Dr. Almeida earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Connecticut and earned her dental degree at the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine. She completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
Dr. Almeida holds memberships in the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association and the Greater Waterbury Dental Society. Dr. Almeida is committed to a lifetime of clinical learning and professional development. She is currently completing the core curriculum of the Dawson Academy. The Dawson Academy is a group of dentists committed to continued learning, professional growth, and providing the best care to their patients.
Joy has been with our practice for 25 years. She is a former dental assistant who transitioned into the role of Office Manager five years ago. Joy loves getting to know our patients and feels proud of the quality care that our team provides.
Originally from Watertown, Joy currently resides in Thomaston. Overall wellness is an important aspect of Joy's life. In her free time, Joy enjoys practicing alternative therapy. She is an avid learner, always searching to expand her knowledge. Joy enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes. You might catch her after hours working out at the gym!
Sylwia has been a dental hygienist since graduating from Fones School of Dental Hygiene in 2014 where she was a devoted member of the Honor Society. She has been a valued member of Dr. Almeida's team for nearly five years. Her favorite part of working as dental hygienist is taking care of her patients and making them feel comfortable!
Sylwia resides in Beacon Falls with her husband, Rob, and her precious cat, Roxy. In her free time, Sylwia enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, bicycling, and taking trips to a family home in Vermont. On the weekends you may see her out on the Farmington Canal Trail or at the nearby Larkin Bridle Trail!

She joins us after successful completion of her degree from Goodwin University, where she developed a passion for dentistry.
