Dr. Audrey Sim, DDS, loves going to work every day to create healthy and brilliant smiles. Since 1993, she has provided outstanding, gentle, state-of-the-art dental care to children, teens, men, and women in Algonquin, Illinois, and surrounding areas at her private practice, Algonquin Smiles. Dr. Audrey Sim received her Bachelor of Science in microbiology at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She earned her DDS at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Dr. Audrey Sim graduated from undergrad in 1989 and dental school in 1993. Shes a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Dental Association. Dr. Audrey Sim was named Top Dentist in 2012 and 2016. Dr. Audrey Sim is native of Algonquin, IL. Since graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 1993, she has been a general and cosmetic dentist in Algonquin bringing the most beautiful smiles to children, teens, and adult men and women.

Shes currently learning to play the piano and cook.

I originally went to Algonquin Smiles for a second opinion on extensive dental work. I did not feel comfortable with another local dental office I first went to. I felt like I was buying a used car and negotiating price. When I met with Dr. Audrey, I was pleasantly surprised. She laid out a new dental plan which included extensive dental work. She was willing to work with me with all the additional costs beyond dental insurance. As I've been seeing Dr. Audrey for over a year and a half now I am kind of a "frequent flyer" as far as office visits. I find Dr. Audrey and her staff to be very professional, yet friendly and courteous. I highly recommend Algonquin Smiles.

I was referred to Algonquin Smiles by a neighbor. My front tooth got a chip in it from a frisbee. I had been with my previous dentist for a long time but they couldn't get me in for 2 months. I was stunned. I needed this issue addressed so further damage wouldn't occur. My previous dental group didn't care about my need to be seen fairly quickly. My neighbor highly recommended Algonquin Smiles. What an amazing group of people. So professional and kind. My front tooth looks perfect!!! Now I'm happy I couldn't be seen by my previous dentist. Anybody looking for a new dentist should call this place and know your dental work will look amazing! I will be going here forever now!!

Carey was the best hygienist! My gums always hurt after a cleaning and she was so gentle. I would definitely recommend to anyone who has sensitivity like me.

I don't like giving bad reviews but this place really needs some lessons on dealing with patients. Came in for a consult appt to try to get information on getting teeth fixed. Told them my struggles and how I've put stuff off because I didn't have dental insurance for a long time and didn't have the money. Now that I do, I'm trying to get stuff fixed but it's going to be a long road. Here were my main issues. 1. This place rescheduled my appt 2 different times. Not a huge deal but kinda strange. 2. When I went there they made me wait past my appt time and the front desk people were looking at me strange like I was growing a second head. I just had come from work so...??? 3. When telling the dentist about my issues and how lack of $$ played a role, she said that many customers TAKE OUT A SECOND MORTGAGE - ...if that was an option do you think I would be in this situation?? Gimme a break. 4. Dentist referred me to places for procedures that are OUT OF MY NETWORK. One of which wanted 200$ just for me to walk in the door before they even knew what needed to be done. When I called SIM's office back, the lady flippantly told me that they don't pay attention to networks or what the dentists that they refer patients to charge...and advised me to go on Guardians website. Basically offered zero help. If this place is gonna be that hands-off then maybe they could tell patients that UP-FRONT. In the end, I'll never go back to this place. Nor will I recommend to anyone. I'm going to have to go to ANOTHER dentist and research the oral surgeons and Periodontal specialists all on my own because this place doesn't seem to care or understand the struggle of people with poor dental health. The mental and physical anguish...then to have a trained dentist be flippant about the whole thing certainly doesn't help matters any. Not to mention I'm going to have to pay MORE MONEY to go to ANOTHER place to hopefully get some answers and get the ball rolling on this long road. Im sure if you're rich, have great insurance and only need a cleaning or a quick filling this place is fine, but for anything else, STEER CLEAR.

My dentist is Dr. Audrey. Since going to her, I have never felt more comfortable, confident and relaxed. She is an amazing person, warm, friendly and very professional. The entire staff is like a family welcoming me into their midst. I have never, in 74 years, found a dental practice this wonderful. I have nothing but high praise for this practice!

It was an unexpected visit but very pleasant.Everyone was in the office was friendly and very helpful. The procedure was quick and painless which I appreciated.The Dr was very informative and was able to take care of everything quickly. I've been to many dentist who were non caring and did a poor job but the Dr explained everything and what to expect. Very pleased with the results ,the office staff and especially the Dr.

I am not satisfied with their pricing and they try to grab maximum money from you. I went to my dental checkup few months ago and i was told deep cleaning and fillings on both side are needed(explanation was good). They completed my deep cleaning on two separate appointments which is good. They scheduled my two fillings and on my last filling they did half and they told me my cavity is big, now i need a crown...my question is- as a experienced medical professional, don't you know that you should have start my filling on big cavity instead of small cavity or suggest me to book appointments back to back to avoid crown ? I could have avoided expensive crown treatment if you either started my big cavity filling first or you could have just book my appointments back to back....i should have went to different facility and get all treatments back to back. Like i said, i have no issues with my treatment, my issue is with pricing....for one visit, initially i charged with full price, then i had to ask how much my insurance covers, then they said sorry these rates are not updated blah blah and gave me less bill...so all i could say is, there is no transparent pricing

Love Dr. Audrey Sims she is so kind! Also love her dental assistant Paula, she is the best. The hygienist in the office is so funny. I somehow actually enjoy my check up every 6 months because this group of ladies is so lovely.

I was in severe pain and Audrey would not perform the extraction...she told me I'd have to wait until the next day when I would see an oral surgeon...she WOULD NOT prescribe any medication to ease the pain...and if that's not enough to not schedule an appointment with her...the appliance that she made for me did not fit properly...I couldn't swallow...though she attempted to file it down I continued to feel like I was choking...she would not entertain replacing it...needless to say I did not go back and am currently under treatment with a different dentist...BEWARE! In her response she states that in order to prescribe pain medication she wound need to be aware of ALL the medications I was taking...she was in possession of my current medication list...SO WHY NOT GIVE ME SOMETHING TO HELP WITH MY PAIN UNTIL THE FOLLOWING MORNING?...I guess she didn't want to!

Staff is always friendly and helpful if I have questions regarding anything. Always get in on time and rooms are clean. Dr Audrey and her staff are super friendly. Would definitely recommend going to see them if you're in need of a dentist.
