In 1981 I received my Doctor Of Dental Medicine degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Since that time I continue to study with some of the most prominent specialists in the nation. I have made it my goal to utilize all state of the art materials and techniques available in order to restore and enhance the health and appearance of your smile.
Esthetic and cosmetic dentistry is my passion, however prevention is the key to a healthy and beautiful smile. My teamof highly trained professionals can help you maintain an already perfect smile or help to assist you in restoring your smile back to optimum health and beauty.
My early professional work as a dentist taught me that most dentists didnt spend much time thinking about the experience of visiting the dentist and that really bothered me. I was lucky enough in my career, however, to be able to design and create my own building.
Starting from the beginning in personally designing a building gave me the opportunity to really think about what would my patients want to experience when they came to me. Visitors will notice that there are no cords that drape over chairs and patients in my office. My patients are not cars in a shop, they are people. We move all ourinstrumentsout of sight, we make our computer screens easy to see so that we can discuss dental care plans in collaboration with our Patientsand we always make our beautiful views part of the whole experience of visiting us.
Nineyears ago we opened our office at our current location and it has been the culmination of a dream that I had to make my practice a more positive experience for all of my patients. I consider myself blessed to have a uniquely beautiful location, wonderfully qualified and caring staff and patients whose appreciation and enjoyment of my work makes my professional life very fulfilling. I hope that when you are considering dental care, you will contact my office and come experience everything we have to offer.
You have probably been to a few dental websites, and some dental offices, where Its all about the dentist. I dont feel that way at all. My philosophy is that the office works for my patients as a whole from how you get greeted to how you get treated. My teamis here to serve you and make you feel comfortable, cared for and respected as an individual who is probably already more than a little stressed about being at the dentist
Many times on your visit with us for routine dental treatments, you may not even see me. Thats why I have worked to create a team that are professional caretakers to my patients dental health. And yes, it wont hurt my feelings if you notice that my staff is a lot easier to look at than I am.

He put in 4 front teeth and one snapped off. No guarantee on his work in fact he wants $7000 more to fix it. He is retiring so hopefully nobody else gets the shaft.

I was referred to Dr. Alec by my employer and she was not lying when she said he was amazing! It has been a couple years since I've been to the dentist but I hit my tooth on a glass and chipped my front tooth. Dr. Alec was able to get me in so quickly and Marcela at the front desk was so sweet and patient with me as she was checking me in and prepping my paperwork. Everyone made me feel so welcomed and the office and view from the dental seat was beautiful. Dr. Alec made me feel super comfortable and at ease, checking in that I was okay during the whole process and did a phenomenal job shaping and matching the color of my tooth. I can't even tell which one was chipped! I highly, highly recommend this office. I have even already referred my family to him.

Alec Nelson and his staff are very professional and welcoming. I typically only get semi annual cleanings done at Dr. Nelson's office so I don't need to see doctor that much, but when I do it's always a pleasure. Anna is my hygienist and she's very sweet and great at her job. This office has a great vibe, location, and it's efficiently run. I highly recommend Dr. Alec Nelson and his staff for your dental needs.

Wonderful location and views, friendly staff and an exceptionally well run office. Dr. Nelson is an expert dentist who actually engages you and explains what he's doing and why he's doing it. Not something I've experienced at a dentist before. If you don't like dentists, this practice will change your mind.

As a person who has had more dental work most i have been in my share of dental offices. I must say Dr. Nelson takes the #1 slot. Before I even met him his staff welcomed me and showed genuine concern for me. The first person you will meet is his front office manager Arleta. She like the other staff is genuine and comes with a big smile. As I was lead to the room where my cleaning was going to take place the view of the fountain grove landscape as well as a couple of wild turkeys filled the large windows. I have gotten used to being comfortable in the dentist office but for people who tend to be a little on the nervous side rest assured this will be a much different experience. Then comes in Dr. Nelson. Calm, cool, great bedside manner, and again genuine in his concern for the patients comfort and well being. His soft touch matched his personality and I left out of there feeling well treated and more informed about my health than when I came in. Great experience
