Dr. Wietholder received his bachelors degree from Quincy University, then enlisted in the U.S. Army. While serving in the Army, Dr. Wietholder obtained his masters degree. Shortly thereafter, he attended dental school at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, graduating Cum Laude in 2011. Dr. Wietholder then completed a one-year residency in general dentistry with the Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan and completed his active duty service recently after 10 years. He continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.
His son, Lucas, enjoys hunting and playing sports, especially baseball. Ellie, his daughter, likes art and horse riding. When Dr. Wietholder is not busy with his childrens activities, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

The cleaning was fine. The dentist inspection was perfunctory. (Might have been nice to actually say something to the patient.) The background music was something I wished I could have turned off.

The dentist does his job well. May 2020-Bone graft was done and there were no complications. Completely satisfied. Aug- Jennifer did a great job of gently cleaning my teeth. 2021 April/May- Filling, crown prep and crown replacement done expertly. .Sep 9 Ty Jennifer for cleaning my teeth! April 2022 my teeth feel great after getting them cleaned October 2022 love the feeling of clean teeth Ty!

Chose to stay here after my former dentist (Dr Michael Ogden, DDS) joined the Group, then retired a short time later. It has turned out to be 1 of my better health decisions since moving to Columbia several years ago. With every visit I've experienced top-notch care. Everyone I've encountered here is/are dedicated, knowledgeable, professional and they treat their clients with care, empathy, dignity, respect. I feel like I'm with a wonderful family while there undergoing agreed upon treatments . Price? While I wish the services were free AAD will work with you if cost for services proposed, rendered seem unattainable to your pocketbook or weeping wallet. I highly recommend looking into, joining, taking advantage of their Patriot Plan. This year alone membership in it has more than paid for itself saving me several hundred dollars through care cost discounts versus paying 100% full-fare had I chosen to remain separate from their Plan. Dr J Wietholder is my current dentist in this Group and as long as I'm residing in Boone Co, MO I hope to retain his services for a long time going forward. He's a darn fine individual who loves his profession and his clientele. Pssst, please don't retire anytime soon, Dr J, OK??. Great talent is easy to appreciate but hard to find.

The office has a fresh open airy high tech feel. The people were very friendly and welcoming, while exhibiting the highest level of professionalism. As always Doctor Ogden's repair work was pain free, quick and flawless. I highly recommend American Dental to anyone needing dental care. You won't regret it.
