A native of Silver Springs, Maryland, Dr. Patrice Barber received a full academic scholarship to Florida A&M University upon graduation from high school. After graduating summa cum laude with a degree in biology/pre-dentistry, she went on to continue her education at the University of Maryland Dental School. Here she was a recipient of the U.S. Armys Health Professions Scholarship, and graduated with honors.
Upon entering the Army, Dr. Barber was commissioned as a Captain and attended a year-long residency in general dentistry (AEGD-1) at Fort Sill, OK before completing a tour at Camp Casey, Korea. She completed her military obligation at Fort Bragg and transitioned to civilian dentistry in 2004. She then spent 5 years as an associate at a group practice in the Fayetteville area before striking out on her own as a family dentist.
As Dr. Patrice Barber has gained more than 12 years of experience as a general dentist, she has seen firsthand that continuing education is important. Her dedication to keeping abreast of current technologies and techniques provides the expertise and skill required to meet the varying needs of many patients. Accordingly, Dr. Barber is currently pursuing her fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, is a fellow of the International Congress of Implant Dentistry, and is a certified provider of Six Month Smiles, a short-term adult orthodontics system. In addition, she maintains membership in the American Dental Association, Old North Dental Society, North Carolina Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of the office, Dr. Barber regularly makes time to speak at local schools and community centers about the dental field and oral health issues. She is active at her church, serving as a mentor to youths, and is a member of the choir. She is happily married to a logisticianin the Army, and has two wonderful sons.

We treated my 6 year old daughter's teeth in Alliance Family Dental. The work was planned to be difficult; it was necessary to treat 6 teeth at once. We had experience in other clinics and the attitude and approach frankly disappointed me. Can we find a generally good place here... Yesss Dr. Barber and her assistant have really delighted my daughter and me. Approach to the child, professionalism and responsibility at the highest level. We happy that found them.

I had such a amazing experience with Dr. Barber! I have high anxiety when going to the dentist and I had NO PAIN while she worked on my teeth. The staff was welcoming, respectful, and kind from the first call- all the way through to the end of my visit. They were also very accommodating to my specific dental needs. You can tell they truly care about their patients. I am very pleased! Thank you!

Excellent experience every time that I go to the dental office. I have moved my children to this dentist because of the technology, friendliness, knowledge, and even more an amazing Dentist! Every visit is New and Innovating personal experience for my children and I. We have not just had cleanings but have also had surgical procedures and referrals to specialist, which can be needed sometimes. The Dentist is always very well mannered, intelligent in her profession to present to customer level of understanding, and very welcoming no matter what the outcome or news has to be. Thank you, Dr. Barber for all you do for our community and my family, I wish I would have switched dental offices sooner!

great practice! dr. barber is so kind and her assistant nala was super gentle. they both explained everything as they were doing it and talked me through the entire process several times. i have massive dental anxiety, to the point where i have to be medicated for most procedures, but i felt very safe and in good hands here!

For people afraid of the dentist, this is your new spot. People have been sleeping on this GEM.. Dr Barber is amazing. Straight forward, great explanation and advice. They are a group of beautiful, warm spirited women. Im so relieved to have found a spot I can relax and feel good about keeping up with my Dental Care..

Listen- I'm doing this in bulletin points because, who wants to read a paragraph right now? *Warm, friendly staff: They're kind, thoughtful, and have zero qualms about working with you to circumvent whatever obstacles you have. *Quality care is first and foremost: You'll never feel that they're squeezing you for every penny. You'll be informed of the consequences (good and bad) of every option, health wise and financial wise. *Bilingual receptionist: English isn't your first language- they've got you covered. *An office filled with women: I'm not saying this contributes to my first two points, but I mean, what's better than calm, caring energy when you're having your tooth pulled? *Educated staff: Could this have been included in my first bullet? Yes. But you're here now, settle in. The staff continue education. I can't remember it all, but I'm sure if you ask they'll tell you about it. *Community give back:They're in schools doing screenings, giving out toothbrushes, talking about flossing. And this is just random things I've heard sitting in the chair. No one's throwing it in your face. *Veteran, WOC, small business: Did I hit all your ally keywords? Good. I have been going to Dr. Barber's office since 2010 when hubby got stationed at Ft. Bragg. Dr. Barber is caring, sweet, funny, and always compassionate. She'd ask about family, and my business when I would see her, she just has that knack to make you comfortable and relaxed! The staff are all great too! From the front desk to Tara, who was my hygienist the entire time, and Tracey who I saw every two weeks to get my braces tightened. They are all caring, funny and help with ANY worries and concerns you have. I have since moved out of state and worry I will not find the same loving and caring environment they have created at Alliance Family Dental. I miss them all already! They are like a family there, and if you are looking for a dentist, look no further. Alliance is the best dentist I have had in ALL my years and from all the places I have been! Thank you guys for taking such great care of my teeth! <3
