Dr. Parmer, grew up in the west Texas town of Levelland and attended Texas Tech University. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1991. After finishing dental school, he served as a dentist in the US Air Force for three years. His first year, he completed a general dental residency at Langley AFB in Virginia. His last two years, he served as a general dentist at Dyess AFB in Abilene.
Dr. Parmer then returned to San Antonio for his oral & maxillofacial surgery training. He received his Doctor of Medicine at UTHSC-SA in 1997. He then completed his general surgery internship at University Hospital and his oral & maxillofacial residency at UTHSC-SA.
Dr. Parmer is the past President of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. A diplomate (board certified) of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He is also a member of the Fort Worth District Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, North Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Parmer contributes to programs for the underprivileged, including the Save A Smile program, Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles, and Texas Donated Dental Services. He has participated in several medical missions to Mexico.
Dr. Macholl was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in the small town of Hubertus, Wisconsin. He graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1991. After graduation, Dr. Macholl joined the United States Army.
His first assignment was as a resident in general dentistry at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. This was followed by three years of service in Mannheim, Germany. Dr. Macholl was selected by the Army for oral surgery training and sent to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. There, he received his Doctor of Medicine and completed an internship in general surgery. Dr. Macholl finished his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2001.
Since finishing his residency, Dr. James Macholl has been assigned to Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois, Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. Dr. Macholl also spent one year training in a cosmetic surgery fellowship. He retired as a Colonel from the US Army with more than 23 years of service. He spent the last eight years of his military career involved in the care of service members wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Dr. Macholl joined Alliance Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the summer of 2014. He spends his free time, with his wife and their 4 fur- babies, entertaining family and friends. Along with his wife, Dr. Macholl works with local charities and travels on medical mission trips within the Central American region.
Dr. Lew graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a double major in Biology and Business Administration. Shortly thereafter, he attended dental school at Columbia University in New York City. During dental school, Dr. Lew was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship by the U.S. Army and was selected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Lews surgical training took place at San Antonio Military Medical Center, which is one of the U.S. Armys premier medical centers dealing with Level I trauma, burn and combat injuries. During his residency, Dr. Lew participated in multiple research projects at the Institute of Surgical Research and is a Major General Joseph L. Bernier Research Award recipient.
After finishing his residency, Dr. Lew was assigned to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, where he worked with Dr. Macholl taking care of America's wounded warriors from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Lew later went back to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX to train residents.
After leaving the military, Dr. Lew worked in private practice in Tucson, AZ. While practicing in Tucson, he took on a new challenge and graduated from University of Arizona with a Master in Business Administration in 2018. Dr. Lew is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Board Certified).

If anyone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is in need of an oral surgeon, please look into Alliance Oral & Maxillofacial. Dr. Macholl has 30 years experience and has done wisdom teeth extractions on patients with CAH. When we met with Dr. Macholl for the initial consult, we were very impressed with the staff and facility. We were ecstatic to find out he knew all about the condition. He refused to schedule us until he had spoken directly with the endocrinologist & later emailed us to confirm the treatment plan. The day of surgery, my son was a nervous wreck and Dr. Macholl administered the IV steroids while reassuring my son that he would be ok. His calming demeanor and professionalism even settled our nerves as we waited for the procedure to be over. Around 6p the day of surgery, Dr. Macholl called us to check in on Dakota to make sure all was well and let us know we could call him if anything came up. There's great bedside manner and then there's stellar quality of care. Dr. Macholl is the real deal.

Dr. Lou and his staff took the best care of me, I had two wisdom teeth removed. Their customer service was the best I've ever had! Dr. Lou sat and listened to my every concern and answered every question. He performed a perfect surgery here I am 2.5 weeks later fully healed I'll always recommend people here! 10/10

I'm really thankful for the experience I had with Doctor Macholl and the nurse's they made me feel very relaxed and not scared.. informed me about the whole process and called me later to check on me .. best dentist ever

Wait time was ridiculous with no apology, doctor had not even looked at my medical history before prescribing treatment and they attempt to get you to use sedation when it is unnecessary (this is because insurance will not cover it so they charge cash pay for anesthesia). Go anywhere else. There are so many oral surgeon in North Texas now that you do not need to put up with sub par service.

I cannot express the gratitude of how amazing this place is!!! First of all I can't spell all the names of the staff but let me tell you when I say how great, compassionate, friendly well over the top high end humane these people are!!! THANK YOU!!! One million trillion thank you!!! My husband was in so much pain and we couldn't find a dentist who would work on his dental issues not to mention he has a severe dental anxiety but talking to everyone he was so relaxed and was not scared. I called over 7 different places I'm glad I found you guys!!! I don't want to loose my husband due to his dental issues he has a very loving family and because of y'all he will have a better life!!!! -anna

My first time here and I have always had anxieties about going to the dentist since a botched surgery in Chicago back in 2007 but not here. I felt safe and also I love this place! Dr. Parmer was awesome and his whole office staff are wonderful people. They made me feel comfortable when I had my dental surgery this past Friday and were all so friendly and caring. I am eternally grateful for the care they all took with me and for Dr. Parmer reassuring me that I am in good hands. I am grateful that my dentist suggested him! You will not be disappointed! I recently had my wisdom teeth removed with Dr. Macholl and I was given the best experience from not only Dr. Macholl himself, but his nursing staff as well. The nurses were extremely caring towards me and thoughtful, throughout the entire process as they made sure I was comfortable at all times. A few hours after the procedure, Dr. Macholl contacted my mom HIMSELF to follow up about me post surgery and made sure we knew we can feel free to contact him at any time if there were any further medical concerns. Dr. Macholl was empathetic enough to even welcome me back to his office five days after surgery, to give me peace of mind that everything was healing as it was supposed to. On top of everything, there was not a time where I had to take pain killers!! Dr. Macholl left me with absolutely NO PAIN post the procedure and through the entire recovery process(WHICH IS ALMOST NEVER HEARD OF)! Overall, Dr. Macholl has angel hands!! He is the kind of Doctor who you can tell, really cares for his patients and wants nothing but the best for them. And a prime example of what every Doctor should be. If you are looking for a Doctor to remove your Wisdom Teeth, I promise you that Dr. Macholl is the one to go to. You will not be disappointed! Words cannot describe how thankful I am for the care from him and his staff.

Dr Macholl is amazing and very caring. He squeezed me as I was in so much pain and made me very comfortable and his staff took excellent care of me. Had two tooth extracted with iv and never felt it. He called to check on me the same evening to see how I was doing. I'm very afraid of dental work but he was awesome and no judgment. We'll definitely go back if I need too. I highly recommend this place! Dr Lew and his staff are absolutely amazing! They truly care about people. Not only is Dr Lew a skilled surgeon but he is a kind human being. The procedure was quick and painless. I was starting to panic after my procedure, and he held my hand while his staff went out to get my husband. They reassured me that I was ok and they let me know I could take as long as I needed. It meant so much to me. Throughout my procedure they kept asking me if I was ok. When I called, the staff was caring and kind and helped answer any questions I had. I've visited many medical/dental office etc and you don't get this kind of treatment like you do here. Thank you all!!

Dr. Lew and his team were great! After putting off having all wisdom teeth removed for many years, the procedure was quick, easy and painless. I've definitely heard horror stories about wisdom teeth removal but my fears were put to rest with this location and team. Great chair side manner and even called me on the weekend to make sure all was well.

My tooth had just started hurting a few days ago. I thought it was a cavity for sure. Turns out it's an infection below the root! I called the emergency number and even though he only saw my husband, Dr. Macholl squeezed me in his already booked schedule at his Haslet office. Pulled my tooth and fixed the problem. So extremely nice!! Girls were very nice and helpful. What an amazing dentist!! Referring to everyone I know.

I had the best experience here getting my wisdom teeth out. I had been putting off this surgery for about 5 years because I was so nervous and scared to get all 4 teeth removed. I had so much anxiety about it but when I went in for the consultation, everyone was so kind and welcoming which put me at ease about the whole thing. Dr. Lew made me feel so comfortable about the surgery and answered all the questions I had. I really felt like he actually cared and went above and beyond when explaining everything. I have some TMJ issues that I was concerned about and he accommodated that when performing the surgery. The ladies at the front desk are sooo helpful and nice. They answered all my emails super quick and were so sweet every time I called. My surgery was quick with no complications. I will always recommend this place to anyone who needs to get their wisdom teeth out. I'm so thankful for a place with people that truly care about their patients. I am going into the medical field myself-- and I hope to treat my future patients the same way. Thank you so much Dr. Lew and staff!

I LOVE this practice! Dr Parmer is the best!!! I'm a general dentist and have been in practice for 25 years. I have referred to many oral surgeons in the area but chose this office for my kids wisdom teeth removal. Dr. Parmer is experienced, meticulous and caring. I would highly recommend him for your families oral surgery!
