Born and raised in Indio, California, Dr. Alatorre is a proud graduate and former valedictorian of Indio High School. She attended San Diego State University, and received her DDS from the University of California San Francisco.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Alatorre spent two years helping the community as a part of the National Health Service Corp. In 1994, she returned to her hometown to start her practice and provide outstanding care to residents of the Coachella Valley. She remains abreast of changes in the industry through continuing education courses and through attending annual meetings for the California and the American Dental Associations.
A registered dental hygienist, Karen studied hygiene at BCC in Binghamton, New York, and at LLU in Loma Linda, California. She's very passionate about her work and loves working with Dr. Alatorre. She also loves animals and rescuing them.
A 1996 graduate of Indio's ROP Dental Assisting Program, Marcela was licensed through the state of California (RDA). Working for the office since 1996, she enjoys coming to work each day to deliver top-quality care to our patients.
A proud mother of two daughters and one son, Julieta (Julie) has worked for the office since January of 2004. She and her family also own and operate Rio Azul Mexican Bar and Grill in Palm Springs, California, and have done so for three years.

Got crowns here, when the acrylic crown fell off, my gum swelled over the tooth, and they didn't even numb me while putting the retraction string around the gum to push it back into place. One of the WORST pains ever in my life. Eyes literally crying tears while they pushed that string in and they just said "sorry" but never even offered numbing. When I got the real crowns on, they were too thick and too tight on my teeth, they had to be filed way down and now my crowns have no anatomy, they are basically caps with no tooth structure, very ugly. They are grainy from all the filing and lack of buffing and polishing. They broke in places from fitting so poorly. I have to get a revision from a specialist. For 900+$ I expected better. Very Bad experience.

I called in the morning the make an appointment to get seen. I asked if they were accepting new patients and they responded with yes. They asked me why I would be coming in. I explained I was experiencing tooth pain. They placed me on hold and stated they would see me today at 1pm. I was thankful they were able to get me in this soon. I arrive to my appointment on time and during my visit they explained that they tried getting a hold of my primary care doctor to get a medical clearance. Unfortunately my doctor was not available. So they said they would need to reschedule my appointment. I asked them if they could wait 10 minutes so that I can call them and get them to do it faster. They said no. Then comes the nurse with the audacity to ask me if I can come in a different day. Having have worked in the dental field myself, I know very well that a medical clearance is not needed unless dental treatment is going to be preformed. They could have done the x rays and exam. By the time they finished. The primary care doctor could have given the clearance. This office lacks critical thinking skills. Due to their incompetence, not only did I drive over half an hour to get here, but will not be returning.

Truly amazing! I had awful pain and they helped without hesitation. Dr Alice was so kind and her staff just amazing. They quickly got me evaluated and coordinated my care (keeping in mind the tremendous amount of pain I was in) and offered such kind gentle but thorough evaluation. The pride they take in their patient care is amazing and I am so glad to have such an amazing team taking care of me.

Doctor Alatorre is simply the best. She expects perfection from herself and her staff. I drive from San Diego to see her. Another patient drives from Huntington Beach. I had a very good dentist in San Diego for 30 years. She is better.

Everybody we know sees her. The reason there aren't a hundred positive reviews here is that long-time patients refer her to new patients, so few look at this site.
