As a Santa Clara native, I take great pride in serving the community in which I grew up. One of the most thrilling aspects of being a community dentist is never knowing what familiar face will walk through my doorfriends from Santa Clara University, teammates from Bellarmine, or teachers from grade school. Equally enjoyable, though, are the friendships to be made with the new faces that are welcomed into my practice.
My dental education began at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. I graduated with Highest Honors in 1996. I then completed a General Practice Residency at UCLA the following year.
I am an avid sports fan and offer this advice: If you want to stall the inevitable dental procedure, simply ask my opinion about the most recent football or baseball game and you will have yourself an extra 10 minutes of conversation!
I have been involved in the dental field for such a large part of my life that making people smile has become part of who I am. For as long as Dr. Frame has been doing dentistry I playfully remind him that I still have tenure over him in our office as I preceded him as an assistant to Dr. Weiner. As Office Manager now it really does fill me with pride to think of myself as a bridge between such amazing dentists.
In addition to dentistry I am a country girl at heart. I love to go to country music concerts or just sing along in my car! The biggest loves of my life are of course my wonderful children, Kailey and Josh, who fill my heart each day with joy and happiness.
April Martinez, R.D.A., Patient Scheduling Coordinator My journey into dentistry began when I was very young. Seeing my mom lose some of her teeth to gum disease affected me deeply as I wish I could have done something to prevent this. I therefore enrolled in dental assisting school when I was only 19. I took to dentistry so quickly that I soon found myself in a position to help other young students as an instructor.
Now as both an assistant to Dr. Frame and Patient Scheduling Coordinator I find myself in a position to make a profound difference in peoples lives. Seeing someone be able to save their teeth and maintain their smile as a result of my efforts really does make me proud. Aside from dentistry I have a musical side. For many years I played the flute and piccolo and was even encouraged to play professionally! I am also a Disney Princess. My son, Caesar, and my granddaughter, Amora, can definitely attest to my love for singing all the classic Disney songs!
I always loved going to the dentist. As I got older, I began to become interested in oral hygiene. I also grew up wanting a career in which I could help others. Thats when I knew I wanted to become a dental hygienist. I started going to school in 2009 for dental assisting and completed my associates degree and my hygiene program, all the while, working in the dental field.
I enjoy how my colleagues and I strive to make our patients feel comfortable and enjoy our friendly environment. I also enjoy working with Dr. Frame as his kindness and expertise in this field makes him knowledgeable and trustworthy. These are morals I like to believe in when I come into work every day.
On my days off I love to spend time with my family. I am married with two beautiful girls. As a family, we love to spend our days outside as we go swimming, play at the park, and go on day trips. Playing softball after work is a way in which I keep up with old friends. I also like to hike, and I love spending time cooking in the kitchen.
I have always enjoyed going to the dentist. My family and I have been patients at the same dental office for about 15 years. What has kept us loyal to them is that they make us feel as if we are family. It was my mission to find a profession that would allow me to create the same connection with my clients.
After graduating high school, I was still undecided about my profession of choice. My uncle suggested that I give dentistry a try. After looking into a local program, I immediately knew that this was the profession for me. I have always had a passion for helping people. Working in the dental field has allowed me to fulfill that passion and to pass on the family feel that my dentist had given to me when I was young.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my son. I love watching him grow and learn new things every day. I have described him as a puppy because of how playful and loving he is! I also enjoy spending time outdoors. I like to plan activities for me and my family on the weekends. We enjoy visiting local amusement parks, going out to the lake and hikes. Feel free to say hi if you happen to see me outside of work!
