Dr. Jackie is a Board Certified pediatric dentist in Reno, which means that she has received additional training and education in areas including growth and development, advanced behavior management, and care for patients with special health care needs. Shes also a mom, so she understands that it isnt always easy to convince children to come to the dentist! Thats why she has made our office as exciting and enticing as possible. Here, your child can pick out a fun movie to watch while they get their teeth cleaned, choose a cool prize from our prize wall after their checkup, and even play old-school Nintendo games in our waiting room!
As a Board Certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Jackie certainly knows a thing or two about helping children smile brighter. She loves being able to help children feel comfortable, build confidence, and avoid that all too common fear of the dentists office. As a mother of three, she also understands how much a little extra time, attention, and care can mean to an impressionable child. Building relationships with each family who comes to the office and being able to see her patients grow up over time means the world to her. Once they reach adulthood, they can make the easy transition to begin seeing Dr. Jason Alford in the same office!
Dr. Jackie knew for a long time that she wanted to someday work in the medical field in some way, shape, or form, and she has also always loved working with children. She loves that pediatric dentistry has provided the opportunity to combine her passions for science, working with her hands, and providing care for children. All of those components cemented her ultimate goal to specialize in pediatric dentistry and the rest is history!
After attending Stanford University for her undergraduate degree, Dr. Jackie pursued her dental doctorate at the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. She then completed her pediatric dental specialty at the Childrens Hospital Colorado. Today, she is a Board Certified pediatric dentist, which means she has completed advanced training and rigorous examinations to prove her commitment to this type of important specialty care.
Dr. Jackie feels so lucky to work with her amazing husband, Jason, each day. They have a smart, goofy son named Cooper, a sweet, super funny son named Casey, and a baby daughter named Kenzie who loves to smile! When she isnt busy caring for teeth, you can typically find her reading and watching movies with the kids. The boys particularly like board/card games, and they stay active by chasing Kenzie around everywhere. Going for walks and taking trips up to Tahoe for the day is also always a fun activity.
Heres an interesting fact about Dr. Jackie: she was a three-sport athlete in high school and played softball in college! Shes been inducted into the Reno High Athletic Hall of Fame, won the silver medal with Team USA at the Junior Olympics in Nanjing, China, and also won a gold medal at the World University Games in Taiwan.
When it comes to dentistry, Dr. Jason is fascinated at the crossover between the art and science of his field. More importantly, he finds deep joy in long-term relationships with his patients! He works hard to help them achieve excellent oral health while also maintaining it for years to come. I have always had a passion for people and leadership. My dad was a fighter pilot in the Air Force growing up so I was obsessed with jets when I was young but as I grew up I became fascinated with what it takes to be a great leader. This led me to studying Psychology as an undergrad. I knew I didnt want to work in academia and that I wanted to do something with my hands but for a few years I really didnt know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Just after college I started to have some pain in my wisdom teeth and I was referred to go see a wonderful Dentist who really helped me change the course of my life. I walked into his office a little nervous but quickly became absolutely fascinated with everything around me. It was like a lightbulb went off and everything became so clear.
A Dentist gets to be a leader within his or her practice and community, they get to help and interact with all kinds of people everyday, and they get to work with their hands and create beautiful things. I feel so fortunate to be a member of my profession. I truly love what I do.
Dr. Jason has been married to his gorgeous wife and business partner, Dr. Jackie, since 2013. They have three wonderful children Cooper, the social butterfly, Casey, a sweetheart with a great sense of humor, and Kenzie, who loves babbling, smiling, and climbing on everything. When he isnt working, you can almost always find him spending quality time with his loved ones. He also loves to read (especially science fiction), binge watch shows like LetterKenny, and go to the movies.
Heres an interesting fact about Dr. Jason: he actually served in the Army for six years! He comes from a family who highly values military service and leadership development. His grandfather served in the Army too, and his father was a part of the Air Force for 34 years. Today, he has multiple cousins who are in the Navy and Marine Corps.

I'm so glad we got recommended to this dental office, my daughter is afraid to needles so imagen going to the dentist for a cavity... from the minute we walked in the office, the staff was amazing and kind! Beautiful place and so kids oriented, We met with Dr. Jackie and I loved the way she explained everything to my daughter and gave her confidence to not be afraid and made her feel so comfortable. She loves the TVs to make the kids relax. We had an amazing experience and I brought my son as well. Thank you so much for being so professional and friendly, make us feel so welcomed.

Dr. Jackie was awesome! My kids 2 and 5 loved going there. Her staff was delightful and so great with the littles. I'll probably have myself and my hubby go to her hubby for general dentistry. Office is gorgeous and set up perfectly for kids. As a specialist in pediatric dentistry she had some very helpful insight on several topics to keep my girls' teeth healthy as they develop which also effects their overall health which I really appreciated. It is nice they are locals and aren't a corporate chain. Reno is so lucky to have the Alfords! 5 stars!

It's been 4 years since I was able to get into a dentist .. my regular dentist was always so backed up if I canceled an appointment it was months to get a new one. Then covid hit ... I gave up on my dentist and searched through my insurance for a new one. I expected a long wait. I never had such a great experience booking - getting in - getting my insurance taken and they did all the work of verifying my coverages and showing my cost. I was in the office a week after my first call and my appointments for what I need to do are all scheduled.. so that I'll be finished in 3 sessions. Everyone was so professional.. I'm really happy to recommend this practice

Dr Jacqueline and Dr Jason Alford are the best! I trust Dr. Jacqueline to answer any dental question I have for my 2 year old, including tips on how to make brushing little teeth easier. She is so friendly and welcoming my toddler had a great first dental experience. Both myself and my husband see Dr. Jason and couldn't be happier. He is honest and clear about any dental issue. The staff is friendly and the office itself is immaculet! Anyone who visits this dental office will be pleased with their experience.

I had visited Alford Pediatric & General Dentistry multiple times as of today and every time they make me feel very welcome. The staff really care about you, they are extremely genuine, polite, funny and always showing off their gorgeous smiles !! Scheduling is easy and conformation is done by text - super comfortable. As for Doctor Jason Alford, he is great! He will make you feel at ease about your procedure, and ensure that the experience is completely pain free. He is very knowledgeable and always takes his time to answer my questions and explain the procedure process. In all, great staff and great dentist!! I will definitely come back!

We love going to the dentist! Dr. Alford has been my wife and I's dentist for a year now and I can't think of anyone who has provided more attentive, personable, and honest medical care in my lifetime. His office is extremely efficient, makes scheduling & reminders too easy, and provides detailed & transparent treatment plans.
