They gave appointment but they never take you. When you come in they say you're appointment was moved, cancelled, or they don't have enough doctors to serve you at the time. The new manager and the reception cannot manage and plan ahead. They took so long and will also not listen to you just try to explain themselves and wronging the others not them.

Where to start, this place is full of a staff that is not considerate at all of your time and can get very rude. My grandfather had an appointment at 11 and we were here 5 min early and it is now 12:30 and we are still waiting. This is not the first time this has happened and we will be looking for a new place to take him. People do have lives and to be over an hr past the appointment time and still not be seen is unexceptionable. They constantly reschedule appointments. This is crazy .

My review is for "all family dental & braces" located in Elgin- Summit St. On August 12, 2022 my daughter had an appointment to remove all four of her wisdom teeth at this location. My first negative interaction with them was due to the fact that I didn't get a single call or email to remind us of the appointment a few days beforehand, which Is usually standard procedure when you have any type of scheduled appointments. On top of this, they didn't let me or my family know that our insurance was only going to cover two of the four teeth she had scheduled to be removed, until exactly ten minutes before the surgery was scheduled. If we had known our insurance only covered half the teeth, we could've been more informed and known whether or not to appeal this choice by our insurance company, or if we wanted to cancel the appointment and reschedule. Due to this we had no time to make a decision. Other than this, the surgery was performed well, by Dr. Edwin Gonzalez-Montoya. After the surgery no one emailed or called us to check how my daughter was healing and if she was doing well, which again, i had assumed was standard procedure. Everything would've worked out, but 18 days later my daughter woke up with her cheek as swollen as it was right after the surgery. I called and made an appointment that very day, and on August 30th at 11am, we returned to all family dental & braces in Elgin. We were seen by Dr. Harshkumar Patel, who said everything was fine and that this was part of the healing process. They took an X-Ray of her mouth, and he said there was nothing on the x-ray, no infection or anything, and that it was perfectly normal for her cheek to get swollen 18 days after the surgery even though up until that day the swelling was basically all gone. We went home after that, even though we thought something was surely wrong for her to be this swollen so long after the surgery. On the next day, we decided to go to a different oral surgery clinic (Schaumburg Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) to get a second opinion. Everyone there was very accommodating and polite and as soon as we called to make an appointment and explained our situation they considered us as an emergency case and immediately made an appointment for as soon as possible on the same day. They discovered that my daughter had a very severe infection. They made an incision where the infection was and so much pus oozed out that the doctor told us if she had waited one more day to go to a clinic she would've ended up in the hospital. The doctor was astounded that another doctor could tell us this was part of the healing process. They immediately put her on antibiotics using an IV, so she could get relief as soon as possible. We went home with more information on how she was supposed to clean her incision and a bottle of antibiotics for the infection. I wouldn't recommend all family dental & braces in Elgin to anyone, because their incompetence and disinformation could've led to serious health issues for my daughter.

Went to go get braces they said come at 8am on a Saturday and don't be late been here for 30 minutes still no movement haven't unlocked doors mists likely will be going somewhere else to get braces

My daughter was supposed to get braces today. Her appointment was at 8 am. They never opened. We called several times with no answer. There was other patients waiting outside also. We waited until almost 10am and they never opened. Not a curtesy call to inform us that they will be closed, nothing.. even today at 7 am I got a text message confirming our appointment. I lost a day of work for nothing . Not coming back here. Will look for a new dentist.

Great experience visiting this location for the first time. We drove from an hour away and it was well worth it. I have never had a Hispanic doctor before which was so nice being able to talk to the Dr. in Spanish! My visit was short yet effective and I look forward to coming back.

This is the worst place allways messing up the appointments and doctors says different things every time and it's been over a couple of years even they say they change management call centers I'm taking my 4 kids to another place

I don't normally write reviews but today I will for I'm fuming. Been coming here for years got my daughter braces which I had issues with their accounting or billing dept at Larkin putting in a wrong code to my insurance that caused delays and issues. In May of this yr I went for a cleaning meet with a new dentist that was really good with me and she referred me to a surgeon. Since may I had 2 cancelled appts today was my surgery yesterday some called me to tell me they were canceling my appt I was livid I asked why and they said my insurance still hasn't approved claim I told them that didn't sound right for its close to 2 months. I called my insurance and they told me they mailed the approval to them on May 19th I got the amount being paid what my portion was and the approval number...really I'm the patient .. I called back spoke to someone in billing and I was so angry giving her the info she was really nice and she really calm me down. She said someone would call me back from the dept that handles all this no one called me. I walked in to my appt today to find out I had to pay my portion up front before service I loss it I told them no one ever told me any payment needed to paid... I was so angry I stormed out I can't believe how much this practice has gone down in customer service. The dentist, ortho and surgeon are great people. But now I see why their office staff has such a revolving door. So now I'm going to see Aspen dental and pray thst they great reviews are accurate. So sad because I really did like my dentist and ortho doctors...

I rarely write reviews and I have been patient for years however I feel the need to speak up after the latest cancellation. Scheduling is nearly impossible! They cancel at the last minute and then the next appointment isn't available until months later. They don't have the staff to service who they've taken money from. Heaven forbid if you have a full time job, a child in school or more than one child going there, because their flexibility in scheduling is awful! Literally, received an appointment confirmation email and text 20 minutes before the appointment and upon arrival in the office found out they canceled all appointments. They rescheduled for the next day and they called in the morning to cancel that too! They have zero regard for people's work schedules and school schedules. There are plenty of other dentists/orthodontists out there that actually care about their customers.

They are UNORGANIZED. I've been there twice and told that my appointment was changed. WHEN IT WASN'T. I was supposed to have oral surgery and they never even put in the request to my insurance for my sedation. I Amy beyond angry and upset. I will NOT be going back ever again.

If you have state insurance this is probably one of the only places you'll find in the Elgin area that even accepts you, so it's not like you have much choice. Having said that, they seem to rush you in and out so fast it feels like factory line care. No personal attention or care for the patient, just get you done and get you out, cause that's all the insurance will pay for. If you have work provided insurance and can choose your own dentist, I definately would look elsewhere.
