Dr. Alex Nguyen graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1993. Immediately upon graduation, in 1994 he opened his first dental office in San Jose, California. It was a project he started working on as a senior student in dental school. As the practice continued to grow, Dr. Nguyen pursued advanced training in Cosmetic and Bite Rehabilitation through well known institutions and leaders in the field. His treatment philosophy revolves around treating patients with the utmost respect and delivering dentistry with the underlying foundation of overall health, balanced bite, and esthetic restoration options.
In 2003, Dr. Nguyen relocated the practice to the beautiful Saratoga, California. The office was built with a design to help make patients feel at ease when going to the dentist. Modeled after the ambience of a spa, it is often described by our patients as the best dental experience that they have ever had.
In 2006, Dr. Nguyen became Accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. This special credential is earned by 471 members of the 3500 world wide memberships of the academy. Attaining the Accreditation by the AACD demonstrates Dr. Nguyen's passion for the artistic aspect of dentistry. Moreover, the skill trained through the process allows Dr. Nguyen to deliver outstanding restorations which can improve a person's self esteem and confidence when the smile is physically affected.
Throughout his career Dr. Nguyen also continues to seek further training in both the surgical and restorative phase of Implant Dentistry. This scientific aspect of dentistry enables him to comprehensively diagnose his patients' dental health and treat cases which involve missing teeth. Dr. Nguyen currently holds a Fellowship Status with the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
With the experience of over 27 years of dedication to excellence in dental care, Dr. Nguyen's mission is to help preserve and enhance his patients' dentition for a life time. The care he delivers is always based on his patient's best interests.
Dr. Nguyen is married to Dr. Thuy-Anh Nguyen, a 1997 UCSF dental school graduate. The couple practiced together for ten years, after which Dr. Thuy-Anh Nguyen retired from dentistry to pursue her passion for a career in science education. Their 21 year-old daughter, Claire (a 2018 Archbishop Mitty Monarch), is a college Senior. Their 16 year-old son, Nathan, is a basketball enthusiast and is a Junior at Archbishop Mitty High School.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Nguyen! I have been a patient of his for about ten years and I have only had positive experiences during that time. He is knowledgeable, meticulous, and thorough at every appointment. Most recently, I called Dr. Nguyen at the end of the day when the office was about to close because the cap on my front tooth fell off and I needed a replacement ASAP. Dr. Nguyen had me come in right away and stayed after hours to fix it that very same day. This kind gesture speaks volumes about the type of person he is as well. He is a great doctor who cares very much for his patients. If you're looking for a great dentist, look no further than Dr. Nguyen.

Everything is pretty much great about Dr. Nguyen's practice. The staff are great, the location is great. Unfortunately, the skills of Dr. Nguyen are very average, especially esthetic skills and taste. If your teeth need some minor work, it is fine. But if you would need some advanced work for your teeth, it would be better to find a more skilled dentist. I am really sad to say that , but it is what it is...

Dr. Alex Nguyen repaired a large chip on one of my central incisors, and he did it beautifully. So lucky to have him as my dentist. The office feels like a spa - so tranquil and relax. Never feel like I was at a dental office here!

I've been going here since I was 9 and the experience just keeps getting better! The entire staff at Dr Alex's office are kind and friendly, they always try to accommodate you. The wait is never too long because Stacey is very thorough with scheduling. Throughout the pandemic they've done a wonderful job of keeping the area clean (it already was tho) and making sure that patients have space to social distance. Dr Alex himself wore two masks when he did my appointment and I could see the masks bend down his ear. :( Don't work too hard doctor. They're just too many things I like about this place that I'm just going to list it. -The sink, where you push your foot to make the water run -The ambient music that makes you feel like you're at a spa -The beautiful decor -They always give you a hot towel afterwards -Utmost care to safety of clients -Most teeth procedures don't hurt afterwards because they are professionals who care about service, not how many patients they can get in a day ($$). Take this from a comparison story between me and my boyfriend, who found a cheap dentist in SF right outside of Chinatown to do a cleaning for roughly $40. It was rough for sure because when he got out I saw his gums were all bloodied up and swollen. The doctor made him wait 40 minutes and did his procedure in 15 (because he had other patients waiting ). Meanwhile, at Dr. Alex's office, I make an appointment and only have to wait 2-7 minutes as Stacy processes me and sends me to the dentists chair. Doctor comes in maybe 5 minutes later and does my cleaning in 30-40 minutes. Sometimes it hurts but it can't be helped. However, once he finishes, my gums feel refreshed and there is NO blood or swollenness. Just clean teeth Go here if you haven't!

I refer everyone I possibly can to Dr. Nguyen and team! I've Searched high and low for both for the BEST dentist to reach both my cosmetic and medical dental needs and goals!! I used to fly back-and-forth to Beverly Hills to a celebrity dentist. But my honest opinion Is that Dr. Nguyen and team provide the most stellar results and patient care that I stopped having to travel to my former dentist. My family and I are patients for LIFE!!:))

There are many reasons why I drive all the way from San Francisco. The office manager Stacy has always been very friendly and efficient. The office itself is like a zen spa - putting you in a more relaxed state of mind for your dental procedures. Alex takes special care to keep the procedures as painless as possible. And most importantly is the quality of his work. Alex transformed my front teeth to look perfect and natural at the same time. People now compliment my teeth and smile - which never happened before.

To join this practice is my best dental decision ever. Dr Nguyen is amazing professional with fantastic skill set. Unexpectedly relaxing atmosphere during all simple and complicated procedures. Great results. Highly recommend.
