Dr. Hugh G. Allen is a 1990 graduate of the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington D.C. He completed a Dental Internship in General Practice at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York in July 1991. He then associated in private practices in Brooklyn, NY, Union and Trenton, NJ before moving his family to Miramar, Florida in September of 1996. Dr Allen has continued to excel in his field and his current practice has rapidly grown since opening on May 16, 2003. There are many factors that Dr. Allen attributes his success to. Foremost is the faith that when God places you in a position to do his work and you are obedient to that assignment, great things usually happen.
Dr. Allen and his staff provide individualized care, 'Our patients feel like they are family. We truly care for our patients.' Dr. Allen is great one on one, has excellent chairside manner and is a great listener. Patients are always complimenting on his touch. Dr. Allen has been married to his wife Novel for 18 years and they have a daughter Danielle. He is an active member of the Covenant Seventh Day Adventist Church. In his spare time, Dr. Allen is usually in the gym (YMCA), reading or watching TV (Sports or CNN). He is an avid Washington Redskins' and Miami Heat fan.
Dr. Allen is active professionally. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the South Florida District Dental Association, the National Dental Association, the Miami-Dade County Dental Society (Treasurer for 4 years), the Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Laser Dentistry and CERECdoctors.com. He has completed many Continuing Education courses with special emphasis in Cosmetic Dentistry and Occlusion. He has participated in many community health fairs and career days. He has given his time and talents/money to homeless ministries and to 'fostering an interest in careers in dentistry' in young African-Americans.

Novel is a Registered Dietitian by profession. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition. She then continued to Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY where she completed a Master's Degree in Health Management. She brings a wealth of management experience to the practice.
She has great people skills. Patients comment on their experience with her on the telephone: 'thorough, assertive, great people person, great follow through and follow up' are some of the superlatives our patients use to describe Novel.

I met Dr Allen 1month ago on a referral from a colleague. Dr Allen is one of the most humble and kind dentists I have ever met. I particularly appreciated his thorough explanations and conservative approach. The surprise of the visit was meeting Sandra, his Dental Hygienist. A professional from the introduction, her knowledge of inflammation and dental care was the finest I have had in 6 decades of life. She was the FIRST to tell me of an anti-inflammatory toothpaste which would allow her to more effectively clean my teeth. I look forward to her ongoing care. As for Dr Allen, in a month or two, I shall begin a complete overall of all my teeth. It is truly time to invest in MY health, knowing that most people underestimate what oral inflammation can do to affect my overall health. I am completely comfortable in Sandra and Dr Allen's care and in 6 months will report how the claiber of my life changes from both of their care. Scott

My relationship with Dr Allen's office started years ago as a child. I remember absolutely disliking the dentist, and though that hasn't changed, all these years later Dr.Allen's team is the only team I trust too take care of my mouth! If you're looking for a Dentist, look for no further!

Allen Dental is a phenomenal dental practice. They are extremely professional and Uber competent but also compassionate and friendly. Dr. Allen, his hygienists and the office staff will "wow" you and make you glad you chose them.

I hated going to the dentist until I started coming here. It's always a great experience. The entire team is amazing and always providing a comfortable environment. I really appreciate the cleanliness of the office as well as all the covid protocols they have put into place. My questions/doubts are answered about any procedure/process. If I could, I would give them more stars!

Dr. Allen has been my family's Dentist since 2003 or 2004. Every single time I walk through his door, his staff makes me feel like family. I literally would not be able to visit for a few years in a row. I make 1 phone call to the office and my voice is immediately recognized. Just like family! I love You for that Lady!
