For more than 100 years, Alice Hyde Medical Center has provided compassionate, community-focused health care for more than 55,000 residents in the North Country region of New York. Our mission is to always be here, not just as caregivers and staff, but as friends and neighbors, offering expertise and compassionate care in an environment that supports your health and healing.
Patients, families, and their spokesperson have the right to speak about concerns regarding the care and treatment received at Alice Hyde Medical Center. These concerns are referred to as complaints and are handled by the Patient & Family Experience Department. We hope the issue can be resolved before the patient leaves the Medical Center by speaking to the floor or unit staff. If this does not happen, a call can be placed to the Patient & Family Experience Department and a formal process will be undertaken. Our patient concerns are very serious to us; we will investigate, educate and follow up on the complaint. Our contact information is:
Fax: (630) 792-5636 To contact the Join Commission 's Office fo Quality Monitoring via email, please visit www.jointcommission.org and use the 'Report a Patient Safety Event' link in the Action Center' on the home page of the website.
Volunteers are an important part of the Alice Hyde team. In addition to the satisfaction of service to others, volunteers enjoy participating in the Medical Center's special events, seminars, luncheons, and friendships.
Active volunteers are eligible for courtesy discounts from our pharmacy after achieving and maintaining 100 hours of service per year. They are also eligible to receive a complimentary meal from our dining room after four hours of service on any given day and complimentary beverage after two hours. In addition, a volunteer luncheon is held each year to recognize our volunteers.

While they were able to get me in same day, the provider prescribed antibiotics I am allergic to and four days later I still do not have the correct antibiotics for an abscess. Not impressed at all! Don't they read the medical history patients complete? And failing that, don't they re-prescribe something the patient is not allergic to?

I've gone here for years. The wait-list is not usually very long. The staff are very friendly and the dentists are too. I'll be getting my dentures from this place in a few months. I have faith they will do well.
