Dr. Shanail Allen has been in the dental profession for over twenty years. A native of Detroit Michigan she always knew she wanted to become a dentist. Dr. Allen attended the University of Detroit Mercy where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and a certificate in dental hygiene. After working as a dental assistant then a registered dental hygienist for a few years, Dr. Allen decided to further her education and attended Howard Universitys College of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Allen strongly believes in community service. She ran two school based programs in underserved areas of Detroit. She has provided dental hygiene services in nursing homes and has served as a volunteer with several dental screening programs. Other past community service endeavors include Give Kids a Smile, the Bright Smiles Bright Futures Program, Missions of Mercy, and Old Towne Dental Clinic. Dr. Allen has also provided oral health presentations to area day cares and preschool programs. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America Inc. Dr. Allen also participates in community service projects with these organizations.
Dr. Allen is an adjunct faculty member of Thomas Nelsons Dental Hygiene Program. Shes a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Peninsula Dental Society, Old Dominion Dental Society, Norman Lassiter Dental Society and American Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Allen is married to Dr. Brandon Allen, a pediatric dentist in Richmond. They have two daughters, Brielle and Brynn. In her spare time Dr. Allen enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, hot yoga and spending time with family and friends.

My service was very good. The staff in the office was very nice. The doctor is so caring and explained every procedure she was doing. She would answer all your questions in a professional way. I just love her as a very good dentist and professional.

I always appreciate the care and compassion that Dr Allen and her team has extended to me. I feel so confident after my visits. I know I made the right choice in choosing this dental practice. I love that Dr Allen takes her time, and patience to listen to, and explain everything to me, making sure I understand the procedure. I'm VERY HAPPY with my implants! I've recommended a friend, who brought her teenage kids, and they were very satisfied after their visit.

On time appointment; attention to detail. The Dental Assistant and the Dentist were professional and explained all procedures and a "game plan" very well. Everything was very clean, neat and comfortable.

Dr. Allen is fabulous as usual. She is great at what she does and very knowledgeable. Great bed side manners as well. There was a new hygienist named Regina who cleaned my teeth. I was a bit reluctant because I only prefer Dr Allen to clean my teeth but Regina was great and very thorough. I appreciate both of them. Wonderful work!

Dr Allen is REALLY good. She fixed a tooth that my previous dentist didn't want to touch & while sitting in a dental chair has certain negative connotations, she made it easy. 1,000 % proffesional & very cool to talk music with . Her team is great & the hygienist, Regina, is awesome!!!!!
