Great people & so friendly. This isn't the first time I have used Dr. Rothman. Both of my boys had their wisdom teeth taken out by him many years ago. Today was the second time I have used him, second wisdom tooth taken out today. I have high anxiety when I go to the dentist but they make you feel so comfortable and relaxed. I was in and out of there in no time. Dr. Rothman called to check on me as well. I highly recommend Alabama Oral & Facial Surgery
Got to make a shoutout this place. My severe anxiety prevents me from coming to get a lot of dental work. Tooth was pulled today with twilight and the staff was just very caring to work with my anxiety. So relieved its over and it got through quickly. Dr. Christopher M. Rothman is originally from Boston, MA. He graduated from Farragut High School in Knoxville, TN and attended the University of Alabama where he received his Bachelor of Science. Dr. Rothman obtained his doctorate at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, where he had the privilege of serving on the Curriculum Committee. He graduated with High Honors and received numerous awards.
Dr. Rothman performed his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at University Hospital at the University of Cincinnati. His training included anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, facial trauma, reconstructive surgery, cleft lip & palate surgery, pathology, advanced trauma life support, cardiology, plastic surgery and trauma surgery. He served as National Chairman of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Residents Organization.
Dr. Rothman has multiple board certifications. He isBoard Certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeryand has beenBoard Certified by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, Birmingham Dental Association, and the Alabama Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Rothman, is the co-founder of the Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness. He has lectured and written extensively on the subject of medical emergency preparedness and training.Dentistry Todayhas recognized him as one of the Leaders in Continuing Education since 2009. Dr. Rothman co-developed the curriculum for Advanced Life Support for Dentistry (ALSD) and the Emergency Response System, which has been endorsed by both national and state organizations. The emergency training program he co-developed has been implemented in dental school curriculum throughout the United States.
Dr. McKay attended the University of Mississippi where he obtained a degree in Mathematics. He then attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis, where he served as a national officer for the American Student Dental Association and graduated with high honors.
Dr. McKays residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery followed at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. His time there was spent extensively studying contemporary techniques in general anesthesia, critical care, trauma, reconstructive surgery, cosmetic surgery, dental implants, and dental alveolar surgery including wisdom teeth removal and bone grafting.
Dr. McKay has over 17 years of experience practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is an active member of theAmerican Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, theAmerican Dental Association, theAlabama Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the BirminghamDistrict Dental Society.
Dr. McKay has spent several summers as a missionary in Central America during his college years, and has continued to play an active role in missions by accompanying several groups from Briarwood Christian High School to Managua, Nicaragua.
Dr. Walter H. Wilson was born in Birmingham, AL and attended Oak Mountain High School where he played varsity baseball and graduated with valedictorian honors. He then attended the University of Alabama where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society.
Dr. Wilson obtained a Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he was named to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society. He also obtained his Medical Doctorate from the University of Alabama and subsequently completed an general surgery internship and his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His training included intensive studies in anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology, facial trauma and reconstructive surgery, orthognathic surgery, cleft lip and palate repair, pathology, and temporomandibular joint disorders.
Dr. Wilson and his wife Anna, who is a Nurse Practitioner in the area, met at Oak Mountain High School and are committed to providing care to the communities of central Alabama. Anna and Walter have three young children, Jackson, Eleanor, and Madelyn.

I wouldn't not recommend, I'm not sure if my had issue during my surgery or what but, the recovery was horrible. I do not feel like I was accommodated accordingly. But just to wrap it up. Today I pulled out a big Chunk of teeth tooth out of where my wisdom teeth were. It been about 2-3 month and my right side still has not closed up at all. Plus I tried to come up there for a cleaning maybe or a check up and they Just said "Yes call your regular oral care" but if a chunk of my tooth come out of the area where my wisdom tooth, shouldn't that be more in your expertise?

Took my granddaughter she was only back their 15 minutes the one that brought her to the car lied to me about putting child safety lock on and she opened the door going down 231 and then they billed an extra $270 that was not used she was not back there long enough to need additional anesthesia and when I called questioning the bill the billing office was rude and unhelpful I called insurance and made a complaint also

Having severe anxiety about any kind of medical procedure, I am not an easy patient. That being said, the staff at Alabama Oral & Facial Surgery (Pell City) were absolutely amazing. They were friendly, patient, understanding, and really went the extra mile to ensure my every need was met. Dr. Rothman talked to me in detail during my. He wasn't rushed and explained in detail everything to expect. He listened. I can't thank them enough for giving me back my smile. There aren't enough words to say how wonderful it is!

considering the horror stories i've heard from the place i will not be getting any of my wisdom teeth pulled here and i encourage others to take their oral problems else where... this "buisness" consist of rude staff, greedy intentions, and overall selfish standards. i wouldn't entertain this "buisness" nor would i give them any of your hard earned money!!

I was getting my wisdom teeth out June 9th had an apt for 8 to get them out get there do the paper work and my mouth is in so much pain I have a very high pain tolerance so when I cry over pain it's very serious and I'm balling my eyes out in the doctors office waiting to get them out and they say I can't get them out because the insurances haven't said it's okay we'll this is an emergency that's the type of stuff you worry about after the problem is fixed this is so serious my grandfather offered to pay cash no insurance and they said they can't it's the law so I haven't had water or food since 12 the night before so at this point im so stressed out I can't get my surgery they said it can take weeks to get it dont or a couple of days so I ask for a cup of water and they told me "there is a water fountain downstairs" imagine telling someone with a broken leg in so much pain to go get water down stairs blows me away that's how much pain I was in so we leave it's an emergency I have to get my wisdom teeth out ASAP so we get to another place get an appointment for the same day a couple hours later we get there takes us 10 min to get in to have the sergry they saved my life the pain was so bad before sergry I wanted to take my life that's how bad the pain was the this oral doctor in pell city would not do it WOUODNT EVEN TAKE CASH such heartless people please if you want help or anything close to help or nice people do not go here it's in your best interest to never get close to this plave at least the oral surgen and all the lady's at the desk so rude and un thoughtful I'm a 16 year old kid and they turned me down that's my experiance form this place hopefully I changed your mind if you were thinking about going here because you do not want to find out for yourself trust me I'm still recovering from surgery I went to this doctor in alabaster and he did great the name is koslin kahn oral and facial surgry they even have me a free shirt after my surgry such nice people so do not waste yoy time at that hateful place in pell city!

My husband went in to have an extraction under local anesthesia today. Our insurance covers this at 80% so our cost was $80. We paid that upfront. The doctor was not able to do the extraction under local anesthesia, they needed to do general anesthesia. Unfortunately, we were only prepared to pay $80 today and the procedure needed would've been $200 on our part. Instead of billing us the remaining, THEY WOULD NOT DO THE PROCEDURE. Keep in mind, he was already numbed and everything was set up. I've never seen an office be so greedy. Almost half of the procedure was already paid for, not to mention WE HAVE INSURANCE. You seriously need new office practices. This was disgusting and I doubt we will be back. I work at a doctors office and we do our best to work with our patients. You would never see this type of greed at our office. I'm honestly disgusted. You let a patient leave your office after starting the procedure over a little bit of money. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I'm still shocked. It wouldn't let me choose zero stars, literally the only reason I gave one.
