Dr. Alan J. Schwartz earned his undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1980 and his dental degree (DDS) at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1985. He furthered his clinical skills by completing a general practice residency at Peninsula General Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY. Regularly attending continuing education courses enables Dr. Schwartz to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry.
Dr. Alan J. Schwartz has been practicing dentistry in Kew Gardens Hills, NY since 1989, and Oceanside, New York since 2009. Creating and maintaining his patients optimal oral health, in his state of the art dental office, is his number one priority. Dr. Schwartz is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, Queens County Dental Society and Peninsula Hospital Dental Society and Nassau County Dental Society.
April Schwartz has been married to Dr. Alan J. Schwartz since 1985. They met while undergraduate students at SUNY Binghamton. April began working part-time when their youngest son began school and is now the office manager. Being able to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere, educating patients on the latest dental techniques, and serving as the liaison between patients, insurance companies and outside financing companies are some of the responsibilities she most enjoys. My goal is to create an environment in which our patients will feel comfortable and well cared for while receiving the best dentistry available today, says April.
Sherry is the practices Dental Assistant in our Oceanside office. She has been in the dental field since 1990, with experience in both the clinical and administrative aspects of dentistry. She is so pleased to be an integral part of Dr. Schwartzs technologically advanced and caring practice. When not working at the best dental office in Oceanside, Sherry can be found in her garden or on a tennis court.
Alyssa Olson our Dental Hygienist graduated from University of New Haven in 2017 with her Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. When she isnt at work giving the best care to patients she enjoys hanging out with family, friends and her pup Rex. Alyssa enjoys snowboarding in the winter and wakeboarding during the summer months.

Dr Schwartz is not only a REALLY GOOD dentist - he explains everything in advance, cares that you remain relaxed and comfortable, doesn't hurt you and leaves you with wonderful results. And... his assistant Sherry and the front desk - April - are just as nice as he is. I would absolutely recommend the entire practice

"Things Happen For A Reason." Thank goodness I left my former dentist and found Dr. Schwartz and his staff (Sherry and April). I needed crowns on five of my teeth. The work was finished today and they look great! Dr. Schwartz made me feel so comfortable but it is just as important that so did his staff (Sherry and April). They are so accommodating and genuine. Bravo Dr. Schwartz for making me smile again.

Dr Schwartz a dentist par-excellence. He is a dedicated dentist with a state of the art office. His team is top notch from the office manager April who greets you when you arrive to the people who do the most thorough cleanings and work with him while he is performing procedures. I come from Manhattan to Oceanside for I would not want any other dentist working on me. I recently had a last minute emergency and Dr Schwartz opened his office early to accommodate me. At 1PM I had an emergency, he immediately diagnosed the problem and now I am pain free.. Dr Schwartz is dedicated to his patients and goes above and beyond giving us the best dental care

I've been going to Dr. Schwartz for a very long time. He is meticulous about his work & has never failed me. I simply love April, the office mgr, so very helpful with a great disposition. The hygienist, Alyson, very good a very pleasant too. I highly recommend Dr. Schwartz for any problems you may have with your teeth.

Dr. Schwartz and his staff have eased my long time anxiety about going to the dentist. His staff always make me feel at home and Dr. Schwartz's work is always impeccable. He catches issues early on and uses the latest technology in his treatments. I've been coming here for about 7 years now and my overall experience has been so positive that I no longer dread the dentist!
