Dr. Allen grew up in Idaho, earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Idaho State University in 2002. He attended the Medical College of Virginia (Virginia Commonwealth University), graduating Magna Cum Laude with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2006.
Following dental school, Dr. Allen was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Air Force and completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington DC. This residency allowed him to expand his clinical knowledge and experience in all areas of dentistry. He offers a wide range of dental services including fillings, crowns and bridges, implant crowns, Invisalign clear braces, sedation and dental surgery, including wisdom teeth extractions.
Dr. Allen loves Alaska because of the wonderful people and the many outdoor activities available here. He is an avid skier and is a member of the Anchorage Ski Club. He volunteers with Big Brothers and Big Sisters Alaska and donates dental services to the UAA Free Dental Day. He is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves on JBER and overseas the Dental Program at the 477th Fighter Group.
Most of his free time revolves around his active and growing family. He and his wife, Virginie, love to travel and to explore (with a special affinity to her French homeland). They have three kids and love supporting them in their schooling, extracurricular activities, and sports.
In 2020, we undertook a visionary expansion and complete remodel of the practice. We expanded from four to seven dental treatment rooms. We added additional square footage in the waiting room, administrative space, and break room. We prioritized top-of-the-line dental equipment, plentiful storage, fully digital dental records and radiography, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful design elements.

Our whole family has received the best care from the entire staff at Allen Dental. I am always glad to spread the word when friends are asking for a good dentist. So great that they have offices in Eagle River and Anchorage now.

Allen Dental bent over backwards to accommodate my schedule. They worked with me to try and fit both of my daughters in at the same time on short notice. They were patient with me when I misread my schedule and goofed and we were able to get the kids teeth looked at with professional service.

I don't like going to the dentist. But from the time I arrived, the staff welcomed me and it was very inviting. Starr the hygienist was very sweet and helped me to be relaxed. Dr. Maynard was very friendly and it was a very pleasant visit. I'm glad I have them as my dental team.

Dr. Allen flexed his schedule so I could get in with an emergency issue. He and his assistant Bobbie took very good care of me and promptly resolved the issue. Dr. Allen even called me back that evening to check up on me. Thank you both!!

I was extremely nervous walking in because of bad dental experience in my past but Kimberly, the dental hygienist who helped me, made me feel so comfortable. By the time she started cleaning, I was relaxed and nerves were pretty much nonexistent. Dr. Schwartz was also amazing! This dental clinic was by far the best experience I have had. The ladies in the front were very welcoming too!

I've always loved the care my kids and I have received at Allen Dental. My kids love going to the dentist, since everyone is accommodating to their needs, and very compassionate when performing procedures.

I never liked going to the Dentist. The staff at this office has completely changed my mind! They put my comfort and needs first. I felt as though they were most interested in making my experience great. I highly recommend them! My only regret is that I'm visiting from Texas, and I finally found a Dentist I like!!

Dr. Allen and the staff at Allen Dental Group are amazing! We transferred to Allen Dental Group after having a few bad experiences with a previous dentist. Dr. Allen and his wonderful staff have restored my trust in dentists. I also had Invisalign done and I am so happy with the outcome. The staff made coming in regularly for my Invisalign treatments a breeze.
