Dr. Balian is a Virginia native having lived his entire life within the Commonwealth. He attended The College of William and Mary as well as Old Dominion University. There he received his B.S. in Physics. After working for the Department of Defense from 1980 to 1984, he returned to school and earned his DDS from Howard University in Washington DC. Dr. Balian has been practicing dentistry since 1988. His practice philosophy has been to provide the very best dental care for his patients in the most gentle way possible.
In his spare time, Dr. Balian can be found on a local baseball, softball or football field working with todays' youth in the role as a scholastic sports official. Dr. Balian also enjoys acting and performing. Dr. Balian has made Fredericksburg his home along with his wife Karen and their golden retriever, Halo.
Katrina is a native of Alabama and moved to Virginia in 2004. She is married, mother of 2 and Grandmother of 5. She went to college in Georgia and graduated in 1993.She and her husband moved to Spotsylvania in 2018 with their 4 dogs and 3 kitties.
Nilo is married and mother to 2 children. She has been residing in Fredericksburg since 2002. Nilo graduated from Germanna Community College in 2006 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been working for Dr. Balian since her graduation from college.
Beth was born and raised in the Fredericksburg area. She graduated from Chancellor High School and began working for Dr. Balian in 1999 after completing the dental assisting program at the Spotsylvania Career and Technical Center. Beth and her husband have 2 beautiful daughters.
Doreen graduated from NHTI, Concord NH in 1989. She has been assisting with Dr. Balian since 2000. Doreen has worked in General Dental Practice and Orthodontics. Doreen has been living in the Fredericksburg area since 1997. She is married with 2 beautiful children.

Dr. Balian is one of the best dentists I've been to. Everyone of the staff members are friendly and professional! Dr. Balian has jokes too! Lol!

This was my 1st time coming to this dentist, so I was a bit nervous. The staff was so friendly! They chatted with me as if I were and old friend. They made it so easy to relax. Nilo, the hygienist, was extra pleasant to talk with, and quite knowledgeable. I definitely will recommend this office to friends and family.

Highly recommend Dr. Balian! I haven't been to the dentist in years and Dr. Balian and his staff made me feel so welcome and comfortable. My teeth and gums felt 100x better after just 1 cleaning and the doctor explained everything along the way

This is our family dentist. The office is clean, the staff is wonderful, and Dr. Balian does exceptional work. He never pushes anything on you that you don't need. Furthermore, I have nerve issues and am a difficult patient to numb and work on. He takes my anxiety and worry away. Dr. Balian understands my issues and is caring and compassionate. He also tells great jokes :)

I recently transfer to Dr. Balian as my primary dentist, I previously had been under Dr. Hale care in the city of Orange. After having moved to our current location we asked around and got very favorable input from friends who were patients of Dr. Balian's. Additionally, his office is within walking distance from our new home. I was very satisfied with my first appointment and look forward to mutually beneficial relationship with both Dr. Balian and his staff.

I absolutely love Dr. Balian and the entire staff in the office. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. I have been going there for over 18 years and it's consistently the same great experience every time.

I started going back to see Dr Balian last year. I was diagnosed with oral cancer August 2015 (the dentist my insurance would pay) never said anything to me that I should have the spot on my tongue looked at and it could be cancer. Dr Balian saw me on short notice February 2016 because I needed to make sure my teeth were healthy enough for the radiation that I would be given for six weeks. I am so thankful I contacted Dr Balain last year and he is my dentist again.

There is a lack of communication here!! The office mgr Karen isn't helpful and somewhat rude. She told me they can't tell us what's covered and what's not by our insurance. This is a first for us. They charged us one amount, then told us more was due after the fact. We paid the original amount in full, but when additional money was due, they are not willing to work with us on payment plan. We will not be going back and I will not recommend this dentist. VERY poor customer service!!!!!!

Five stars for Dr. Balian and his staff! I have been a patient there for many years and am 100% pleased. Dr. Balian really cares about his patients and their comfort. He takes time to explain what he is doing and is always willing to answer questions. On top of that he has a great sense of humor. I always enjoy going there no matter what the reason!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Balian and his staff. First, I consider them friends and actually look forward to my visits. Some of the specific things I like: his prices are very reasonable, he doesn't do unnecessary work, he explains treatment options clearly, his staff is friendly and competent, he has a sense of humor and a very peasant personality, and last but least, he has never caused me any pain whatsoever. And, he has always been very accommodating when I've needed an emergency appointment. I could go on and on but suffice it to say that I'm very blessed to have found such a caring and competent group of professionals to take care of my teeth.

I have been with Dr. Balian and gang for many years now. When I retired we moved out to Madison, about an hour's drive to his office. I changed all my other doctors to be closer to our new home, but I still see Dr. B as my dentist, and plan to do so as long as I can drive. He is not only an excellent dentist (and I am no stranger to dentistry), but he is clear with his explanations of work to be done. He also has a great sense of humor. His staff is experienced and very friendly. The atmosphere is light, like a family that gets along. I don't know how he does it but it must be his personality, because everyone seems happy to be at their jobs. Thanks for taking care of my all these years guys!

Our family has been seeing Dr. Balian for over 10 years now. We love the clean office, friendly staff, and excellent service. Everyone in the office was great with our kids when they were young. They have guided us through first visits, comforted us through fillings when needed and seen two of our kids through their years in braces. My husband and I always feel good about Dr. Balian's advice & treatment. He is knowledgable and relatable. 5 stars for sure!

Dr. Balian and his entire staff are great. From the moment you walk into the door until you leave, you feel welcomed and comfortable. We have been using Dr. Bailian for over 10 years and it's the only dentist my daughter has known. Staff treats you like family and very flexible and accommodating when it's comes to scheduling and reminders.

Dr. B and his staff are absolutely the best. I would as likely find a new dentist as I would volunteer to go on a one way mission to Mars. He treats everyone like a family member. Nilo and Amy are the best techs his side of the Pacific Ocean. What more can I say except it has been about 20 years of exams, xrays, fillings, crowns and a root canal. All aces. No complaints.
