asked where I might get care or get in to see a dentist, she just said I would have to call around. Thanks for nothing.

As an individual that doesn't love spending time in a dental chair, Dr Secrest and his staff are top notch. My anxiety is gone when I have been in the Dental chair at this office. Not only that but my children aren't afraid of going to the dentist. They actually like it because of the cool prize at the end of the visit. State of the art building and professional staff. Highly recommend!! If I could give more than five stars I would!

After having been a patient of Dr. McLean for many years, whom I was very happy with, he phased his patients over the Alpena Family dentistry, dr. Seacrest. Most of his staff went there, including the hygienists I was familiar with. I only saw Dr. McLean there a couple of times. Dr. Seacrest is not the friendly, caring dentist that Dr. McLean was but that was ok. Today I had a problem and arrived 4 minutes late. I was about to push the "call" button to let them know I was on my way. I had turned around to get the antibiotic I thought I need to take since having hip surgery. Turned out I didn't need it but they expressed their displeasure and told me they would have expected me to call sooner. I admit I was in the wrong for being late, but sometimes things happen. When I got there I let the doctor know that I didn't really like the way they had spoken to me about it. He got very defensive, accused me of being argumentative, and said he didn't know if he wanted to proceed, so I said fine, let's not. This was for $6000 of crown work. When I arrived at the office, it was very windy and it pulled the door out of my hands. I grabbed it and pulled it shut. I'm not very strong. I don't know if they thought I slammed the door or something, but I didn't. I made arrangements to go to another dentist. It's just a shame. I haven't been a client of Seacrest that long. I wish I had switched back when Dr. McLean first let us know about phasing into retirement. I was used to a dentist and staff that cared about me. I would not recommend this dental clinic.

Most unprofessional, childish and rude bunch of staff I've EVER ran across!!! When you bring an issue to their attention you are met with argumentative responses, down talk and finger pointing without any consideration to their own wrong doing. They interrupt while you're trying to speak, try to overtalk you and don't want to hear anything you have to say. I DO NOT recommend this "family" oriented dentist office. I nor has my family ever been treated with such disrespect from any staff at any clinic!! Be aware that this dentist office is not as well reputable as one may think. To drop a child patient during a pandemic because theyd like how a parent stood up for their rights and the rights of their child says a lot about how this clinic handles the well-being of their clients and the extend of care they actually have for their patients and their families. What a sad shame in these already trying times. Demands and threats?! Lol Really? There were, as you are well aware, no demands or threats. I understand the safety of others, but this was a parent, fully masked and the child wanted her dad with her as she was scared/nervous prior to the appointment as this appointment was for other concerns than a regular check-up or cleaning. I've spoken to other parents/family members I know who are patients of other dental clinics and all have said that if the child request the parent to be there they allow it. As compassion, care and comfort of the CHILD is important!! So your care, compassion and resolve is to drop a child patient in the middle of a pandemic because you didn't like how the parent reacted? Wow. How professional of you. I called to have... well, in hopes to have... a decent human conversation to hopefully resolve this issue in a mature way, but was instead met with unprofessional, rude and dismissive mannerisms and you back your staff in their unprofessional way of handling a situation. Wow...again, how professional of you. I am taking my business elsewhere, another dental clinic that knows how to handle their minor patients in a more caring way and their families with more respect. If you truly value your practice and your patients then learn how to handle issues in a better, more professional, mature way than what I was just dealt. I am so disappointed in your clinic, you and your staff, I thought you were better than the way you've recently shown and to drop a child patient in the middle of a pandemic when all is already so scary and up in the air, leaving us to try and find another dentist for her dental Care is absurd and morally wrong, all because you don't like how a parent stood up for themselves and their child. To disregard their concerns, feelings and in no way try to comfort/reassure them but to resort to childish, unprofessional and rude tactics is beyond disheartening. I would like to add, before dropping this and moving on to another and hopefully more professional and compassionate dentist office, that I feel we adult's, in the midst of this pandemic have somewhat forgotten how hard this has been on our youth, the young ones that don't really understand and have seen such basic things such as compassion in other areas go out the window. It's been scary and stressful on us all but especially on them. Frightened and confused by all that has taken place and all that is changing around them. My child(ren) isn't used to not being allowed a parent for comfort when and if needed and felt she was going to be pushed into doing something she was uncomfortable with because that's the "new rules", of course that made her more frightened and upset which in turn caused her parent upset & stress and instead of trying to comfort, reassure and perhaps reschedule the appointment so the parents may have time to make a decision that fit them/their child best, you decided to disrespect, disregard and dismiss your minor patient. You're the 1st clinic in the medical/dental community that we've been during this whole thing that hasn't allowed a masked parent in the room with our child(ren) at their request.

We had originally started with Dr. McLain and as he phased out, we came to Alpena Family Dentistry. From the ladies in front who are so friendly and so helpful, to everyone in the back, who show nothing but professionalism, we are so happy to be a part of Dr. Secrest patients. I highly recommend using their services.

I just had a tooth pulled last week and thought Dr. Secrest and his assistant were compassionate, wonderfully kind, professional, and gentle. When the tooth came out I said 'that was easy' and later realized that it was easy for me! I think this dental clinic is top notch and that Dr. Secrest truly cares about the welfare of his patients. The office staff is also just as caring!

The staff is always so friendly and professional. I started with Dr McLain 18 years ago and have continued now with Dr Seacrest. Myself and my family have always felt comfortable and confident that the care we receive is the best available.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Secrest & his staff. My children actually get excited about going to the dentist, which is really a testament to how they treat their patients. They are always friendly & efficient. I highly recommend Alpena Family Dentistry.

Always a wonderful experience with the staff. Shelly and Annie go above and beyond to schedule appointments to fit my work schedule and if I have an emergency they are very amenable. Brenda, Dr.'s assistant is awesome and Cheryl does wonderful cleanings! And I can't forget to mention Dr. Secrest, he's a great dentist and always honest and fair.

I would give a 10/10 if it was an option! Dr. Secrest is an exceptional dentist, he has always been so kind and trusting. The staff is wonderful and always smiling (even under the masks!) I would recommend this office to anyone who asks, I couldn't ask for anyone better to take care of my pearly whites!

Dr Seacrest is THE WORST!!! He is focused on the all mighty dollar and nothing else!! He made Dentures for my Mother.. They are horrible, they NEVER fit her correctly and he charged her a fortune and continued to charge her each visit when she returned to try and get a better fit.. She finally gave up because the $80 he charged her to make some adjustment that took 3 minutes and never helped was just ridiculous.. Told my Sister to not go to him.. She did, first filling SHES ever needed.. But he says oh you need a crown.. Ya not even let's try a filling but you MAY need a crown.. Straight to you need a crown.. Because that's a couple grand in his pocket!! DONT TRUST THIS MAN!! He will tell you you need the most expensive procedure and doesn't stand by his work!
