I began my career in dentistry over 20 years ago while in high school and knew that my lifes work was going to be devoted to helping others. My educational journey began at Ohio State University, Rhodes Community College where I studied Applied Science. I also attended Northeastern Illinois University where I studied Human Resources and Adult Education. As Registered Dental Hygienists, the hygiene staff here at Colonial Dental Group is devoted to continuing education so that we are able to provide the best possible care for all of our patients. We care about the whole patient.
I graduated from Marquette University in 1997 with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene and a minor in Human Health Science. I was honored to join the team at Colonial Dental Group later that year. The warm and friendly staff as well as the commitment to continuing education and excellence in dentistry makes working in this practice a truly rewarding experience. Outside of the office, I love spending time with my husband, 2 daughters and 2 dogs. I also enjoy gardening, music and travel.
My father convinced the dentist that rented office space in a building he owned that his 16 year old daughter needed a job and would he be willing to help out after school and on Saturdays. I started out working the front desk and then on to assisting. The rest is history. I feel extremely fortunate to have joined the Colonial Dental Group team after working for a Periodontist who has recently retired. Since caring for many CDG patients while there, I had always admired the impeccable care that was given to their patients as well as the quality of the dentistry. I am also a part-time Dental Hygiene Clinical Instructor and Adjunct Faculty at the College of Lake County.
I have been interested in healthcare for quite some time and dental hygienehas allowed me to pursue my healthcare goals along with my interest inhelping others. I moved to Illinois from Park City, Utah where I have beenpracticing Dental Hygiene since 2015.
My husband and I live in the NorthShore area with our dogs and enjoy thebeautiful outdoor spaces and activities that the area provides. I enjoybeing a part of the team here at Colonial Dental and appreciate the valuethat they put on quality dentistry.
I have been in dentistry my entire adult life and have enjoyed every minute of it. I particularly enjoy Colonial Dental because the team is top-notch from front to back and the patients really value what we do here. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my children and enjoy being in the outdoors.
After graduating with a business degree from North Dakota State University where I played basketball, I found dentistry through a family member and have thoroughly enjoyed my 10 plus years at Colonial Dental Group.
Service has always been a part of my personal and professional life and Colonial Dental Group has allowed me to pursue that as an extension of my job. I have a degree in Business Communications from Loyola University and was a dental assistant as well.
I have always been passionate about wellness and have worked in service industries most of my life. I have attended Harper College and am excited to find my first position in the dental field. I am extremely happy to have found a home at such a well grounded practice with wonderful patients who value their health and appreciate the excellence that Dr. Quezada and Dr. Duarte provide.
After graduating from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1992, Dr. Quezada joined Colonial Dental Group in 1996. He has been trained as a cosmetic dentist from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and has used his artistic talents to master the CEREC crown system. The advantage of the CEREC system is that patients can schedule to receive a major restoration such as a crown in one visit! For patients who find themselves with time constraints, this has been tremendously popular. Along with the CEREC, Dr. Quezada has created many beautiful smiles with Invisalign which most people identify as clear braces.
Dr. Quezada and his wife Karen are raising their four children in Glenview and are very busy with all of their childrens activities as well as their own. Dr. Quezada is also a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts and just had the pleasure of watching his oldest son reach the rank of Eagle Scout.
Dr. Lewis graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1981 and then completed a one-year Dental General Practice Residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Upon completion of the General Practice Residency, Dr. Lewis spent time at University of Illinois College of Dentistry as a part-time clinical instructor from 1982 through 1988. In 1984 Dr. Lewis began dividing his time between Colonial Dental Group and Illinois Masonic and joined Colonial Dental full time in 1988. As an advocate of continuing education, Dr. Lewis has attended courses at the Pankey Institute and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and is a part of the Conley Study Club.
Dr. Lewis has valued his involvement with the Rotary Club of Glenview-Sunrise and enjoys their commitment to local and international service. He is a charter member and past-president of the club as well.
Danielle Duartecompleted her undergraduate training at the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Pre-Professional Studies and Spanish. After 4 years of dental school, Danielle earned her DDS degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI. Following dental school, Dr. Duarte then completed a one-year post-doctoral General Practice Residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she learned more advanced dental techniques, including implant dentistry, restoration, and esthetics, and upon graduation earned the distinction of being named top resident of her class. During residency, Dr. Duarte treated a variety of patients with complex medical conditions, including head and neck cancer, facial trauma and complicated oral surgery cases, and performed full dental rehabilitations in the operating room for special needs children as well as adults with extensive medical histories.
Volunteering has been an important part of Dr. Duartes personal life. While attending Notre Dame, she found great enjoyment in tutoring grade-school children and teaching English to Spanish-speaking adults. In the last several years, Dr. Duarte has volunteered with medical volunteer programs such as Give Kids A Smile, Mission of Mercy, Remote Area Medical, and Global Medical Brigades, all of which provide dental care in underserved areas both within the US and internationally. She plans to continue her dental volunteerism for years to come.
On a personal note, Dr. Duarte was raised in the western suburbs of Chicago and comes from a medical family.She is a newlywed who now lives in Chicago with her husband Ade, who is also a dentist. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, and exercise, including weight-training and boxing. She is also a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), and Chicago Dental Society (CDS).
I believe in treating my patients holistically, incorporating their dental history with all aspects of their medical history to develop a patient-focused comprehensive treatment plan for their dental and oral healthcare needs.
