Dr. Beltrn was born in Quito, Ecuador. Inspired by the medical career of his father, Dr. Juan Manuel Beltrn and uncle, Dr. Luis Beltrn, both highly successful and respected dentists, him and his brother David set out on an educational journey to become dental surgeons which touched the steps of the University of South Florida (Biology Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, Masters in Public Health), Harvard School of Dental Medicine (Doctorate of Medical Dentistry), University of Texas (Medicine Doctorate, 1 year of General Surgery internship, 5 years of Oral Maxillofacial Residency) and Rutgers University (Implantology Certificate).

With over 14 years of studies and training in the top schools and medical centers in America, including Massachusetts General Hospital and M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center not only is Dr. Beltrn one of the best dental surgeon and implantologist available, but he is also trained as a medical doctor as well as an anesthesiologist, with cumulative skills few doctors collectively possess.

The Beltrn family has grown three generations of dentists which started with Joss father, Dr. Juan Manuel Beltrn, a general dentist. In addition, his uncle Dr. Luis Alberto Beltrn also became a general dentist. Both his brother David (Periodontist & D.M.D.) and sister Rosa (M.D. D.D.S., Pathologist) followed in their fathers legacy. The newest generation of doctors are his nephew Dr. Alexander Manuel Beltrn (D.D.S.) and Dr. Kevin Michael Coy (M.D. Cardiologist).

Dr. Beltrn is a fanatic of life. Married to a beautiful wife, Lindsay Beltran, and father of two handsome boys, he spends his spare time training for cycling, triathlons and marathons that take him all over the world. He has done 9 Iron Mans, 16 half Iron Mans, and countless marathons and half marathons.

Allez Dental Surgery by Dr. Beltran - General dentist in Tampa, FL

With 75% of American adults having dental anxiety and 25% of them suffer from dental phobia, people often postpone the much needed dental procedures. Our Anesthesia Experience encompasses several options for having a great experience doing much needed dental work. Find out what's right for you

We want to ensure that you have a safe, comfortable and have a smooth experience at Allez Dental Surgery. The success of the surgery is very much dependent on the anesthesia experience that makes you feel comfortable. This is a very personal decision. The deeper levels of anesthesia will relieve the anxiety of getting dental surgery. The more comfort, then the surgery is more effectively and efficiently performed. If you are scared of the dentist, then this is the magic potion.

When nerves, anxiety, moving, and shaking of dental phobia happen during the dental surgery, it becomes harder to perform the surgery and so, the surgery takes longer and can endanger the procedure and you.

The first type is local anesthesia commonly known as novocaine, but we use newer anesthetics that are stronger (septicaine) and can last longer (marcaine). This is the most common anesthesia in dentistry.

The local anesthesia numbs the inside of the mouth around the tooth only. The outside of the mouth is not numb. The pressure or pushing from the outside of the mouth is still felt. You are awake and conscious during the procedure, and see and hear everything. And please remember, some of the teeth are right next to the ear, it will be very loud!

This anesthesia is good for the high pain threshold cold stone patient that has tattoos all over the body that nothing makes them flinch - although, there are patients that have tolerated a lot of tattoos but still have dental phobia. Anybody else, please get more sedation to smoothen the dental surgery experience. Local anesthesia cost is included in the surgical procedure.

The second type of anesthesia is a combination of the laughing gas (nitrous oxide) with the local anesthesia. Nitrous oxide is called laughing gas because with it, the kids feel a tickling to the tips of the finger and toes making them laugh. The advantage of the laughing gas is that it has a relaxing effect, but you are still awake and conscious.

The laughing gas is delivered via a mask that goes over the nose. It is breathed in mixed with oxygen. It takes effect in 5 minutes, stays on during the procedure, and after the procedure is done, the effect wears off in 5 minutes. While you are under the effect of the laughing gas, the area in the mouth around the tooth is numbed up with the local anesthesia.

With the laughing gas, you are relaxed, awake, and conscious during the procedure, and you don't mind your surroundings. You do not feel anything inside your mouth due to the local anesthetic. You will feel pressure or pushing from the outside of your mouth, but you don't mind it as much. The laughing gas is for patients that get a little nervous. It is good for procedures shorter than 30 minutes. Please note that the laughing gas does NOT put you to sleep.

The third type of anesthesia is a combination of oral sedation with the laughing gas and local anesthesia. The advantage of this type of anesthesia is that it relaxes you into a state of semi-conscious sedation. The effect is like trying to stay late watching TV, dozing away, and waking up, and seeing little bits and pieces of the movie.

The oral sedation is a combination of pills taken an hour before the procedure. Once the pills are taken, it is not recommended to drive for 24 hours. The oral sedation gives a deep sensation of relaxation. It is combined with the laughing gas and the local anesthesia that was previously explained.

The oral sedation puts you in a state of twilight anesthesia where you doze out, and do not mind the surroundings, further relaxed than the laughing gas alone. Most of the time, patients do not remember anything. This level of anesthesia is for the nervous patient that does not want to be put to completely sleep under unconscious IV sedation, and of course, it is less costly, too.

The last type of anesthesia is intravenous (IV) sedation or commonly known as sleep dentistry. This level of anesthesia is very common for dental surgery. You go into unconscious sleep and do not feel, hear, or see anything. For your safety, this level of anesthesia is not performed on the same day as the exam. It is recommended to eat dinner the night before and not eat or drink anything after midnight. An hour before the procedure, a pill cocktail is taken to help relax. Once the pills are taken, you cannot drive the rest of the day and someone has to drive you to and from the office.

At the office, the laughing gas will be administered and under the effect of the laughing gas, an intravenous line is started on your arm. The sedation medications are delivered through the IV line producing the effect of unconscious sedation.

The experience has been described as a lapse of time feeling like going to sleep for 5 minutes but in reality, an hour or more will go by. When awake, the inside of the mouth will have been numbed because the local anesthesia is given while you are asleep before the procedure is started.

For many of our 65+ community, dental ailments are common. This can include missing teeth, generalized tooth decay, periodontal issues, and much more! Such dental issues can severely impact the quality of life that these individuals experience.

On top of the dental distress many of these patients experience, the struggle is real to find dental offices who accept their Medicare insurance. Fear and Frustration can drive many to give up on the quest for good dental health all together!

When decay and dental issues become passed a point of repair, patients must consider the unfortunate decision to remove their teeth. Tooth decay can not only effect patients smile, but it can cause severe damage to the rest of our body. Recent studies done at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, the alma mater of our lead Doctor Dr. Jos Beltrn, concluded that one in five adults over the age of 65 have untreated tooth decay. The bacteria causing this decay in the mouth can cause life-threatening complications if left untreated.

Patients who suffer from dental decay are more likely to have high blood pressure, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and or osteoporosis - although it's not directly proven that dental decay causes these ailments. Therefore, it is critical to maintain good oral health.

Removing the teeth badly effected by dental decay is a start to getting back to good health. However, the usual way of replacing this newly-missing-tooth is the traditional denture that reduce our chewing force drastically.

Natural teeth allow for up to 540 pounds of force per square inch, making it a breeze to chew into apples, corn on the cob, and steaks! Dentures, on the other hand, can only accommodate approximately 50 pounds of force per square inch.

Patients begin to despise the artificial teeth that slip and slide in their mouth and prohibit them from enjoying life the way they could before. Eventually the sorrow sets in for these individuals of feeling like they will never be able to eat the foods they loved or live a lifestyle that they are comfortable with.

Now some may say, why would dental implants be the best option for me? There are several dental implant supported restoration options that are available to patients looking for an alternative to traditional dentures! From fixed solutions to Snap-On removable options, Allez Dental can find the dental implant treatment best suited for your needs and for your budget!

Most solutions allow for patients to get back to the lifestyle they strive for, including enjoying the foods they love without the worry of if their teeth are going to slip slide or fall out!The best news is at Allez Dental, we can utilize patients Medicare plans to reduce qualifying patients out of pocket expense for common dental implant procedures by up to 25-30%!

Patients who are experiencing infection in their bone (or osseous) below the apex of the tooth root may qualify depending on their medical necessity to remove that infection. The treatments associated with removing the osseous infection would then in turn result in benefit utilization for bone grafting, prosthesis (or dentures) and in some cases even implants!

The detailed exam with the doctor will take not only a dental approach to your care but will also examine your medical history and ensure that the recommended treatment suits all aspects of your needs. Sedation options will be reviewed and recommended to you so that when its time for your treatment, all you will need to do is rest easy while our doctor improves your smile!

On the day of your procedure, you will leave the office with new teeth, ready to smile. Although some dental implant treatment options may require a healing period in which your teeth are not supported by the implants from day one, the wait for the healing is well worth the reward of being able to get back to living life to the fullest!

By utilizing the maximum benefits available to you through your policy, we will strive to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses to make the dental implant treatment of your dreams a reality. Many patients in your same situation have made the investment in their health, their smile, and their life by choosing dental implants and a Medicare provider who can help reduce their costs.

A choice to have your dental implant procedures done at Allez Dental is a choice to have a certified Medicare Provider with years of helping patients just like you return to a state of dental health! With qualified medical billers assisting in the process, your utilization of benefits has never been easier!

Got wisdom tooth out sometime around march/april.. wasnt successful, went back to find that I still had 2 pieces of the wisdom tooth still in place, so they get em out with no charge and that the dr that removed my tooth was no longer there.. but see I didnt go back because of pain, I went back cause I still cant feel a few bottom front teeth, lower lip and chin and my last appt was 2 months ago.. I was told by the 2nd dentist that checked me out that i needed nerve repairing, told this dentist that but they didnt listen and I told them this b4 the 2nd surgery, they are not equipped to repair damage done like this. They'll tell u, u r in good hands but they didnt take care of me or listen to my conserns.. I reached out a week ago and haven't heard back so I'm reposting a similar review I did when they finally reached out to me b4

Due to a wisdom tooth being removed they were aware of the risk which is why I believed they were going to be careful but due to the facts it's been 3 weeks and I still can't feel 3 front bottom teeth/lip/chin I know they were not careful.. they didn't even show me the xray after the tooth was removed or the tooth.. I felt alot of pressure on my neck so that points out for me that they weren't as careful as they should have been and I've had another wisdom removed that didn't feel this bad, I'm in worse shape now than b4 I went that I swear to on my mother's grave I'm not lying.. I don't care how nice people can be it doesn't make me feel safe or comfortable until the work they do reflects they care I been there a 2nd time and was shown the 1st xray again.. a 2nd xray was done but I wasn't shown that xray, ask me to come back to do what.. look at the area like that's going to help.. I have to work just like everybody, so I don't tend to waste my time going back in forth when uve said there's nothing that can be done.. ill just have to wait til it heal so that's why I'm not coming back, there's nothing that can be done or tell me what can be done besides look in my mouth and prescript more drugs, just a waste of my time and money, I wouldn't be trusting this company to do the implants, 1st experience will always determine for me if I'll be back or not when it comes to things like this or chiropractor n such 4 month since tooth removed and still has not healed.. I went to another dentist that was more advanced with machines.. showed me that there were 2 pieces of nerves sticking out of my gum where my gum was sewed up to the wall of my mouth and injuried a nerve in the wall of my mouth as well. This dentist is reckless, they dont deserve 1 star from me They reached out to me after this this review so I went back a 3rd time on my birthday 8/8 (I did not want to go) did another xray, they believe there's an infection so it need to be cleaned out. There was no injection when I went to get a 2nd opinion and still couldn't feel my lower lip, chin and 3 bottom teeth.. they offered to refund to remove this review but since I never received the refund I'm not deleting this review.. they also offered to clean my gum out when I know for a facts there's more to be done than that

Wisdom teeth extraction (all 4)- I called on 7/20/22 and spoke with Jen who was kind enough to move around the schedule and get me in 7/22/22. I previously went for a tooth extraction in June 2022, which went pretty smoothly. At that time, Dr. Allez advised i needed all 4 wisdom teeth removed and i advised I will come back the next month to get it done. I arrived to the office, was prepped and the extraction was done. I did go under anesthesia IV. I literally had no pain, I was a little uncomfortable, but no pain during the follow days and weeks. I followed the instructions, made sure I remained medicated on time and the process was amazing. I didn't have to go to my post-op visit because i am healing up great. I was able to eat solid foods by Sunday (after 2 days) and just was extra careful due to the stitches. The 2 days I couldn't eat solids, I drank homemade banana and peanut butter smoothies, yogurt, applesauce and soup. Honestly I really didn't have a big appetite those 2 days, so I really didn't need more than that. They called me the day of the extraction and the follow business day to be sure I was okay. 10/10 experience!!!

5 stars isn't enough! I'm so anxious with the dentist and get really bad anxiety with any kind of dental visit. I called a few weeks ago due to issues with my wisdom teeth and they were so friendly and helpful over the phone! They set me up for an exam for the next day and it was awesome! They explained everything they needed to do in detail and helped me understand what would be the best course of action for my teeth. I was set up for wisdom teeth extraction for THE NEXT DAY! Again - I was so nervous, I've never been under anesthesia or had any major dental work but they are so kind and caring. I was in and out and they gave thorough, detailed instructions to my husband for my meds to help keep my pain at a minimum. They checked up on me multiple times during the following week to make sure I was doing okay and see if I had any concerns. 100% recommend Dr. Beltrans office if you ever need anything done! They definitely know how to make you feel calm, comfortable and cared about during everything!

Notes from a happy patient: It is clear that from the time that you enter the office that the entire staff is professional and welcoming. What could have been a traumatic experience was instead one filled with positives. The office is nicely appointed, exceptionally clean and the staff, from the Dentist to the receptionist, were kind, professional and a pleasure to work with. I'm extending a special shout out to Jen for her willingness to go out of her way to make this a good experience. Highly recommend this practice.

The staff and Dr. Beltran fit me into their schedules when my temporary bridge came off Through this whole procedure to get implants completed I have been impressed with the entire staff at Allez Dental Surgery, in particular, Dr. Jose Beltran. Another dentist in Hillsborough County originally referred me to Dr. Beltan because of his professional credentials and amazing results he had seen on other patients of Dr. Beltran. I heartily recommend Allez Dental Sugery to anyone who needs an oral surgeon and implant work done.
