Let me introduce myself, I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. As a young man I enjoyed many outdoor activities including: soccer, camping, mountain biking, snowboarding and surfing. I graduated near the top of my class from North High School in Bakersfield, California. Following graduation I moved to Nampa, Idaho to attend Northwest Nazarene University (NNU). I graduated with honors on the Deans list earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. I then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Meharry Medical University College (MMU). I graduated from MMU in the top 5% of my class earning my DDS (Doctorate of Dental Surgery) degree. While in Idaho and Tennessee I was able to enjoy all of the outdoor activities that I love except surfing. I missed California and surfing so much during the eight years of my education, I decided to move back. I chose Ventura for its wonderful climate, friendly people and small town atmosphere. I met my wife Jan Salzer, and earned my California State Dental License in 2000. I was an associate dentist in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties for the first two years of my career. In April of 2002 I opened my own private practice in Ventura, California. Aloha Dental Care was born! In 2008 I expanded into a second location in Carpinteria, California by acquiring the practice of retiring Dr. John Conti.
I am a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), the Santa Barbara / Ventura County Dental Society (SBVCDS), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD).
I have three children, Lauren, Megan and Ryan. I am very excited to soon be a grandfather for the first time to Harper Luna Payne (Laurens first child). I thoroughly enjoy my patients and staff and am glad to say that I have developed a great friendship with them over the years. I am looking forward to serving these communities for many years. I hope that you will allow me to take care of you and your entire family now, and for many years to come.

Annie, the dental hygienist is friendly, professional, and helpful. she is personable, knowledgeable, gentle, and very skilled at her profession. This was the first time ever I actually looked forward to my dental cleaning. I am 77 years old, have lived in six different states, and she is the best hygienist in my experience. Everything was explained and I had plenty of time to ask questions. Even though this office is out of network for me, I choose to return because everyone is so friendly.

On January 10th 2022 Dr Harrington extracted a rear upper molar because it had developed a deep pocket and was not going to ever be any better. He and the assistant Jen did a superb job. I am a repeat patient and will be. I would recommend Aloha dental in Carpinteria to anyone for a dentist experience

Not pleased or satisfied especially with customer sevice. I have excellent insurance as educator with no copay and free cleanings and xrays every year and we called to see if this dentist also accepted our insurance which I saw through our providers website. They said yes and we brought our twin 7 year olds there. Weeks later we get bill for$289 for a simple cleaning and xray. That is with some taken off for my insurance too! So for 2 kids after insurance they have a bill for $289! My wife called twice and no remedy or apology either time. We will be going back to our original dentist in Ventura as this is all covered there and great customer service. My wife said it was such a minimal checkup too and that to charge over$500 for 2 kids is a shame and is not worth it period. It's your bate and switch. Over $200 is a new patient fee. What a sham. My old dentist said everything is still covered through them and they had better customer service. My mistake trying to find dentist closer to home. Lesson learned. Stay away.
