We specialize in all types of orthodontic treatment for children, adolescents and adults. We use state-of-the-art appliances such as miniature metal, ceramic, and gold braces, ClearCorrect clear aligners, and modern lighter wires that make treatment as efficient and comfortable as possible. We use digital X-rays and digital imaging in making initial records that allow us to plan your treatment in the most comprehensive manner. Our caring, knowledgeable team will discuss your treatment plan with you on an individual basis with plenty of opportunity for questions and explanations. We are OSHA compliant with all aspects of sterilization. All of this allows us to deliver the highest quality orthodontic treatment in a caring environment.
Dr. Snodgrass graduated cum laude from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1985. He completed a General Practice Residency in Hartford, CT at St. Francis Hospital in 1986, and then was in private practice as a general dentist for five years in Sharon, CT. In 1990 he began his two-year Graduate Orthodontic Residency at the State University of Buffalo. Upon completion, he had a very successful orthodontic practice at the Guthrie Clinic and Medical Center in Sayre, PA for 12 years, where he served as the Chief of the Orthodontic Department for the last nine of those years.
In 2003 Dr. Snodgrass was asked to relocate his family to Cumberland, and join Dr. McLuckie in practice. He is an active member of the Allegany / Garrett County Dental Society. Dr. Snodgrass is also a member of the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the American Dental Association. He prides himself on staying current with all aspects of orthodontic treatment through regular continuing education and journal research.
Dr. Valerie Ryan is a native of Cumberland, MD and graduated from Bishop Walsh High School in 2005. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Ryan then attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009. During her four years in Baltimore, Dr. Ryan was inducted into the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society. After dental school, she completed her three-year residency program at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, earning her Orthodontics specialty certificate and a Masters of Science degree in Orthodontics. She holds active memberships in the American Dental Association and Maryland State chapter, as well as the American Association of Orthodontics, Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontics, and the local Allegany Garrett Dental Society. She is familiar with the use of several types of orthodontic appliances and maintains certification in the Invisalign and Harmony Invisible lingual orthodontic systems. In addition to providing care to patients at our three local offices, Dr. Ryan also volunteers her time and services to the Orofacial team of The Childrens League Cumberland Cleft Clinic which provides free services to local cleft lip/palate children.
Valerie lives in Cumberland with her husband, Dr. Matthew Ryan, who is a physical therapist at Progressive Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center. In addition to spending time with family and friends, she enjoys cooking and traveling. She is excited to be back in the neighborhoodthis time as a member of the Allegany Orthodontics team! Dr. Ryan looks forward to seeing both new and familiar faces while she and Dr. Snodgrass work together to create beautiful smiles!

My now 11 yr old is seen at Allegheny Orthodontics. Everyone is not only professional, but very caring. My daughter always feels comfortable as each step is explained on her level of understanding. My family and I are very, very pleased, and look forward to continued care at Allegheny Orthodontics.

Will never go back here nothing but scam artist I was paying out of pocket every visit bc I thought I didn't have coverage and I did when I found out I did I called them and they said that I would be reimbursed for what I payed out of pocket and when I asked about it when I was there the lady said I never said that to you we can't do that but when you do come back to get your braces off there's a $55 charge remind you my insurance covers it all and I done called them to make sure. So I already have filed a lawsuit bc I have a recorded phone call of everything from start to finish so next time I see these scam artists it will be in a court room. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE PEOPLE DONT GO HERE !!!!!

They are the nicest staff and become like family. Makes you almost want to keep the braces on just to keep going back and visiting. I wouldn't recommend any other place just a wonderful place all around and never a wait to get in really.

Dr Ryan was very thorough and kind. Took her time to explain and answer all of our questions about the process of getting braces and what will happen over the next couple months. The office staff was great, explained the insurance information well and got us scheduled right away with appointments that work with our life.

I believe parents should be able to come in now in order to be updated on the process or at least a phone call while the child is in there in order to discuss process etc. My child is having major jaw surgery and we are somewhat in the dark about what is the current status. I feel there should be much more thorough follow up on what is going on in his process.

I called at 8:30am for a brace wire poking my daughter's cheek. They worked her in at 9:20am. She was in and out of the office in 10 minutes. 5/5 would recommend!
