Dr. Phylicia Combest is from a small town on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She graduated from Gautier High School with honors and was one of the top ten students in her class. Afterwards, she attended Mississippi State University where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology.
Dr. Combests initial career choice was in forensic science, however in her fourth year of college she decided to change to a healthcare profession and chose dentistry. This choice stemmed from her positive experiences at the dentist and orthodontist growing up. She went on to complete her dental school training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis,TN. She then furthered her education by completing a general practice residency at Saint Elizabeths Hospital (public psychiatric hospital) in Washington, DC. During her time there, she gained advance training in complex and comprehensive dental cases with individuals suffering from mental illness. Lastly, Dr. Combest went on to specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Howard University in Washington, DC.
Dr. Combest is a board certified pediatric dentist with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, College of Diplomates, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
In the past Dr. Combest has volunteered with Big Brother Big Sister, Special Olympics in Memphis, TN, and the youth ministry at her church. She enjoys working with children and youth, so she incorporated that into her career by focusing primarily on the oral health of the pediatric and teenage population
In her free time, you can find Dr. Combest spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys exercising, shopping, going to tennis matches, concerts, and traveling the world. Her favorite childhood movie is the Goonies.
Dr. Hardy is the outgoing middle daughter of her two loving parents, Drs. James and Felecia Hardy. She grew up in Raleigh, NC with her two sisters and grandmother, who played an integral role of shaping who she is today. Dr. Hardy began her higher education career at Hampton University in Hampton, VA where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Upon graduation she attended Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, TN. After dental school,
Dr. Hardy practiced in Charlotte, NC where she served children for 1 year. She discovered her love for treating children and was inspired to further her training in the specialty of pediatric dentistry. During her 2-year specialty training at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, Dr. Hardy was appointed Chief Resident by her attendings and received the award for Outstanding Leadership in Dental Outreach for her additional work in the Bronx, NY community. Dr. Hardy furthered her knowledge by completing her Board Certification to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Her passion to continue to serve children in under-served communities nationally is reflective in her mission trips to other countries such as Haiti and Guatemala where she treated children in rural areas that had limited access to oral health care.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Hardy’s personal mission is to care for each of her patient’s unique needs while inspiring them to have fun and enjoy their oral health care. Encouraging children and youth to not only value their oral health but fearlessly pursue their dreams is something Dr. Hardy hopes is the lasting impression she has on all her patients
During her free time, Dr. Hardy enjoys reading mysteries with her book club and watching suspenseful movies with her two sisters. She also enjoys exploring new parks in the city with her dog Fefe while listening to some of her favorite music or audio books. Volunteering and giving back to her community has always been a priority for her. She continues to volunteer with her churchs kids and youth ministry and has joined community organizations including the Houston Area Urban League of Young Professionals.

We understand some kids anxiety when visiting an orthodontic clinic, and we work hard to show them how stress-free their treatments may be.

They can be spotted holding a patient's hand when needed, using child-friendly language in a calming tone, and taking the time to explain what to expect prior to a surgery to set their minds at ease.

As a general dentist, I have referred several patients to Aliana Pediatric Dentistry. They have all given great feedback and have been extremely happy with their experiences with Drs. Hardy and Combest. It is great to know that I can send my younger patients somewhere and trust that they are going to be taken care of and have positive early dental experiences!!

It was the first time taking my son to #AlianaPediatricDentistry and I couldn't be any more pleased with the care provided by Dr. Hardy. She was very welcoming and patient. She noticed that I was speaking in Spanish to my son and asked which language he felt more comfortable with... and guess what? She spoke Spanish to him, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable to my little one. He was excited about getting his teeth checked out and was even more impressed about the toys in the waiting area. Definitely kid and mom approved

Aliana Pediatric Dentistry is just awesome. The staff is very welcoming and professional. My daughter, age 7, had her tooth extracted today by Dr. Hardy. Dr. Hardy explained the procedure to me very thoroughly and made the whole experience for my daughter less stressful. Everything from start to finish was just awesome. Thank you to Dr. Hardy and her staff.

Dr. Hardy is Awesome! The staff are so friendly. My son had a phobia of dentists and RIGHT after we left, he said Dr. Hardy is HIS dentist until he is 17!! My son and daughter had a wonderful experience at Aliana Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Hardy is so nice and she's great with kids. She answered all my questions and made it fun for the kiddos. The front desk staff is very friendly and efficient. My kids loved all the colorful decorations and the play area in the lobby.

We love this pediatric dentist! My daughter saw Dr. Hardy earlier this week, because she was having some tooth pain and was overdue for a check up. They were able to schedule us an appointment the very next day! After Dr. Hardy examined her we realized she was going to need some procedures to alleviate the pain and keep the integrity of her teeth. They talk you through everything and are so sweet! We came back a few days later and Dr. Combest (her associate) is who performed the procedures. My daughter practically napped through it all. Both Dentists are wonderful! My daughter loves coming here and asks to go back, EVERY DAY! We have had wonderful experiences with Aliana Pediatric Dentistry and look forward to coming back in 6 months for our next cleaning. Thank you to all the doctors and staff for making the dentist not a scary place!

My twins came in to see Dr. Combest. The whole process from booking the appointment to wait time was seamless. Dr. Combest was friendly and professional and took time to explain everything we needed to know. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend

So my daughter was a patient at Dr. Hardy at another practice however when we went back for her check up I was told that she was no longer there! Dr. Hardy is so awesome I searched the internet high and low just to find her and I finally did! My daughter loves going to her! I have also spoken to Dr. Combest over the phone regarding scheduling etc and I just love the atmosphere and the customer service I receive from this practice! We are truly happy here :)

Love, love, love this place. Rita the receptionist was very helpful when I was booking my son's 1st appointment. The office was very clean and had a calming atmosphere. Dr. Hardy was very patient and gentle with my son. I am glad to have found a pediatric dentist close to home to care for my son.

Took my 2.5 year old for his first dentist visit scared how will it go. As soon as we entered he got busy playing in their clean modern play area while I was asked if I'd like any water/coffee. No wait time! Doctor was very conscientious and friendly. All in all my child had a great first experience and looking forward for his next dentist appointment.

Looking for a patient pediatric dentist???? These two doctors are 2 of the most patient doctors I've seen in a while! My youngest (4) would experience what I would call "anxiety". Every time it was her turn, she had to use the r.r. (stomach ache). So I switched. Y'all, she went in and immediately started cooking, chopping veggies and washing veggies in the pretend kitchen area. When she was up next she walked in like a big girl and did her x-rays like a champ, then she went and got in the chair and started asking questions and touching equipment. The doctor said no worries and explained the equipment to her even let her feel that the instruments don't hurt. She didn't cry and once she was done she even followed the doctor into the closet to get her goodie bag. We've definitely found the perfect place!

Dr Hardy and Dr Combest are the best!!! I'm super picky about trusting anyone with my daughter and I literally could take a nap while they're treating her because I know she's in safe hands! If you're looking for a pediatric dentist that's knowledgeable, kind and great with kids this is the place.

I highly recommend Aliana Pediatric Dentist! Walking in we were greeted by Rita the receptionist who was very friendly and inviting. Dr. Combest was warm and friendly she made my son feel really comfortable during his visit. He had a bad experience in the past and she made him feel safe. Dr. Combest answered all our questions. We have found our Dentist!

Great service! Dr.Hardy was very knowledgeable and patience with my kids! Kids had lots of space to play before the doctor saw them. I'll recommend this place to any parents looking for a new dentist.
