Dr. Alex Mercado is a Northern Californian by birth, growing up in Antioch, California. He is familiar with the latest techniques in dentistry and welcomes the challenge of keeping up-to-date for the benefits of his patients. He specializes in creating crowns and bridges for dental restorations, especially those involving the front teeth.
While these are complicated procedures, Dr. Mercado enjoys caring for his patients in a way that helps them stay calm and relatively comfortable throughout the procedure. He understands the desire for a good-looking smile! Dr. Mercado attended the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC and has done volunteer work helping underprivileged populations in the United States and Jamaica. Dr. Mercado enjoys bicycling in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. A former baseball and basketball player, he likes keeping active in his spare time.

SENSATIONAL DENTAL OFFICE! - The folks working here are absolutely first-rate. I hadn't been to the dentist in years, and they made me feel right at home, the second I walked in the door. I truly can't say enough good things about Dr. Mercado and his team. I had a tooth extracted and both Dr. Mercado and his assistant Lisa made the whole process effortless and enjoyable. Everyone here is incredibly personable, sincere and willing to help you with any and all concerns. Absolutely first-rate dental office! : ) : ) : )

I love, love, LOVE this office! If you hate (or are afraid of) going to the dentist, these folks will put you at ease. The vibe is great and the work Dr. Mercado and his team does is top notch. Honestly, I can't imagine going anywhere else. Shout out to Lisa, Courtney, Ashley, Elyssa, Yami, and the whole team. They know how to make a visit to the office into as fun an experience as possible. These folks know their teeth! Plus, you can't beat a pop music playlist. You just can't. Thanks, y'all!

Dr. Mercado's dental office is the best I've ever experienced. Everyone I've had interactions with in his office has been not only very friendly and welcoming but also very knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Mercado has created a very warm and engaging practice designed to make you feel very comfortable. He is also very much up to date with all the latest technology which actually makes the procedures less intrusive. Overall a great dental office. I highly recommend it!

The entire staff is wonderful. From the amazing dental assistants like Lisa and Ashley, to the hygienist Marcy and Annie, and guided by the best dentist in the Sacramento area, Dr. Mercado. Even the front staff does a great job. 10/10 would recommend to anybody.

Dr.Mercado and his staff are so kind and caring, and they all work together like a well-oiled machine. From teeth cleanings and filling replacements to wisdom teeth removal, I have always felt that I was in the best of hands. I even recommended them to a friend who was terrified of dentists and promised her that they would take care of her. She came back with smiles and thanked me for helping her find a kind-hearted dentist after she had bounced around to others in the area with disappointment. I highly recommend this office for your dental needs!!

Dr. Mercado and his team are absolutely wonderful. They are so easy to work with and even with my busy schedule they provide communication via text which is awesome being I can't answer calls in our dispatch center. I have never been a fan of the dentist but now I don't mind coming at all, I trust that they have my best interest in mind and they are super funny and friendly. I tell everyone I know about them, wish I can add more stars. You guys rock!!!

If it were possible to give 20 stars I would. Dr. Mercado and his ENTIRE staff are the absolute BEST! Over the 4th of July weekend, one of my back molars broke. I was terrified (I'd never broken a tooth before), and frantically called a couple of dentists that had been recommended to me. No one returned my call. When I called Dr. Mercado's office, not only was Jackie incredibly kind & sympathetic to my plight, she got me in right away so Dr. Mercado could evaluate me. Between Dr. Mercado and Lisa & Ashley, his kickass dental assistants, they were able to calm me down and come up with a plan for some crowns for both teeth (a second one had broken a day later). Now, here's where it gets even better: I was in the chair, getting my tooth drilled & prepped for my pretty new crown, and we felt some swaying. He though I was chair dancing to the music (oh yeah - another 5 stars for their music selection BTW), but it turned out we were actually in the middle of an earthquake! That man was legit drilling or filing or doing whatever dentist magic he does, and didn't even flinch - DURING AN EARTHQUAKE! DR. MERCADO HAS THE STEADIEST HANDS KNOWN TO HUMANKIND. My crowns are just beautiful, we made a long term plan for the other work I need after too many years of not being able to afford dental care, I got my teeth shiny & clean by Courtney, one of the amazing dental hygienists, while I was waiting on my 2nd crown, and my mouth has never been happier. After the last tooth he worked on in September, my bottom teeth are so beautiful I can't stop looking at them - it's so nice NOT to see those ancient silver fillings anymore! And the color of each crown is SO natural and matches my other teeth. I don't want to look like Ross in that one episode of Friends with glow-in-the-dark teeth, and I trust Dr. Mercado to never do that to me. Lastly, his front office team is just incredible. Jackie & Yami are so patient with my 5000 questions. They helped me with a payment plan (because it was a lot of work at once) and explained everything clearly, so I always know what to expect,. Their communication about any changes in scheduling or anything else is also fantastic. Long story longer - if you need a dentist, go see Dr. Mercado and his team. They make you feel like family, and Dr. Mercado is highly skilled, not just clinically, but artistically. Seriously, I can't WAIT til next year when I start getting my upper teeth worked on and they'll be as pretty as my lower ones. And who ever WANTS to go to the dentist, right?! Trust me, he'll make you want to go. :)

I haven't been to the dentist in 2+ years so I decided to look in the area for one. I read the reviews and decided to request an appointment. Response was with 24 hours. Yami and Jackie were super helpful when filling out required paperwork. When I came in for my appointment I quickly noticed that the office was super clean and had a pleasant ambiance. Staff was friendly and I never had to wait more than 5-8 minutes for my appointment to actually start. They do a great job of explaining what will occur during my appointment and making sure I know what my options are. Dr. Mercado has done my cavity filings and Marcy did my teeth cleaning. I would highly recommend them to anyone. 10/10!!!!

I've been patient of Dr. Lott (and staff) for years; Dr. Mercado (and staff) came in and I've received the same (if not more) wonderful and caring service, from the hygienists to Dr. Mercado himself (and Jackie, his go-to office mgr.) They have helped me through several troubling dental (and financial) issues, always willing to go the extra mile to help. They deserve (and have certainly earned their 5-Star rating. Example: I'm having two root canals at nearly the same time, but insurance requirements are complicated, so Jackie is working with me, with Dr. Mercado, and the root canal dentist to arrange everything so insurance is used primarily on both procedures. Bottom line: if you ask, you might be surprised at how well and how grateful they are to help you, with whatever issue you may have. I heartily recommend this office for all your dental needs. Jackie and staff are fantastic and I'm pleased to be their patient.

I just love Dr. Mercado and his whole staff (Ashley, Yami, Courtney, everyone!). They make me feel welcome and at ease every visit. Everyone seems like they genuinely enjoy being there. The only time I've ever laughed and had a good time while getting a filling.
