Dr. Lopez is a fun and compassionate pediatric dentist in Alexandria, Virginia. He is proud to provide families in his community with a dental experience that's fun, friendly, and educational for children and parents alike.
Dr. Lopez completed both his dental degree and his intensive pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Lopez is also a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and he provides safe and effective laser therapy as an alternative for more invasive restorative options. He loves being a pediatric dentist because every day brings a new opportunity to make a difference in a child's well-being and to shape his or her attitude toward oral health for life. That's a big responsibility, but Dr. Lopez has the patience and positivity to make it happen!

Dr Lopez and his staff are great. My two children been going here for years. Love how after every visit the Dr comes out to speak to me and gives updates on their oral hygiene. Keep up the great work everyone there.

Most importantly, the staff were the absolute worst I've ever encountered in any medical setting in my life -- just overtly rude from the very first word. They would treat a dog better than patients. The dentist also spent < 2 minutes with my child, and he never even sat down. The total time in chair for cleaning and exam was < 10 minutes. Do not waste your time with this practice; scroll to the next option. Any other option would be better.

My son had a toothache. When I called the next morning to make an appt I was able to be seen that very morning. X-rays were taken and my son's teeth examined. Dr.Lopez was thorough to rule out an infection and was very good at explaining the situation. We left very happy.

Best dentist office. Friendly family staff Mrs at the front. Wonderful top notch dentist Dr Lopez! that specializes in your child's individual dental health. Very child friendly with toys to play with and movies for them to watch.cool prize after they have finished. They love what they do and it shows. I always feel at home there and I'm not the patient and that speaks volumes. My children have been coming here for a while and the mood never changes. They love there dentist office and I love them to. they are always on point and put the best out. This is a recommend perfect dentist office to bring all children to.

By far one of the best pediatric dentist ever, my kids love going to the dentist. Doctor Lopez is very kind, patient, explains things thoroughly to the kids to make them feel comfortable. All of the staff there is awesome!

For one the office staff is extremely rude and unprofessional! Secondly Dr.Lopez left a cavity in my sons mouth untreated for what the new dentist said was at least two years old! My son had to go on antibiotics because their was an infection. Luckily the cavity did not reach his adult tooth. So I do NOT recommend going here for your child's dental needs!

Excellent service from the staff and Dr. Lopez as usual. Have been going here since my son was about 3 and and he's now 7. No complaints and all the safety measures in place for COVID accordingly. He's a gem with my son and would highly recommend a visit with Dr. Lopez!

We had a few great experiences with the dentist and the practice overall. Then suddenly, I started getting text spam about insurance they sell in case we didn't already have any. Fair enough. Then some months into the pandemic i tried to schedule an appointment by calling and I got their voicemail. I didn't get a call back. So I sent an email through their site portal. I didn't get a call or an email back. Then I called again (maybe they missed the first message?) and left another message, a more detailed message. No call back. None. I tried texting back at the number where I was getting the spam. Nothing. So I passed by to to see if they were open (maybe they closed due to the pandemic?). Doors were locked, sign on the door said to call if you had an appointment so they could let you in. Lights were on, I could see a monitor was on and could see the windows wallpaper on it. So I knocked, no response. I called the number on the sign on the door, no one picked up. This was on a weekday around 11am. I found another dentist for my son. They picked up the phone! I can't even get this place to send the records to the new place. What a waste of my time. If you can get in to see the dentist, good for you! But lower your expectations for a call back as they either can't work their voicemail, can't work their email, but they certainly can spam you to sell their insurance!!

I'm going to say this to begin. The dentist is NOT the reason for the review. Mr. Lopez is frankly one of the best in the area, hands down very thorough, patient, and explains in detail expectations along with great advice. With that being said, your team is a reflection of your leadership. Your front office employees who handle customer concerns, conflicts, questions are the WORST. I wasn't aware that only one parent could stay during the visit so I walk in and immediately had the office manager stare me up and down and give me a look like I don't belong. They asked who was staying and I left, and didn't make much at the time about the uncomfortable feeling of being judged either due to what I was wearing or my ethnicity or whatever was bothering the office manager about me when I walked in. When my family came back, I was advised that while trying to make a follow up appointment, there was options provided that did not work for us due to our work schedules. The receptionist after being explained this replied "Well I don't know what to tell you." This is just a small sample of the rude and unprofessional manner that clients are attended to in this office and for whatever reason, it remains unaddressed. I went back in and out of character for myself, I went off on the staff. I asked to speak to the dentist over and over and was denied by the office manager, who says she's been there for 9 years. Please Mr. Lopez, if you're reading this, it seems unfortunate to have this problem in your office when you are such a great dentist for almost a whole decade. I see others have been having the same issue and have felt compelled to post and the underlying issue seems to be exactly the same.
