Dear Dr. Black! I don't know who is in charge of booking appointments in your office, but it's a mess. They booked me with a wrong doctor, and your main event receptionist expressed no apologies and made me feel like I was at fault somehow. Also, just recently i received a text message confirming my 10am appointment (that I have never booked), and a few hours later I received a text that my 2pm appointment was canceled( all on the same date). I think you are a great doctor, but it is getting a bit ridiculous.

I didn't like how the dentist made fun of my son teeth. Him and his assistant almost got cursed out but I know how to handle situations like this.

I took my son to his first dentist appointment there today and he was traumatized by what was happening to another boy. A little boy was crying and screaming in one of the rooms. I felt bad for the kid but then Dr. Black started YELLING at the kid. It was shocking. The dentist was yelling at a scared kid that was no more than five. Disgusting behavior let alone unprofessional. He yelled at the poor kid to STOP TALKING! STOP CRYING!! Over and over again. He would yell for a bit then stop and then start yelling again. Ridiculous behavior. We will never go there. And not at all kid friendly. There was nothing there in the rooms to help kids. Receptionist was also unfriendly and rude on the phone with the calls coming in. After she had me standing there for a few minutes without acknowledgement. Stay away from this place.

Dr Black was yelling at a young boy who was obviously upset. Screaming for 20 min. The receptionist was not understanding adding anything positive. A dentist SHOULD NEVER YELL AT ANYONE let alone a frightened little boy.

Dr black is the worst dr who needs to just not see children very rude to them and then of course my child is not going to be calm everytime he goes there he get hurt and so my son is screaming and calm down so he decides to see another patient when I was already waiting 1 damn hr then of course I'm going to be upset with a attitude then he wants to tell me ur a emergency patient I don't have to see you like ok you already numbed my son's mouth your going to take his teeth out this is not the 1st time I have had a bad experience but this time he went to far yelling at me

The best dentist I've been too. The entire staff is amazing and always very patient, including the receptionists. Dr. Black is very informative, helpful, honest, and he will listen to all of your concerns. They have provided quality care for both my son and I.

The reviews are true. I went a year or so ago and the dentist I had was African. It was busy that day, so she had a lot of clients. I was one of them. She injected the numbing solution and didn't come back for awhile. She ruined all my teeth. Her assistant was nice enough to wipe my tears away. After I signal her that I can feel the drill and it hurts. She yelled at me, "It doesn't hurt, let me do my job and stop crying!!!! Because it doesn't hurt!!!" This lady was aggressive, unprofessional, not compassionate and impatient! I pray she is not there. My family told me to go there and that was the worst experience of my life! I don't smile anymore, because she ruined my teeth forever but the lady with the blonde hair was extremely helpful and handed me facial tissue, because the dentist didn't care. Her assistant was more helpful than her. I believe they hire students, so they can move up to an official dental office. They didn't even give me a referral after she damaged my teeth! I wish I went to the other dentist everyone was talking about on the reviews. I think his name is Dr. Black, because that African lady ruined my teeth FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She said because I moved, I moved her hand to drill up another good tooth! Some people do not need to work here, like her! However, the blonde lady at the front desk and the lady that assisted the dentist was very helpful and caring of my situation. I immediately stopped going, because of that lady. Id give negative stars if I could.Dr Black is to impatient of a dentist to be working with children. He was so ruff with son's mouth he tore up the inside of his lips and cheek(I'm talking chunks gone) he also uses a papoose board ( I have now learned the AAPD highly discourages ped dentists from using them as it causes severe trauma and could cause physical damage as well and says those that do are very untrained) on my son and has now traumatized him. He's a cautious kid and scares easy. All he had to do was let us calm him down. When my son started choking and he told his assistant to take the suction away, his father tried to intervene and dr black got very upset. He proceeded to try to invoke my son's father for the rest of the time. My son is scared from this dentist. Really didn't seem to wanna take time with my child. I just want to warn parents with skiddish little ones this might not be the dentist for them

Dr. Black is literally the best dentist I've ever had. He's really concerned with doing good work, excellent at making sure you understand what he's doing. Plus he's very tiny and has a great personality. And he's really really good with kids.

Dr. Dimitri is amazing he is so skilled and so compassionate he knows what to do instantly in every situation . He was able to do extractions that I thought I was going to have to go to an oral surgeon for . The women in the office are excellent also . Jennifer helped me out so much I was in a lot of pain one time and couldn't get in anywhere and she got me in and taken care of even though they were already booked up . Thank you Jennifer and dr. D , you guys make this world a better place !!!

2nd time going up there and supposedly they have changed their hours. If you change your hours or days off please put it online and/or your phone and tell your workers! I knew ahead of the struggle with that situation ,so I called the day before to confirm the time and date and received a conformation and STILL today they were not there...

I had a crown put it and also had a cleaning. It was a great experience. I hate dental work and Dr. Black and his staff made it go smooth. He is very thorough and informative. I felt like I was in good hands.

Dr. Black is the best dentist i know.He is very very profesional,smart,patient and kind.Really no words to describe him and his job.My daughter is 4 years old and she is afraid of doctors and hospitals like every other kid,but Dr. Black i don't know how,make her to come again.Everywhere i went doctors said she needs total anestesia to be able to fix whole mouth ,but Dr. Black saved me and my daughter from this,he did her whole mouth in 4 appointments and did a very good job and without total anestesia.He is the best of the best doctor.

I absolutely love All Star Dental. I have visited the Joliet, Aurora, and Blue Island Illinois locations. The dentists were professional, very kind, and extremely patient with the care of my autistic son. These are the only dentists that I trust with my family's teeth. They were there for me and my family when we needed them. Highly highly recommended.
