Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Chang attended college at Brown University where he obtained his B.S. in computational molecular biology. He then moved to Atlanta and obtained a masters degree in evolutionary biology. After spending a few years teaching and doing genomics research, he pivoted towards dentistry and attended the University of the Pacific in San Francisco where he obtained his D.D.S. degree.
While attending dental school, he moved to Alameda where he fell in love with the island city and its charm. Here, he met Dr. Bruce Bothwell, a longtime Alameda dentist, and began treating patients with him.
Born in Michigan and having lived in six different states, Dr. Zhang earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences and Asian Language and Studies Chinese from the University of the Pacific. Continuing at the University of the Pacific, he then received his D.D.S from the Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
