As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We strive to provide dental health care vs. disease care. Thats why we focus on thorough exams checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, and taking digital radiographs when necessary. A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.
Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination procedures using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). All instruments used are sterilized and sealed until required for each patient. All non reuseable items are new for each patient visit and after care are properly disposed of under NJ DEP code. Dental and medical sharps are separated from use and transported by a NJ state approved medical waste carrier for proper disposal and tracking.

I got a root canal from Dr. Kim, which had to be done in two parts because of how extensive the damage was (unexpected for me and for him). He explained the procedure and options in depth and reviewed my X ray images with me. He calmed my nerves, as this was my first dental procedure with a specialist. He talked through the procedure and made sure I was comfortable (injected more local anesthesia when I was not and made sure I was ok before continuing). Afterwards, he recapped the procedure and answered my questions to my satisfaction. He was very pleasant, calm and professional. His staff is also very professional and accommodating. Highly recommend! Compelled to give my first review ever lol.

He is honest, personable, knowledgeable, skilled, just amazing!!! His staff is a reflection of his leadership. He performed two root canals for me on two large cavities. I am so glad I chose his practice for my dental needs!

Entire staff was amazing, from the girl who answered the phone to the staff/doctor who saw me. Their first priority was getting me out of pain and providing relief when no one else could, and they squeezed me into their busy schedule when they didn't have to. I cannot thank them enough, they were awesome.

I came to Dr. Kim after I had some extreme sensitivity in my tooth and I convinced myself I needed a root canal. Dr. Kim and his staff paid close attention to my symptoms and actually suggested AGAINST a root canal. They referred me to a new dentist and after a follow up visit with Dr. Kim it turns out I didn't need one. Dr. Kim and his staff did not make me go through an unnecessary procedure and an easy pay day, talk about integrity. I am so grateful that professionals like Dr. Kim are out there. Thank you!

I experienced what appears to be extensive nerve damage associated with the a procedure by Dr. Kim to repair a cracked tooth. Just shy of six months later both my sense of taste and the feeling on one side of my tongue remain very much diminished. What feeling I do have is a perpetual burning and/or pulling sensation. It just depends on the day. I was advised by another dentist that at this point the chances of full recovery begin to diminish. What is all the more frustrating is that there was no discussion prior to the procedure informing me that this was even remotely a possibility. Moreover, I also learned that there are options other than what was employed by Dr. Kim for anesthetizing the area associated with the risk of this side-effect---because of the risk of this side-effect! Dr. Kim never informed me. In fact, I was informed neither of the possibility of this happening, nor of the fact that there was any choice in approach to treatment. Had I been, I would have chosen differently since public speaking is the heart of my profession. And this reality has an impact on that. I'm in conversation with my primary dentist about a referral to seek help from specialists at UPenn. This experience is heart rending. I walked into this office with tooth pain. I walked out with another set of problems that may affect the quality of my life for the rest of my life. And I was never given a choice. I definitely do not recommend Dr. Kim.

Dr. Kim surgically healed an extensive root infection with gentle, caring, and very professional skill. I could have lost the tooth but now I will have it for many years to come. I would recommend him and his team to anyone experiencing the need for his services no matter how complicated, as mine was.

I went to see Dr. Kim, who works with Dr. Berkman, for a second opinion. This doctor had every opportunity to recommend a retreat for my root canal or even a possible Hemisection, but chose to tell the honest truth about that the tooth and that it should be extracted and replaced with an implant. This is not the kind or work that Dr. Kim's does in his office but willing to make recommendations of doctors who can. This is exactly what my family dentist had recommended. Dr. Kim could have tried a surgical procedure to financially reward himself, but knew that it would of been short term, as he explained, so caring for his patient came first. He was not having a short term solutions that would only bring me pain and suffering down the road. He took his time and slowly explained my dilemma by using simple to understand analogies. I respect Dr. Kim. I see him as a doctor who posses professionalism of the highest standard.
