After graduating from the Oregon Health Sciences University and completing a two-year residency, Dr. Thomas dedicated himself to being a lifelong learner. As such, he flies around the country multiple times a year for dental conferences and is a member of numerous prestigious dental associations including the American Dental Association, Salt Lake Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Crown Council, and Pacific Aesthetic Continuum.
Dr. Thomas feels blessed that his vocation is also his passion. In his free time, he gives dental seminars at the University of Utah, mentors, and is constantly studying the latest dental technology and techniques.
Dr. Brett Baker graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in Japanese language. After several years in the workforce, he decided to return to school and follow his true calling in dentistry in 2002. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006. At Pitt, he was the president of his dental school class and participated in mission trips to Jamaica to provide dental care to the citizens of Mavis Bank, Jamaica. After dental school, he completed a general practice residency at Carolinas Medical Center, a level 1 trauma hospital.
Dr. Baker has practiced dentistry in Southlake, TX for the past 12 years. Recently he and his wife moved back to Utah to be closer to their family and friends. In his spare time, Dr. Baker enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years, their 2 children, and his dog, Kona. He is an avid runner and cyclist having completed many marathons and IRONMAN in 2018. He loves staying active and is enjoying re-discovering the hiking trails on the Front and supporting his beloved Utes.
Modern scientific evidence is finding an increasing number of links between oral health and overall health. For example, gum disease can let bacteria to into your bloodstream and wreak havoc on your body, including your heart. A few diseases that have been linked to oral health are: diabetes, cardiovascular disease, pregnancy and birth complications, HIV/AIDS, osteoporosis, and others.
Dr. Thomas and his team understand the consequences of poor oral health and promote an offensive rather than defensive strategy. In addition to assessing the current state of your mouth, our team makes personalized recommendations to get in front of any possible future problems.
Dr. Thomas is a cosmetic dentist, which means he and his team are uniquely able to deliver premium results. In addition to standard schooling and training to become a general dentist, Dr. Thomas studied an additional five years to master the nuances of cosmetic dentistry. After this training, he became the first dentist in Utah accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Each time you get your in-office bleaching through the Smiles for Life program, 100% of the proceeds go to children around the world who are underprivileged, disabled, or seriously ill. Dr. Thomas team donates their time and the Smiles for Life Foundation donates the supplies, ensuring that every penny goes to helping kids in need.
Dr. Thomas also travels with the Smiles for Life Foundation as a volunteer dentist. These dentists go to underprivileged communities around the world and provide free dental care to those who cant afford treatment.

Dr. Thomas reshaped my veneers that I had originally gotten done from a different dentist that I didn't love. What I really liked about Dr. Thomas is he really listened to what I didn't like about my veneers and knew how to correct them. He understood that people have their own individual taste and style and is willing to cater to peoples personal likes and dislikes rather than just doing what he thinks makes a smile "perfect." I didn't want perfect teeth, I wanted my teeth with a color correction and my last dentist didn't quite understand that. Dr. Thomas shaped my veneers exactly how I told him I wanted them and I now LOVE them. They felt way too bulky before and now they fit my mouth and smile so much better and it feels like me. I had regretted the decision to get veneers at first but now am so happy I got them done and eventually found Dr. Thomas. I would have gone to him from the very beginning if I had known about him. He's very talented and genuinely cares about what his clients want.

Dr. Thomas and all of the staff are amazing!! I started off as a new patient last spring for regular cleanings and then did Invisalign. I had an 18 yr old crown that I've never liked how it looked and I get extra anxious about procedures. The staff listened to me and understood how to make me comfortable. Dr. Thomas replaced my crown and now I like both sides of my smile. Doing Invisalign with his team was very easy and I love my smile even more! Dr. Thomas and his team are so friendly and really want you to be happy with your teeth health and smile.

Dr Thomas and his cute staff have changed my life by changing my smile. My front tooth was broken at a young age and as I got older my tooth discolored and I was so self conscious. I was also able to change a few other things because they were so clear and hands on with every decision and options available

This is the best dentist in Utah. Every one is respectful, friendly and helpful - they go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and that the work that is done is thoroughly. They have a beautiful office in a great location. They are also extremely affordable!! They will work with you on payment plans or in-house plans if you don't have insurance. I went in for my cleaning and discovered I had three shallow cavities - Dr Thomas and his amazing staff got me in the next morning and had them handled in less than 20 minutes with no pain (no numbing needed). Very affordable (it cost a family member $410 for one filling at another dentist WITH insurance - it was less than $400 for a cleaning and three fillings at Dr Thomas with the same insurance). Highly recommend! I have also had Invisalign done with them and couldn't be happier. Dr Thomas will take the time to make sure you are happy.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love Dr. Thomas and his staff. This place is a godsend. I did a virtual consult just because I wanted an idea of what he could do and he honestly hit on every single thing I wanted to change about my smile without me even telling him. After my second appt when he did my prep and put on my temporaries I got in my car and just cried. You can't put a price tag on that feeling. I haven't stopped smiling since, I probably look a little insane at this point but I don't even care. Also Christina (prlegitimately had me cry laughing during my appointments, she is absolutely amazing at what she does and making you feel soo comfortable.

Thank you for my new smile! When I was younger, my orthodontist had recommended having my lateral teeth bonded as they were a bit too short and small. I had thought about doing this for some time though finally decided I was at a point in life where I could get things taken care of. Dr. Thomas was very patient and took time to listen to my concerns. He offered various options to address things that bothered me about my smile. At one point, I had asked a follow up question after completing the SmileVirtual Consult (so convenient!) - Dr. Thomas personally emailed me back the next morning. He made it clear that he was flexible regarding the different avenues we could take and invited me into the office so we could explore our options. I was blown away at how such a small, subtle change could make a big difference. I ended up choosing to have two, Durathin veneers placed (which allowed me to preserve as much of my natural teeth as possible - no tooth structure was removed, only minimal prepping of the surface). The process was smooth, from start to finish, and his staff are so friendly, responsive, and kind! I'm so glad I chose Dr. Thomas for my cosmetic dental work - the results are very natural. I love that things still look my smile, just a bit fuller and more balanced. You're in good hands with Dr. Thomas and his staff!
