Dr. Lopez is a native of Northern Virginia. She graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelors in Biology and pursued her dental career at Howard University College of Dentistry where she was top ten in her class. Dr. Lopez knew from an early age that she wanted to be a Dentist, seeing the profession of Dentistry as the perfect blend of Medicine, Art, and Personal relationship. Dr. Lopez has a true passion for dentistry and enjoys learning all aspects of her profession every chance she gets. She maintains the highest levels of accreditation and pursues ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in dentistry. Being a conscientious practitioner, she is committed to excellence and will apply her expertise to your dental needs. Dr. Lopez is fluent in English and in Spanish.
Dr. Melody Butler was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. She lived with her family in the Raleigh area through high school. Dr. Butler then attended Meredith College where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in Health Science. For her studies in Dentistry, Dr. Butler moved to Columbus, Ohio to attend The Ohio State University. At Ohio State she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Post-graduation, Dr. Butler moved to the Northern Virginia area where she first started practicing in Leesburg and Lorton. She is excited to be a part of the Alexandria Dental Smiles family.
Dr. Butler takes multiple continuing education courses to keep up with all the advances in dentistry. She is experienced in performing comprehensive dentistry including invisalign. She is a member of the American Dental Association.
After graduating from the University of Central Florida where he received his Bachelors in Molecular and Microbiology, Dr. Burkes went straight into Dental School. He graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery. Following his graduation he enrolled and finished a General Practice Residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda. To increase his knowledge and level of care, Dr. Burkes continued his education by attending Medical School at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center - School of Medicine where he received his Medical Degree. He then continued on to Texas A & M University Baylor College of Dentistry where he received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Degree.
Irishasso much positive energy and a love of dentistry which reflects inthe office every day via her patient interaction. She will make you feellike part of our dental family when you are here ! She will greet you with a huge smile on her face. She truly enjoys the dental field and loves treating our patients especially the children. Her goal is toensure that you and your family have the best dental experience in a friendly environment. Iris is bilingual (English and Spanish)

Very clean, people at the front desk are super nice and attentive, they also speak both English and Spanish. Dr. Lopez is very professional and she explained all the steps and procedures she were doing.

Alexandria smiles dentistry has a wonderful customer service and the best behavior with all the customers. I had a very bad pain for 3 months and i was suffering from this pain, then I come to this office and meet Dr Andean and he help me a lot with the best dental service and now my pain is gone and I'm really happy I really appreciate and highly recommend this office

Thank you Dr. Sharmin Rahman for taking excellent, compassionate, gentle and loving care of my little boy today. My boy was anxious and scared, yet her gentle hands and mannerisms, comfort my son and ease mama's nerves too. Very professional and highly recommend her and this dental office. Dr. Lopez and the team are always nice, friendly , and cheery! Dr. Lopez always takes the time to explain when I have questions. There have been several times over the years that she has fixed a tooth when there have been emergencies. And I so appreciate that. I always tell people that I love my dentist and that is the absolute truth!!

My Eight year old and I love Dr. Lopez. She's an outstanding dentist and her dental office staff are extremely professional. I recommend Dr. Lopez to all my friends, family, coworkers and anyone looking for excellent dental care. I had a dental emergency in the past, my wisdom teeth where infected and I could've died from this infection but thankfully, Dr. Lopez and her staff booked me an emergency appointment and I was back to work the next day. My four year old has been a patient of her since he was nine months old and he loves Dr. Lopez. Call and make an appointment today!

Dr Lopez and her whole staff are amazing. They do amazing work, I had my wisdom teeth extracted, teeth whitened and get regular cleanings and I leave feeling good everytime! I highly recommend this dental practice for any adults or kids
