Dr. Matthew Aldred was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Virginia and attended dental school at VCU School of Dentistry, servingas a teaching assistant his senior year. He was presented with the award for High Achievement in Caring for Persons with Disabilities from the Special Care Dentistry Association. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery, he completed two years of general practice residency at UVA Hospital, where he learned many advanced techniques such as dental implant placement and IV sedation. Dr. Aldred is also a husband, and father to two beautiful girls. When not practicing dentistry, he spends time with his family enjoying the James River park system, visiting the Outer Banks, and grilling outdoors.
Megan DeArmond has joined the Aldred Family Dentistry team as our new Dental Hygienist. Megan has worked in the dental field for over 10 years and as a dental hygienist for 6 years. She builds a great rapport with her patients and has an infectious positivity! When not taking care of our patients, Megan enjoys spending time with her family and young son.
Jennifer was born and raised in Montpelier, Virginia. She earned her dental assistant degree from Medical Careers Institute, where she graduated with honors. She is very passionate about her work and loves to assist her patients with their dental needs. Jennifer is a wife to Gary and mother to Lynsie. When she is not assisting Dr. Aldred, she enjoys volunteering at her daughters school, spending time with her family, and she absolutely loves to bake all kinds of desserts and learn new decorating techniques! She is very excited about joining Dr. Aldred and his wonderful staff.
Dr. Matthew Aldred holds a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the VCUSchool of Dentistry, and has been in practice since 2010 in our community. He is looking forward to building his new practice in the Montpelier community, as are his wife Laura and two daughters.

Our insurance only pays about half of my bill but I feel so comfortable with this dentist office I pay out of pocket the remainder. Sometimes you pay for comfort.

This is the best team to have helped me stay on my oral health since moving here from Colorado. My husband says Dr Aldred is the best at the injections he can hardly feel the needle and My 2.5 year old loves everyone there

Amazing staff! Very professional, yet very friendly. I immediately fell in love ! My husband had high blood pressure and Dr. ALDRED went out of his way to contact the PCP up the street to see if we could get in or what her recommendation would be. And every day this week we have had call backs from them, to check on him and his progress. The only thing that could be better is if they accepted my insurance. But it's almost worth paying out of pocket for the amount of care and services they provide.

Exceptional service and staff! Had an emergency and they got me in right away and couldn't have been more helpful & kind! Dr. Aldred was so gentle and ensured that I experienced as little pain as possible. To top that off, they are extremely involved and supportive of the community and local nonprofits.

I have lived in the area for 20 years, and after trying too many different dentists, I am over the moon about finding Dr. Aldred and his truly wonderful team - with a plus of being only 10 minutes from my home! Absolutely everyone in the office is a delight. Tina at the front desk is a wizard with insurance and managing appointments. Jennifer is sweet as could be, as are Megan and Kate, and they are all caring, efficient and make you feel special. Dr. Aldred has the genuine persona of the comfortable down-to-earth doc. He has solved many problems for me that others have either passed off as nothing or tried to over treat. He explains problems and treatment thoroughly and is everything you want in a dentist - period. (And I am a bit of an old fusspot.) Going into the office today, I had a (gigantic) small chip in my front tooth, and I feared any patch might be obvious. He fixed it so perfectly that I truly cannot see any variation in my tooth color! It was fast and painless. Thank you, Dr. Aldred, and all the lovely ladies in your office. You are a gift to us in Montpelier - here's to your unlimited success! MG

I have pretty severe dental anxiety but Dr Aldred was extremely understanding taking breaks when I needed them because of my panic attacks. He really puts the patient first. During my extraction i felt no pain and I couldn't thank him enough. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist who cares. The entire team there is absolutely fabulous.

I am absolutely in love with these people. Dr. Aldred actually takes his time to explain everything and really cares about his patients! Best dentist I have ever gone to. He has me for life! If you go here you won't be sorry I promise! 2 years later and I am still a very happy patient of his! The people here are just amazing and kind hearted.You can't help but smile when your there! I just had 2 Maryland bridges done by him today and they are great! They match absolutely perfect to my teeth!

Dr. Aldred and his staff were excellent. Very professional in focusing on my needs. Didn't pressure me into any unnecessary work, but did a full exam to inform me of possible future issues I may have with my teeth. As well as extracting a tooth that I had let get out of hand. Didn't experience any pain during the procedure and prescribed the pain meds I needed to get through post extraction. I didn't have any dental insurance and they did their best to keep my costs down as much as possible. I highly recommend their expertise and will be back in the future.

Dr. Aldred is an outstanding dentist! He has an amazing staff that makes you feel welcome and relaxed during your visit. I have had many bad experiences in the past with other Dentists, which prevented me from returning for 6 years. Dr Aldred and his staff have helped walk me through the appropriate steps to get back in good dental shape!! Thank You!!
