Dr. Schrott graduated from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, School of Dental Medicine, Germany, in 2003, where he received his Doctorate title (Dr. med. dent.) withmagna cum laude. In 2007 he completed his certificate in Periodontology and obtained a Master of Medical Sciences (MMSc) at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. As a recipient of the ITI (International Team for Implantology) Scholarship in 2008, Dr. Schrott spent one year at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, where he exclusively focused on implant dentistry.
After continuing his focus on periodontics and dental implants for a few years in private practice in Germany, Dr. Schrott returned to Boston, where he completed the Advanced Standing Program for Dental Educators and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Schrott is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has been board-certified by both the American and the German Boards of Periodontology. He is also a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). Dr. Schrott was appointed Clinical Instructor in the periodontal program at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2012, after he had served there as a Visiting Lecturer since 2007.
He has given numerous presentations on dental implant therapy and cosmetic periodontal surgery throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Dr. Schrott has published several articles on implant-related topics in peer-reviewed scientific journals and was a reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology. His research on dental implants was awarded the Balint-Orban Memorial Price by the American Academy of Periodontology.
In addition to being a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, Dr. Schrott is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the German Academy of Periodontology and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Came here for a second opinion after a bad experience at the "Boston Dental" office downtown. I ended up needing multiple graft surgeries and Dr. Schrott could not have been more attentive, considerate, gentle, reassuring, professional, or good at what he does. His staff is also incredible and punctual. The office is very small but the whole experience was world-class. The post-op situation was way easier here than most online blogs predict, since Dr. Schrott gives you an insert to wear as a "bandage" (but it's not gauzy or gooey to deal with). It turns out he invented it!!! I'm so grateful to be able to eat an unrestricted diet now that my gums are back in shape. Can't say enough good things about this office!

I had an initial consultation Dr. Schrott which resulted in a detailed letter to my dentist outlining the treatment plan for treating gum recession. I waited a long time to see a periodontist but I am relieved and happy that I found Dr. Schrott. Update: I have been a patient for two years, my gum recession has been treated and my whole mouth feels like new again. Dr Schrott is amazing!

I only had a consult with Dr. Schrott. I will be back for my dental work at Dr. Schrott's office. Dr. Schrott is very nice, explains the diagnosis very clearly, thoroughly, and concisely. His entire office team is very pleasant, friendly, and professional! I enjoyed my first visit. I had my follow up procedure at Dr. Schrott's office. Dr. Schrott's work on my teeth was excellent. Dr. Schrott and Melanie, the assistant, worked in synchrony. The procedure was very smooth, efficient, painless, thorough, and pleasant overall! I highly recommend Dr. Schrott's office for periodontal work.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Schrott. I was referred to him by my dentist to have a frenectomy between my two front teeth. After a careful examination, he felt that it was not necessary. He was knowledgable, communicative and a complete pleasure to speak with. I will definitely refers others to this periodontist!

If I could give more than 5-stars I 1000% would. I first visited Dr. Schrott a year ago for gum recession surgery on both sides of my upper gums. Dr. Schrott took the time to explain the procedure to me and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way (i was definitely nervous at first but the team did all they could to make me feel confident about my results) from my initial visit, to day-of my procedures, clearly and concisely covered aftercare instructions and expectations, to all my follow-up appointments. My gums look and feel great. His team, including Mel and Judy who were incredible, made me feel extremely comfortable and they were super easy to work with. Their office is super clean and inviting as well. I would recommend them to anyone looking for periodontal work and plan to go back if I ever need anything in the future. I had an upper implant done with Dr. Schrott. I've always been an extremely nervous dental patient and Dr. Schrott was patient and kind throughout the entire process. Not to mention that I felt 0 pain with the extraction AND the implant placing process.
