Dr. Sowmya Kanumilli attended Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine where she graduated with Honors as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. Dr. Kanumilli is a member of American Dental Association, The Virginia Dental Association, The Northern Virginia Dental Association and is Invisalign certified. Following graduation, she worked in all aspects of dentistry and particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry. She finds it very rewarding that by a smile makeover she is able to help improve her patients appearance and their outlook in life. She also believes that Continuing education is the key to clinical excellence.
Dr. Kanumilli has been recognized by the Consumers Research Council of America as the Americas Top Dentist for 2011 through 2018 and as Northern Virginias Top Dentist by Northern Virginia Magazine from 2014 through 2019. Dr. Kanumilli and her husband Vinod reside in Ashburn and have two children (Abhinav and Anika). The most famous member of the household though is their dog Coco. Her passions include spending time with family and travelling. She is fluent in English, Telugu and Hindi.

Whitney has been in the dental field for well over 10 years now and she brings a vast background in banking, communications, courier, engineering, cable industry and customer service. She has a caring and compassionate personality and is very knowledgeable when it comes to the insurance. Besides her work, she enjoys continuing her education in the Seminary, family and friends. She loves serving in the community with Capitol Hospice, Inova Hospital and the nursing homes. She thrives on giving her best customer service to the patients, helping with their insurance and financial options. She loves making our patients feel at ease and at home in a dental office!
I have been working for Dr. Kanumilli as Head Dental Assistant for over four years, and working in the dental field for over twelve years. Over the years I have been highly trained. My work is my niche, I love helping patients maintain their dental health. My hobbies are working out, hiking, traveling, taking pictures, and spending quality time with my daughter.
I am the Dental Insurance Administrator for the office assisting Whitney. I simply love my job and working with the patients and helping them with the financial aspects of their dental needs. I had my first visit as a new patient today and had a very positive experience! It's not often one can say that after coming from the dentist...and especially when you're getting a tooth extraction lol. I had been going to another office about 10 mins closer to my home but was not satisfied with the patient care, nor the facility itself. Aldie Family & Cosmetic Dentistry deserves 5 stars from the beautiful building it's located in, to the clean and spacious office. I was especially impressed with their technology! The front desk staff were nice and knowledgeable (definitely not a norm). The dental assistant and Dr. Kanumilli were great! They both had wonderful 'chairside' manner and came up with an accurate dental plan for me within minutes. Lastly, the tooth I had extracted was apparently 'too tough and impacted' for the last practice to do (their own words); however, Dr. Kanumilli extracted it with care and precision in minutes! My wife had already visited and told me how nice of an experience she had and I concur. They will continue to receive our business and hopefully be our dental provider for years to come!

Dr. Kalra is an amazing doctor! She made the most uncomfortable dentist visit not so bad:-) She is really a great dentist. Everyone here is really nice and professional. I highly recommend!

Finally a Denist I can trust!! She is the best!!! They really care about you and your family!! They always go above and beyond to help you out. I had a tooth abcess and I was in a lot of pain and they was able to get me in same day and complete treatment. Dr. Kanumilli is the only one I trust with my family dental care. She is honest and caring. Courtney and Angelique are so welcoming and patient, they always take their time to explain treatment plans and charges. This is really a great team all the way down to the dental assistants!!

Cancelled my appointment without my consent as they couldnt reach me on phone..i gave all needed info ahead of appointment and were to see me on the appointment day. Because of a typo they couldnt verify and cancelled my appointment..NOT a worty place...i have never seen anyone cancelling the appointment

The office staff at Aldie family dentistry is very welcoming and friendly. They are always ready to answer all your questions. Dr Kanumili is great to work with. I had a root canal and crowning done recently. Even thought it was in a difficult spot, Dr Kanumili made sure she did the perfect job. Doctors assistants look like need more training but overall it was good experience.

I would give 0 star to this clinic Dr Kanumilli is very very rude I would definitely not recommend this clinic for any procedure, they always have new staff and lack of knowledge and very unprofessional. Doctor doesn't even know how to talk to patient she understand herself that because she is doctor so she has right to speak to loudly and Rudely with anyone. I have never met Doctor like her. I had very bad experience. I took out one hours from my busy schedule for my appointment but I got very very disappointed. Pathetic Doctor and pathetic service . Would suggest NOT TO USE THEIR SERVICE and specially DR KANUMILLI
