Dr. Vives was raised in Staten Island, New York and received his undergraduate degree at Binghamton University. He then moved to New York City to attend Columbia University for his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Upon completion, he continued his dental education at Columbia University by earning a specialty certification in orthodontics.

In order to ensure that each of his patients receive the highest standard of service, Dr. Vives continuously furthers his education by staying current with all the advanced treatments. He continues his involvement with Columbia University as a part-time preclinical professor at the College of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Vives is married to Celest Fernandez-Vives, who he met during dental school. Together, they enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. His favorite hobbies include basketball, golf, tennis, and fantasy football.

Dr. Vives appreciates being able to better himself by helping others. He perceives his profession as not only helping patients attain the smile of their dreams, but to keep them smiling throughout treatment.

I used Dr Vives for my braces as a adult a few years ago and absolutely loved him and his office. Everyone that works there was always so nice and my teeth looked perfect at the end of 2 years. I live in Philly. It was an hour drive to this orthpdontics and it was worth it.There are many great things to say about this place. The receptionist and staff are incredibly friendly and treat you as if you are apart of their family. The retainers they produce and hand out are incredibly high quality and tight. In particular, the clear plastic retainers they make are thicker and as a result they last longer then they typically last (1-2 years) even if u grind your teeth.
