With cone beam imaging, we can capture clear, detailed images of your mouth that will help us diagnose your needs. We can also create surgical guides that will help us plan your care. Using a detailed surgical guide allows us to offer more precise treatment that takes less time and results in a shorter recovery period.

Dr. James Alexander grew up just a few miles from Saint Augustine. As a child, he enjoyed a range of activities, including soccer, baseball, football, tennis, BMX racing, and music. Although he graduated near the top of his class, he joined the United States Marine Corps at a time when most of his friends were making plans for college. The Marine Corps helped mold Dr. Alexander into the man he is today.

After serving, he attended Jacksonville University, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 and a bachelors degree in biology. Following that, he earned his DMD from the University of Florida College of Dentistry.

In the years since, he has continued to learn, amassing an amazing 343 hours of continuing education in his first year after dental school alone. He has trained in endodontics, attended the Nash Institute, and completed the prestigious Implant Maxicourse in New York City.

Today, Dr. Alexander lives in the community with his beautiful wife and three wonderful kids. In the time he has been in practice, he has developed a truly unique perspective on caring for patients. Everyone is treated equally, regardless of age, background, or particular insurance plan. He strives to provide old-fashioned customer service, with special attention provided to each patient. Dr. Alexander practices with a single motto in mind: Do what is right for the patient, and everything else will follow.

Dr. Derbaum is from Clearwater, FL, but she now resides right here in World Golf Village! She earned her Bachelors in Microbiology & Molecular Biology from UCF & then went on to receive her DMD from the UF College of Dentistry. After finishing school, she completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program & has since received advanced training in Esthetics & Invisalign treatment. Dr Derbaum says, Its obvious from the way our team interacts with one another & with patients that this is truly a practice where doing the right thing is prioritized. She goes on to say, Its great to have a state-of-the-art practice, with excellent materials & technology to allow me to do what I love most. Dr. Derbaum enjoys getting to know her patients & working with them to achieve healthy & beautiful smiles. When not at work, she loves being creative by crafting & baking. She stays active by kickboxing & hiking & taking day trips with her husband to visit friends & family.

Jessica is Dr. Alexander's wife and was born and raised in New York. She studied Musical Theatre at Jacksonville University and then worked in advertising for 5 years before joining her husband at his dental practice in February of 2013. As our Vice President, she handles many of the office's business operations: which include marketing, bookkeeping, productivity, ordering, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Jessica loves our team and our office and does all that she can to allow Dr. Alexander to spend his time doing what he loves: taking care of patients. When not at work, Jessica enjoys the outdoors, performing in local theatre, and spending time with her husband, three children, and puppy Zoey.

Kayla is Dr. Alexanders daughter & is so proud to be working for her familys business! She is one of the first smiling faces that you see when you enter our office, & her face just lights up the room. She started at our office in 2020, & Kayla says, One of my favorite things is making people smile. I am excited to provide a welcoming face to make our patients feel cared for & comfortable. Kayla loves the compassionate & understanding atmosphere of our office & its staff & how we work as a team to solve problems in the most efficient ways possible. When not at work, Kayla enjoys singing, adventuring in nature, & practicing her calligraphy.

Laurie loves working with patients of all kinds, and she maximizes her effectiveness by offering at-home hygiene tips and tricks for patients throughout their teeth cleanings. Brand new to our office in 2017, Laurie holds an associates degree in dental hygiene, and she has been practicing in the dental field for more than two decades! She brings those years of experience to our patients, and loves having the opportunity to work in partnership with the other team members to provide excellent dental care for every patient she sees. Outside the office, Laurie is happily married to Robert, and the couple has three daughters, Kristen, Jessica, and Kylie. She loves spending time with family and friends, riding her two horses, Watson and Lily, and planning for a building her familys dream farm.

Madison was born & raised right here in St Augustine, Florida. She graduated from Nease High School. Madisons job is to sterilize our practice & she takes cleanliness very seriously at work, as well as at her home. She loves cleaning & organizing so much that, for her, its not work, its fun! Madison says, I love this practice. I love that its like a family & we work together well. I always look forward to coming to work! In her spare time, Madison enjoys writing & spending time with her family.

Originally from Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Shaneille moved to Saint Augustine when she was just 10 years old. She attended St Augustine High School & then First Coast Technical College. Shaneille is very sociable & friendly. She enjoys meeting our diverse patients & works hard to help our hygienists & assistants. She is always willing to learn & available & willing to help wherever she is needed. Shaneille says, I love the positive energy that everyone gives out here. Our staff is amazing to work with. All of my co-workers work together to make sure we stay on time. I also love the high-tech equipment we use! When not at work, Shaneille spends her time dancing, watching movies, going on walks with her dog & taking trips with her family to Jamaica for the holidays.

Diana has always been a people person, and she enjoys working with our patients and putting them at ease using her sense of humor. She joined our practice in 2016 and brings over 18 years of experience to our team. As a hygienist, shes responsible for performing thorough dental cleanings, a variety of patient screenings, and taking diagnostic X-rays among many other duties. She truly believes in the benefits of good oral hygiene and strives to help patients understand the importance of routine dental care (both in the office and at home) so they can enjoy a lifetime of healthy smiles. At home, youll usually find Diana watching tennis, spending time with friends and family, and spoiling her beloved dog.

As our office manager, we rely on Kim to keep both our team and our patients organized every day, and she really does a great job! She has over 22 years of experience and is friendly, outgoing, hardworking, and dedicated to helping every patient maximize their insurance so they can achieve their dental health goals while staying on budget. A native of Livermore, CA, Kim says, I look forward to coming to work every day because our patients and staff are such great people. I love my work family! On most weekends, youll find her walking along the beach, hiking mountains, going fishing, or camping with her husband, daughters, and son.

Rosie is our extremely hard-working dental assistant, with 25+ years in the dental profession. Originally from Vietnam, Rosie has been living in the states for over 37 years now. She has been married for 22 years & has 2 children. Rosie says, Dentistry is a field that Im in love with, & its in my blood. The staff are so amazing & friendly. They make me feel like Im in such a comfortable environment. The patients are kind & sweet & make every day a new opportunity to explore getting better acquainted with them. Rosies interests include prayer & meditation. She likes to focus on doing charity work & good deeds & on being a hopeful & friendly person towards others.

Lisa joins our team with 30+ years in the dental field. Lisa is great at her job because she loves helping people & she says, I love the great care that we provide for our patients, as well as the family-oriented feeling we all have for each other. Lisa has been married to her high school sweetheart for 37 years. Together they have 2 children & 2 grandsons that they adore. Outside of work, Lisa loves quilting, spending time with her family, & everything Disney!

Marissa has been working in the dental field for well over two decades now, and she enjoys being able to care for patients alongside Dr. Alexander, Dr. Awad, and the rest of her talented coworkers here in St. Augustine. She has a genuine love for making people smile! Whenever shes not busy at the office, she spends her free time hanging out with her kids and baking.
