Despite being uncomfortable, dry mouth alone is not a severe issue as long as it is not persistent. If it is, it can lead to various long-term health issues, ranging from irritating to dangerous. Someone who suffers from chronic dry mouth will likely experience mouth sores, splits at the corners of the mouth, cracked lips, increased plaque buildup & a greater risk of tooth decay & gum disease. You might even start to have nutrition issues, because the lack of saliva makes it more difficult to break down food when you eat.

Even if your dry mouth does not seem to be persistent, it is important to stay on top of treating it. The good news is that treatment is simple for most cases of dry mouth. First, make sure you stay hydrated by sipping on water throughout the day. For your dental & overall health, you should drink lots of water anyway! Dehydration, which dry mouth can be a sign of, is a serious health risk.

Other simple things you can do to treat dry mouth include chewing sugarless gum & limiting the salt, sugar & caffeinated drinks in your diet. Some people might recommend sucking on an ice cube or sugarless hard candy, but this can actually damage your teeth, so dont do it! You can also purchase nonprescription saliva substitutes over the counter to reduce your current issues.

If you use tobacco or drink alcohol, cut back on those or find a way to quit. Even if you dont think smoking or drinking is the root cause, those activities can irritate a dry mouth, so you should limit or stop them entirely. Plus, theyre just bad for you!

The best treatment for dry mouth always depends on the specific cause, so if home remedies or over-the-counter solutions dont prevent your dry mouth, it can indicate a more serious underlying health issue. In serious cases it is best to visit a physician or dentist who can work with you to figure out the root cause of your dry mouth & help you treat it.

We pride ourselves on taking the time to listen & get to know each patient as an individual. The entire team at All Around Dental Care looks forward to seeing you soon & developing a relationship with you to build the bridge toward long-term trust & successful dental care. Going here was one of the worst decisions I've made. I went here maybe 5 years ago and I'm still having problems from the experience. When I went to all around dental I had to have a root canal done and after I was still having alot of pain so they decided the infection must have spread to the tooth next to it so they would need to do a root canal on that one as well. After a week or two I was still having pain so they had to refer me out to a specialist. When I saw the specialist he explained to me that I was still in pain because when they did my root canal on the first tooth they actually drilled too far and broke threw the end of the root of my tooth and into my sinus cavity. The way to fix this was to have the specialist drill a hole through the side of my gums above my roots so they could put a filling on the end of my root. So basically I didn't need the second root canal and it cost me a oral surgery to fix their mistake also, everytime I get sick my teeth they "fixed" ache because he drilled past the root into my sinus cavity.

If I could give negative stars I would. I I have a terrible fear of dentists, and the dentist working with me made fun of me. I got my wisdom teeth removed and they refused to put my under even though I insisted because of my fears and low pain tolerance. They just numbed the area and pulled them out, I could hear and feel everything. It was a horrible, traumatic experience. DONT GO!!

If I could give zero stars I would. Appointments mean nothing here you'll still be waiting an hour plus to see the dentist. I literally sat for more than an hour without seeing the dentist. DO NOT COME HERE

I left a review and I'm pretty sure they flagged it for it be taken down...cuz it won't show anywhere. Flagging should only be if it's against Google policies or inappropriate. I only spoke the truth of what happened here and nothing vulgar or out of line. So messed up! Dishonest and unreliable practice. Long story short dentist didn't complete my root canal and told me to come in again and did 2 weeks later but then he wanted to refer me out, when I could have just gotten it done sooner if I had known. Turned out he broke a couple files and didn't bother to tell me. They charged insurance wrong, showed up for an appointment and they didn't have me in.

Horrible!!! I scheduled with my daughter to tend for my granddaughter 2 times so she could go here for an appointment.BOTH TIMES she got there and they DIDN'T HAVE HER SCHEDULED! This is with her standing in the office making an appointment at the desk! My father was a dentist, the communication and professionalism here is the WORST! Plus they totally messed up a root canal on her that was way over the Dr head and didn't let her know for 2 weeks what they had done!!!

I am the biggest wuss when it comes to going to the dentist. All Around Dental Care is the best place for a person like me. It starts with great service from the front desk ladies, then to back room ladies and doctor-- you will get nothing but their best. Thank you so much for being the best dental office around!!

I couldn't be more grateful for this dental office! Dr. Erekson was incredibly thorough and patient. The dental hygienists were so friendly and encouraging and I even had an awesome encounter with the front office staff. Holly in particular was wonderful and I appreciate everything she did for me, from scheduling me in as quick as possible and keeping me informed, ETC. Thank you all so much!!!!

If like the place in Provo/Orem area, go for teeth that are going pull rather than any root canal/or other "work/repair" needs I've had experience in 3 each the extraction was painful but cheapest n least return visited since no errors can occur really during extraction- except more than 10 years later, and have floating tooth bits that still reside, shift, n grow out of gums presently, can't do anything bout that as customer/individual they say it happens, so past annoyance the cheapest less painful still.
