Dr. Shelhamer is awesome and the staff is great as well. I had a tooth extraction and implant put in place and the process couldn't have been more pleasant, professional, and painless. I highly recommend.

He took excellent care of my teenage son with his dental surgery. He was very knowledgeable and walked us through step by step. I would definitely recommend him.

WHY do these review people only allow 5 stars? This guy gets 10 stars. I had a tooth abscess with major infection and could not open my mouth. He told me to get to the Hospital emergency room or I may not see the next day. Glad I did. Scripps in Encinitas admitted me immediately and gave me massive doses of an antibiotic. 24/7 for 5 days. My neck was the size of a pro football player--approx 22". After 5 days, I was sent home at 4 pm and given oral anitbiotics. By 8 pm my neck grew again to 22" (had no offers to play pro ball for the Chargers) and I said I think I better go back to the hospital. Another 5 days with massive doses of antibiotics. --By the way, Hospital food is like airline food. I was ready to say good by to the world. This genius, Dr. Shelhammer said I needed surgery as this infection was travelling towards my throat and could cut off air supply any minute. So I took the express elevator down to the operating room. Got a strong cocktail and out I was. 90 minutes later I had a nice white turtle neck around my neck and I felt great. Dopey--but so what. Then 30 days more of a follow up antibiotic at home with a pick line and I am here to give you my story. THIS GUY IS G R E A T. !!! The problem all started by going to some run-of the-mill clinic in Carlsbad-in Bressi Ranch-- They hire people off the street as this infection was growing for a month and they did absolutely NOTHING. If you have to wait for Dr. Shellhammer, it is worth the wait. Nothing more needs be said. thank you Dr. Shelhammer for saving my life. I owe you a good German beer.

I needed a bit of work. 4 wisdom teeth and a primary tooth to be removed, a sinus lift, and a bone graft. Dr. Shelhammer explained everything clearly, try to have your questions ready in advance it helps, and was so skilled. Truly the best dental experience I could have had with the work I need. Great staff, friendly and so helpful!

Dr. Shelhamer did an amazing job taking out my daughter's wisdom teeth. She was very nervous about the procedure and he took a great deal of time to explain everything to her. He administered the anesthesia as well and it made her experience a positive one. We highly recommend Dr. Shelhamer.
