Dr. Joe worked a variety of jobs before becoming a pediatric specialist. He was a lifeguard, counselor, tutor, and a high school biology teacher for six years. He received four awards for outstanding teaching in Maryland. Looking for a change, he applied to dental school.
After completing his DDS degree in Virginia, he entered a pediatric dental residency at the University of Minnesota. He completed the residency in 2008 and has been practicing as a specialist ever since. Dr. Joe loves his job and enjoys excellent rapport with children of all ages. Dr. Joe treasures spending time with his wife and three children. He likes weightlifting and running. He is passionate about skiing in the Rockies and freshwater fishing in Suffolk.
Dr. Brett aspired to be a dentist from a very young age; learning from his father and role model, Dr. Joe. He enrolled in James Madison University before completing his DDS at the Virginia Commonwealth School of Dentistry. During these years, Dr. Brett found that he had a passion for working with children, and completed the pediatric dentistry selective program between the Childrens Hospital of Richmond and VCU.
After graduation, Dr. Brett moved to Suffolk with his wife, Emily, and their son, Owen. Time spent with his family is by far Dr. Bretts favorite pastime. When not spending quality time with his wife and son, Dr. Brett loves to play sports and games of all kinds, but most of all, he likes playing the drums. He and his family are very excited to have joined the Suffolk community, and look forward to many years serving Southeast Virginia.

Omg the ladies in the office were so helpful. I showed up 5 hours to early, but they worked their magic and I didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes excellent job to everyone in the office and the dentist was very informative and polite Our last dentist in Texas was so rude, so it's so refreshing to have a new dentist at All Kids Dental of Suffolk

Every aspect of this practice is absolutely amazing. Every single person that works here is so kind and caring. Dr. Joe and Dr. Brett are both incredible! They are amazing with kids and at the same time, fast and efficient. My kids have had some fairly serious dental procedures yet they still love going to the dentist. You can tell every one that works here enjoys their job, and they are all great at what they do - from the staff at the front desk to the dental assistants/hygienists. Highly recommend!!!

I switched my family to this office after some not so great experiences at another dentist office. The change was immediately noticable. The kids can't wait to get cleanings and the ones who needed minor work done felt totally relaxed and comfortable throughout the process, plus I love that I could go back with the kids. Everyone from front desk to dental hygienists and doctor are incredibly welcoming, thorough and pleasant and I am so glad we made the change!

This was my 3.5 y/o daughter's first time at the dentist. They were able to calm her fears and she did so great . I think the flat screen TV on the ceiling had something to do with it
